NEW YORK The next big question on the federal debt limit could be whether to start selling the governments holdings of gold at Fort Knox and at least one presidential contender, Ron Paul, has told The New York Sun he thinks it would be a good move. The question has been ricocheting around the policy circles today. An analyst at the Heritage Foundation, Ron Utt, told the Washington Post that the gold holdings of the government are just sort of sitting there. He added: Given the high price it is now, and the tremendous debt problem we now have, by all means, sell at the peak. His comment came in the wake of not only the government having reached ...

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich carried a revolving charge account between $250,001 and $500,000 in 2005 and 2006 for the Tiffany & Co. jewelry store when his wife worked as a congressional staffer, according to public records. The liability was reported in Callista Gingrich's financial disclosure forms filed in 2006 and 2007 for her work done in the previous year. Her job on the House Agriculture Committee ended on Jan. 1, 2007. As a congressional employee, Callista Gingrich was required each year to file such a form for her work the preceding year. f you want to get an idea of how bad Donald Trump's political standing was by the end of his abortive run for President consider this- a national poll we conducted last week found that he would trail Dennis Kucinich 40-36 in a hypothetical contest. On that poll we found that there were more Republicans (15%) willing to vote for Kucinich than there were Democrats (14%) willing to vote for Trump. And Kucinich took independents by a 40-38 margin as well. Trump was already unpopular when he started testing the Presidential waters. In February we found that his favorability was a -29 spread at 27/56. But he managed to make himself more unpopular over the course of the last three months and ...

Loser-Pays Tort Reform Written on May 17, 2011 by Chuck Norris Last week, President Obama came to my home state of Texas calling for immigration reform. He should have also rallied citizens for tort reform, which is a hot issue right now around the country and in Texas politics in particular. Ive deferred (or better, repackaged) Part 2 of my article on bullies to oppose some real-life legal bullies those sue-happy individuals (serial litigants) who tie up and abuse our court systems and civil rights to oppress and take from their victims (defendants). These corrupt plaintiffs often initiate frivolous lawsuits because they know most defendants will settle out of court rather ...

Nevada secures partial waiver from federal health care law By Karoun Demirjian Monday, May 16, 2011 | 5:08 p.m. Nevada got a partial waiver from the health care law a significant development that Democrats are dismissing as par for the course and Republicans are claiming as a political victory. The Health and Human Services Department announced late Friday that Nevada had secured a statewide waiver from certain implementation requirements of the Obama administrations health care law, because forcing them through, the department found, may lead to the destabilization of the individual market. The announcement makes Nevada one of only three states to have ...

California Assembly passes 'card check' for agricultural workers Phil Boehmke, May 17, 2011 The United Farm Workers Union is just a Jerry Brown autograph away from salvation. The UFW which has seen its membership decline from more than 70,000 in the seventies to roughly 27,000 (including part time and seasonal workers) today is ready to fill its ranks and coffers through card check. The Sacramento Bee reports that the California Assembly passed the card check bill on Monday. The measure, Senate Bill 104, cleared the Assembly by a vote of 51-26 with Republicans opposed. It now goes to Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown, who has not yet announced whether he will ...
Random House to House Searches Authorized As Police State Expands Post Date: 2011-05-17 14:40:15 by Capitalist Eric

It seems no matter how many laws and mandates government passes, whether on the federal, state or local level, its never enough. The latest violation of the right to be safe in our homes and our persons comes from the Indiana Supreme Court: According to Newton County Sheriff, Don Hartman Sr., random house to house searches are now possible and could be helpful following the Barnes v. STATE of INDIANA Supreme Court ruling issued on May 12th, 2011. When asked three separate times due to the astounding callousness as it relates to trampling the inherent natural rights of Americans, he emphatically indicated that he would use random house to house checks, adding he felt people will ...
Judge Roy Moore 2012? Post Date: 2011-05-16 20:41:02 by A K A Stone

Billionaire Donald Trump is out of the 2012 GOP race, former Gov. Mike Huckabee is gone, but there's a new possible challenger who just might be getting ready to toss in his hat. Judge Roy Moore, a former state Supreme Court chief justice who twice has mounted campaigns to be governor in Alabama, has established an exploratory committee to consider a challenge to Barack Obama for the White House in 2012. Moore, whose plans were launched at RoyMoore2012.com, told WND that his campaign would be simple: telling people how he'd work on the problems facing America. And his administration, he said, would be simpler: just doing what he said. "What most voters really are looking for ...

MINNEAPOLIS -- The NFL has won another round in the court fight with its players. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday decided that the league's lockout of its players should stay in place until a full appeal is heard on whether it is legal, which means until at least the first week of June and possibly much longer. The 2-1 decision mirrored a similar decision last month from the same panel, including a lengthy dissent from the same judge. The appellate court said it believed the NFL has proven it "likely will suffer some degree of irreparable harm without a stay." It also cast doubt on the conclusions of U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson, who ruled April ...
Justices Allow Search if Police Hear Evidence Being Destroyed Post Date: 2011-05-16 15:41:55 by go65

WASHINGTON The police do not need a warrant to enter a home if they smell burning marijuana, knock loudly, announce themselves and hear what they think is the sound of evidence being destroyed, the Supreme Court ruled on Monday in an 8-to-1 decision. The issue as framed by the majority was a narrow one. It assumed that there was good reason to think evidence was being destroyed, and asked only whether the conduct of the police had impermissibly caused the destruction. Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., writing for the majority, said police officers do not violate the Fourth Amendments ban on unreasonable searches by kicking down a door after the occupants of an apartment react to ...

