Mitt Romney gave a misleading answer to a question about Social Security during a feisty exchange with a heckler in Iowa. He said payroll taxes take 15.3 percent "out of your earnings," but only the self-employed pay that rate. All other workers pay half of that, with the other half being paid for by the employer. Buried deep in the internals of The Washington Post's latest poll, and not reported at all in their front-page write up, is some troubling news for President Obama's reelction prospects. Fourty-four percent of American adults, and 46 percent of registered voters, told The Post they definitely will not vote for Obama's reelection. In an attempt to stem its financial hemorrhaging, the U.S. Postal Service is seeking to reduce its workforce by 20 percent, including through layoffs now prohibited by union contracts. USPS also wants to withdraw its employees from the health and retirement plans that cover federal staffers and create its own benefit programs for postal employees. Three Black youths crushed my son’s hard palate and knocked four of his front teeth out. It was completely unprovoked, they were all near or over 200 pounds, my son is about 170, they knocked him out and proceeded to kick his face until they broke the teeth out of his mouth. Two years later and last weekend we had to have two of his teeth removed, this is absolutely related to the incident. The Black youths were caught, they were not charged with hate crimes though it was obviously racially motivated, two did not even spend a day in jail, the other spent two days in jail. His attorney got him a ten thousand dollar settlement and the perps mail him about $ 65.00 per month each. ...
