The Sunni rebels in Syria, and the Sunni government in Iraq when Reagan was arming them in the 1980s, appreciate America's contribution to their efforts. Click for Full Text!

And while Rawlings-Blake may not be accustomed to aggressive reporting, Vittert wasnt about to let that deter him from trying to find out why there has been an increase in crime. Is that because the police are doing less? he asked. As I said before, there are a lot of reasons why, Rawlings-Blake replied. Is that one of them? Vittert interjected. Arrests are down 50 percent. At this point, the mayor paused out of frustration, then said, I am not 100 percent sure what you are doing. I am just asking a question, the reported replied. Youre not. Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul is blaming his own party for the rise of the Islamic State group. The freshman senator from Kentucky said Wednesday that the GOPs foreign policy hawks created these people. That assertion led potential 2016 rival Bobby Jindal, Louisianas governor, to say Paul was unqualified to be president. The Islamic State group, commonly referred to as ISIS, has seized one-third of Iraq and Syria and in recent days made gains in central Iraq. ISIS exists and grew stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately, Paul said on MSNBCs Morning Joe. He continued: They created ...

Via Roll Call: President Barack Obama reupped his push Tuesday for the Senate to pass the USA Freedom Act by 12 a.m. Monday to avoid the Patriot Acts surveillance authorities from going dark. Is Lindsey Graham's only reason for running as pres to make sure Rand Paul does not win over GOP converts so they party can remain hawkish? Post Date: 2015-05-28 01:41:04 by Pericles

This is not a link to any article but I am getting the impression the Republicans who support wars and increasing the military's budget and the so called hawk mentality are really freaked out over Rand Paul and the only reason Graham is running is to make sure that Paul does not win Republican voters over to his side. Graham, was actually seen as sort of a less vocal hawk a few years ago. His current tough guy persona seems fake - like he was hired to play a part by a lobby group.

A lawyer seeking to free two chimpanzees from a state university told a judge Wednesday that their confinement for research purposes is akin to slavery, the involuntary detention of mentally ill people and imprisonment. Steven Wise, an attorney with the Nonhuman Rights Project, told Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Barbara Jaffe in a nearly two-hour hearing that Hercules and Leo are "autonomous and self-determining beings" who should be granted a writ of habeas corpus and be moved from Stony Brook University on Long Island to a sanctuary in Florida. "They're essentially in solitary confinement," Wise told the judge before a crowd of about 100 people packed into the ...

A decade in the making, the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is reaching its climax and as Congress hotly debates the biggest trade deal in a generation, its backers have turned on the cash spigot in the hopes of getting it passed. Were very much in the endgame, US trade representative Michael Froman told reporters over the weekend at a meeting of the 21-member Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum on the resort island of Boracay. His comments came days after TPP passed another crucial vote in the Senate. That vote, to give Barack Obama the authority to speed the bill through Congress, comes as the presidents own supporters, senior economists and a ...

A growing segment of the American population is waking up to the implications of the Jade Helm 15 military operation to be conducted by Special Forces in conjunction with local law enforcement, the FBI, DHS, the DEA and Border Patrol across the entire Southwest. This massive unprecedented exercise will also commence in June sooner than first announced and last for 10 weeks through the summer till September 15. The risk of it triggering civil unrest or that it may coincide with a potential false flag scenario followed by another possibly timed crisis situation is both feasible and real, despite mainstream medias ridicule dismissing any such possibilities as ...