The True Story of the Financial Crisis (Obama wants it all to happen again) Post Date: 2011-05-16 14:53:18 by no gnu taxes

As many readers of The American Spectator will know, I was a member of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, a 10-member body appointed by Congress to investigate the causes of the financial crisis of 2008. The Commission issued its report in late January 2011, with a majority concluding that the crisis could have been avoided if the private sector had not taken so many risks and government regulators had not been asleep at the switch. I dissented from the majority's view, arguing in my dissent that the financial crisis would not have occurred if government housing policies had not fostered the creation of an unprecedented number of subprime and otherwise risky loans immediately ...

The National Academies of Sciences has nothing to do with science at all. It is directly controlled by the White House and staffed with people picked by the Obama administration. Since Obama took control of the White House it has been a full time Global Warming propaganda machine. The National Academies of Science was created by Abraham Lincoln who sought to make the Federal government more powerful. For the past 100 years, blacks in the United States have consistently scored 15-20 points below whites on IQ tests. The Obama controlled National Academies for the Sciences has declared that the elevated murder rate in black neighborhoods cause blacks to have lower IQs ...
Newt Gingrich Waffles on Paul Ryan Medicare Plan Post Date: 2011-05-16 13:42:11 by go65

ABC News Devin Dwyer reports: President Obama and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appear to share the same view of Republican Rep. Paul Ryans proposed overhaul of the Medicare program. Both men say the Ryan plan is radical. Gingrich, who recently announced his bid to unseat Obama in 2012, became the most high-profile Republican to publicly oppose Ryans Medicare revamp in an appearance Sunday on NBCs Meet the Press. I dont think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering, Gingrich said. I dont think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way ...

Newt Gingrich is condemning individual health insurance mandates today, finally ditching the policy after more than a decade of vocal support that he reiterated as recently as Sunday morning. "I am for the repeal of Obamacare and I am against any effort to impose a federal mandate on anyone because it is fundamentally wrong and I believe unconstitutional," he said in a video posted on his website on Monday and apparently shot this morning outside a Washington, D.C., hotel where Gingrich was addressing an Alzheimer's convention. In the early 1990s, Gingrich joined many Republican in backing a health care law featuring an individual mandate as an alternative to President ...

Why Obama's Government Wants to Bring Back Subprime Mortgages Post Date: 2011-05-16 12:18:22 by no gnu taxes

I was listening to Glenn Beck for a while today, and he pointed out that 98% of mortages in this country are through the government entities of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and that Fannie Mae is $8 billion in the red this quarter. And yet Obama wants banks to start giving loans again to people who can't afford them and won't pay them back. Beck thinks he knows the reason. When the people default on the mortages owned by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae...i.e., the government, the government gets to own all those houses. There will then be no need to confiscate people's homes, as happens under communism. The government will just...own them...and their inhabitants will pay rent to ...
Obama regime is now pushing for subprime loans again!! Post Date: 2011-05-16 11:39:06 by no gnu taxes

If there is one thing that contributed more than anything else to our current economic downturn, it was the subprime lending disaster. Almost everyone agrees the subprime loans were a disaster. Yet the Obama regime is now pushing for subprime loans again. Is there any other possible explanation, other than the Obama regime wants to tank the economy totally? The subprime lending crisis has its roots in one of the worst pieces of legislation, which came from the Carter administration and a Democratic congress. The Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 requires banks to make loans in all areas they serve, not just the wealthy areas. While the CRA sounds like a fair idea, in order to make credit ...

I saw this on CNN. about 70% of black women in America have a child with someone they’re not yet married to. In a lot of cases this man just walks off for various. a small portion actually get married LEGALLY.
In my community- i know a ton of black people who deal drugs.like Cocain, Weed, Ectasy and what ever else they deal. A decade ago they had the lowest graduation rate from high school and the lowest marks! ( this is somewhat improving). But in our schools.. the ones with the most black students ( and a mix of ...
The Obama Administration's Renewed Attempt to Destroy the Economy Post Date: 2011-05-16 11:02:28 by no gnu taxes

Community activists in St. Louis became concerned a couple of years ago that local banks werent offering credit to the citys poor and African American residents. So they formed a group called the St. Louis Equal Housing and Community Reinvestment Alliance and began writing complaint letters to federal regulators. Apparently, someone in Washington took notice. The Federal Reserve has cited one of the groups targets, Midwest BankCentre, a small bank that has been operating in St. Louiss predominantly white, middle-class suburbs for over a century, for failing to issue home mortgages or open branches in disadvantaged areas. Although executives at the bank say they ...

America has never had royalty. There may have been one brief, shining moment when the media tried to create the aura of American royal family in the persons of the Kennedys but that all faded with the passing of Camelot and the Liberal Lion with no Kennedys waiting in the wings. We dont have royalty but we dont need or desire all the trappings of that folderol seen in Great Britain last month. The only thing that extravaganza had going for it was commoner, Kate. NBC shills for Obama: Gingrich must be racist after mentioning food stamps Post Date: 2011-05-16 09:34:56 by no gnu taxes

The legislation removes the requirement of congressional approval for the use of military force and instead gives the President totalitarian dictatorial authority to engage in any and all military actions for an indefinite period of time. It even authorizes the President the authority to launch attacks against American ...

Washington (CNN) -- Judge me by what I can do for America now, rather than only by my mistakes in the past, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Sunday. The former House speaker, who announced his candidacy last week, told NBC's "Meet the Press" that he has made mistakes in life, including an adulterous affair that led to one of his two divorces. Now the American people must decide whether he's the right person to lead the country at what Gingrich called a crucial moment in its history. Click for Full Text!
