Mitt Romney is pushing back against the scathing Wall Street Journal editorial that greeted his Thursday health care speech, saying the paper unfairly blamed the Massachusetts reform law for the state's continuing problems. But the Journal editorial writers remain unmoved by Romney's speech, writing Friday that the reform he is now proposing is too far away from what he did in Massachusetts, which is too close to federal health reform. Newt Gingrich on Sunday rejected a Republican proposal to turn Medicare into a voucher program that helps senior citizens purchase private health insurance. Remember when the Republicans were talking about "death panels" during the national health care debate last year? That seems to be the message of what the Ohio Health Care Association is depicting in their new television advertisements that have been popping up around the dial in response to gutting skilled nursing care, aka nursing homes, by $470 Million dollars. My basic beef with Bush is that he spent money like a Democrat, he attacked Iraq without justification and, in the process, diverted our nation’s attention from getting Bin Laden, and he countenanced the release of Valerie Plame’s identity and approved the use of torture. 1. There was no reason for him to opine on the subject of water boarding.
2. He is clearly wrong.
