A Majority of Catholics Got What They Voted For 54% of Catholics voted for Obama in 2008. Now the Catholic Bishops are screaming bloody murder because of contraception mandates. Maybe its only the 46% that didnt vote for him who are doing the screaming. What about the Catholic bishops? They got behind Obamacare like they got behind every so-called Progressive social justice program. Heres how Stephanie Block frames the issue: For Over 40 years youve been funding, via the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, community organizations with progressive political agendas that convinced you that your religious world and your public policy world were two separate ...

Jackie Samuels the Principal of West Hoke Elementry School is a food nazi. Message to Jackie Samnuels. A Turkey Sandwich with cheese on it is a legitimate lunch. This bozo has inspectors go through kids lunches. They then proclaim them not to be good enough and give them school lunches. According to reports he forced a kid to eat chicken nuggets. Jackie Samuels can be reached at (910) 875-2584. Why don't you give Jackie a call at work and tell Jackie to get out of the kids lunch box. They have no right to tell the kids what to eat. It is their parents job not some government moron.
An Immoral President Has Lost The Support Of The Catholics Post Date: 2012-02-14 14:12:48 by A K A Stone

There goes the Catholic vote. Nearly four years after President Obama won 54 percent of Catholic voters, their support has plummeted to just 40 percent in the first poll conducted after he imposed a new birth control mandate on employers, including Catholic agencies. In a new Rasmussen poll, 59 percent of Catholics now disapprove of the president's job. Rasmussen reports that 44 percent strongly disapprove. About 40 percent at least somewhat approve of Obama's job. "Catholics strongly disapprove of the job President Obama is doing as the debate continues over his administration's new policy forcing Catholic institutions to pay for contraception they morally oppose," ...

In 2008, Moses Caballero was a 21-year-old activist in New York City who couldnt wait to cast his first presidential vote for Barack Obama. He canvassed around Harlem, he proselytized to his friends, he attended rallies and meetings downtown. Coming from a family of hardcore Puerto Rican and Brazilian-American Democrats that voted for Charlie Rangel every election cycle, he really couldnt give a fuck about a Republican. He was happy that Obama planned to get our troops out of Iraq. He liked the sound of making government more transparent. I really loved the idea of finally becoming part of the political process, he says. Like it mattered what I ...
American Catholicism’s Pact With the Devil Post Date: 2012-02-13 16:03:32 by CZ82

American Catholicisms Pact With the Devil Feb. 10 at 5:21pm You have to hand it to Barack Obama. He has unmasked in the most thoroughgoing way the despotic propensities of the administrative entitlements state and of the Democratic Party. And now he has done something similar to the hierarchy of the American Catholic Church. At the prospect that institutions associated with the Catholic Church would be required to offer to their employees health insurance covering contraception and abortifacients, the bishops, priests, and nuns scream bloody murder. But they raise no objection at all to the fact that Catholic employers and corporations, large and small, owned wholly or partially by ...
America’s Sham Economic Recovery [BLS says job report accuracy is +/- 430,000] Post Date: 2012-02-13 14:17:14 by Capitalist Eric

Official government data are manipulated. Credibilitys entirely lacking. Reported good news is hype. Grim underlying reality is suppressed. The monthly Labor Department jobs report is typical. Progressive Radio News Hour regular economist Jack Rasmus calls the latest January one largely statistical legerdemain. A reported 243,000 nonfarm jobs reported lacked credibility. Manipulation manufactured them. Even the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) admits: The confidence level for the monthly change in total employment is on the order of plus or minus 430,000 jobs. With that level of accuracy why bother reporting at all. Monthly numbers are meaningless. ...
4:00 TODAY: Occupy the SEC March to the Fed and the SEC: Enforce the Volcker Rule! Post Date: 2012-02-13 13:06:42 by lucysmom

February 13th marks the deadline for Public Comment on the draft version of the Volcker Rule. The Volcker Rule is a new regulation that aims to curb risky behavior at banks that have enjoyed bailouts and cheap funding from the Fed. It does so by prohibiting big banks from doing two things: 1. Proprietary Trading 2. Owning Hedge Funds or Private Equity Funds Between now and the summer, the SEC, The Fed, the FDIC and the OCC will be deciding on what the final rule will look like. The banking lobby would love for the rule to be watered down. We want to march on the Fed and the SEC to let them know that we are watching, and we are asking them not to bow to the banks, but to draft a strict, ...

National Review to Newt: Get out Post Date: 2012-02-13 11:00:35 by calcon

Newt Gingrich came to CPAC last week to rally the conservative activist base to his campaign. In my estimation, Gingrich did as well as he could possibly have done in his speech, but the support it generated at CPAC as reflected in the straw poll vote was disappointing, at best. Today, National Review tells Gingrich to take the advice he has handed out to others in the race and exit forthwith: At the moment Rick Santorum appears to be overtaking Newt Gingrich as the principal challenger to Mitt Romney. Santorum has won more contests than Gingrich (who has won only one), has more delegates, and leads him in the polls. In at least one poll, he also leads Romney. It isnt yet a ...

