The one overriding issue of every Presidency has been: make sure Globalist legislation and treaties pass through to completion. Do not obstruct them. House Speaker John Boehner said Thursday that this week's fatal Amtrak crash wasn't caused by a lack of federal funds and mocked a reporter for even asking about it. "Are you really going to ask such a stupid question?" he said at a news conference as a reporter started to ask about Democratic complaints that the government shortchanges the railroad. Boehner, R-Ohio, spoke a day after the Republican-run House Appropriations Committee voted to cut Amtrak's budget for next year to $1.1 billion, a $251 million reduction. The panel also voted down a Democratic effort to boost federal funds for the railroad by more than $1 billion, including extra money for the busy ...

The National Security State Has Warped Our Values Post Date: 2015-05-14 08:34:47 by Deckard

After Edward Snowden revealed the NSAs secret mass surveillance scheme to the American people and the world, there have been those who consider what he did to be treasonous rather than patriotic. That adverse reaction to what Snowden did is a perfect example of how the national-security state apparatus that was grafted onto Americas governmental system after World War II has warped and perverted the values and stultified the consciences of the American people. Last week, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals held that the NSAs super-secret phone collection program was illegal that is, that it violated the Constitution of the United States, which is the higher law that ...

The United States is in the final stages of negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a massive free-trade agreement with Mexico, Canada, Japan, Singapore and seven other countries. Who will benefit from the TPP? American workers? Consumers? Small businesses? Taxpayers? Or the biggest multinational corporations in the world? One strong hint is buried in the fine print of the closely guarded draft. The provision, an increasingly common feature of trade agreements, is called Investor-State Dispute Settlement, or ISDS. The name may sound mild, but dont be fooled. Agreeing to ISDS in this enormous new treaty would tilt the playing field in the United States further in ...