Don't Be Deceived! Evil Obama Policy Now Even MORE Evil! Post Date: 2012-02-12 19:36:46 by A K A Stone

Attention, Catholics, Protestants, and everyone who cares about the causes of life, religious freedom, and freedom of conscience!
Do not be suckered by the “accommodation” announced today by President Obama and spokeswoman Kathleen Sebelius!
Under the guise of making room for religious conscience, the President has actually made the policy worse—far worse.
Here’s how . . .
The new policy mandates that insurance companies offer free sterilization, contraception, and abortion-causing drugs as part of their policies. According to President Obama himself:
Under the rule, women will still have access to free preventive care that includes contraceptive services — no matter where ...
Occupy Movement Regroups, Preparing for Its Next Phase Post Date: 2012-02-12 18:45:23 by Brian S

The ragtag Occupy Wall Street encampments that sprang up in scores of cities last fall, thrusting We are the 99 percent into the vernacular, have largely been dismantled, with a new wave of crackdowns and evictions in the past week. Since the violent clashes last month in Oakland, Calif., headlines about Occupy have dwindled, too. Far from dissipating, groups around the country say they are preparing for a new phase of larger marches and strikes this spring that they hope will rebuild momentum and cast an even brighter glare on inequality and corporate greed. But this transition is filled with potential pitfalls and uncertainties: without the visible camps or clear goals, can ...

Samuel L. Jackson I Voted for Obama BECAUSE HE'S BLACK Post Date: 2012-02-12 10:45:22 by A K A Stone

Barack Obama's politics meant nothing to Samuel L. Jackson because the "Pulp Fiction" star only voted for the president for one reason and one reason only ... because he's black. In an interview with Ebony magazine, Jackson explained, "I voted for Barack because he was black. 'Cuz that's why other folks vote for other people because they look like them ... That's American politics, pure and simple. [Obama's] message didn't mean [bleep] to me." Jackson then went on to drop the N-word several times when discussing Obama, telling the mag, "When it comes down to it, they wouldn't have elected a [bleep]. Because, what's a ...
Zuckerberg's Bizarre Facebook Insignia Revealed, And What It Means Post Date: 2012-02-12 01:25:09 by A K A Stone

To much media fanfare, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg removed his signature hoodie at D8 conference Wednesday, revealing a strange Illuminati-like diagram printed on the blue silk lining. Interviewer Kara Swisher took one look at the bizarre garment and remarked, "What are you in, some kind of cult?"
The notion of some sort of secret seal struck a chord with the D8 audience -- and raises larger questions: The image is impossible to find on any open Facebook marketing materials, or online at all. When contacted by SF Weekly, the official channels at Facebook held that they had no details on the insignia, despite the fact that they could have just written it off on an over-enthusiastic ...

PORTLAND, Maine (Reuters) - Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney bounced back from midweek losses in three states to narrowly win Maine's caucuses on Saturday, hours after winning a straw poll of Republican conservative activists. Results of Maine's non-binding straw poll showed the former Massachusetts governor with 39 percent support, or 2,190 votes, ahead of libertarian Texas Congressman Ron Paul with 36 percent or 1,996 votes.Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, who did not campaign in Maine, won 18 percent and 6 percent of the vote, respectively. Despite signs of higher voter turnout, the votes cast in Maine appeared to be only slightly above 2008 levels. The outcome ...

Republican State Sen. Mark J. Grisanti was punched in the ribs and back of the head, and his wife Maria was beaten so severely about her head and face that she reportedly suffered a concussion. We Don’t Care What You Say, George: Han Shot First! Post Date: 2012-02-11 17:51:00 by A K A Stone

George Lucas needs to stop screwing around with Star Wars fans’ memories. It’s bad enough — worse than bad enough, honestly — that, nearly 35 years after Star Wars (not-yet-Episode IV) premiered, he is still making significant changes to the original trilogy. But now he’s insisting that we’ve been seeing it wrong since the very beginning.
Yes, Lucas is actually claiming that he only changed the appearance, not what actually happened, in the Han-shoots-Greedo scene in Mos Eisley in the (real) first film. Everybody knows that, until the “Special Edition” hit theaters in 1997, Han shot Greedo before Greedo could shoot him, and Greedo got off a wild shot as he died. Except according to ...

The deputy who shot and killed an unarmed Marine sergeant after a predawn traffic stop said the Marine was acting so "irrationally" that it seemed dangerous to let him drive away with his two daughters, an official said Friday. So when the Marine -- later identified as Sgt. Manny Loggins Jr. of Camp Pendleton -- climbed back into his GMC Yukon and turned the ignition, the deputy opened fire, according to Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Amormino stressed that he was merely relaying statements made by the deputy to investigators and "not defending" what happened. "This was a very tragic event, we all feel bad for the ...

States seek currencies made of silver and gold Post Date: 2012-02-11 10:39:52 by jwpegler

A growing number of states are seeking shiny new currencies made of silver and gold. Worried that the Federal Reserve and the U.S. dollar are on the brink of collapse, lawmakers from 13 states, including Minnesota, Tennessee, Iowa, South Carolina and Georgia, are seeking approval from their state governments to either issue their own alternative currency or explore it as an option. Just three years ago, only three states had similar proposals in place. "In the event of hyperinflation, depression, or other economic calamity related to the breakdown of the Federal Reserve System ... the State's governmental finances and private economy will be thrown into chaos," said North ...
