Donald Trump may be a fierce debater and a brash critic who is always happy to speak his mind and then some, but there seems to be one place the presidential hopeful is more than happy to lay low - church. Trump and his family attended the 10:30pm midnight mass service at Bethesda-By-The-Sea in West Palm Beach, Florida on Christmas Eve, and the billionaire businessman somehow managed to avoid the massive number of photographers and members of the press waiting outside to document his arrival. Instead he slipped inside unnoticed for the service, with the only photographs from the evening coming from some of his fellow churchgoers who uploaded them to social media. Scroll down for video

In the fall of 2001, in the aftermath of 9/11, as families grieved and the nation mourned, Washington swarmed with locusts of the human kind: wartime opportunists, lobbyists, lawyers, ex-members of Congress, bagmen for big donors: all of them determined to grab what they could for their corporate clients and rich donors while no one was looking.Across the land, the faces of Americans of every stripe were stained with tears. Here in New York, we still were attending memorial services for our firemen and police. But in the nations capital, within sight of a smoldering Pentagon that had been struck by one of the hijacked planes, the predator class was hard at work pursuing private ...

Tis the season for holiday music whether youre doing last-minute shopping at the mall or putting together a playlist for your Christmas dinner party. Its the one time of the year when Grandpa can belt out a song about donning gay apparel and sing Fa La La La La and Thumpety thump thump without blushing. We all know the classic carols like Silent Night and Joy to the World and festive favourites like Jingle Bells and Winter Wonderland. There are also songs about suspicions of adultery (I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus), stalking and threatening (Santa Claus is Coming to ...

Federal immigration authorities are planning a nationwide sweep of undocumented immigrants and families who are still in the United States even after being ordered by a judge to return home, according to U.S. officials. The move -- expected to begin next month if top administration officials give final approval -- comes in response to a recent uptick in illegal border crossings, the officials said. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are focusing their efforts on individuals who pose a threat to national security, public safety and border security, including individuals and their families who have received a final order of removal on or after January 1, 20 ...
More Than 1 In 4 Americans Now Believe the U.S. Government is the Enemy of the People Post Date: 2015-12-24 08:42:10 by Deckard

The Pew Research Center concluded that 27 percent of all registered voters describe the U.S. government as the enemy of the people. That percentage is thought to be lower than the overall average, as many non-voters are assumed to have an extremely negative or despondent view of the government as well. Lest you fall into the partisan trap of thinking that this is skewed by anti-Obama hatred on the right, 35% of Republicans say that they believe the federal government is the enemy, while 34% of Independents say the same thing. There are also 12% of Democrats who say that they would outrightly describe the government as the enemy of the people. Only ...

Robert and Adlynn Harte argued that cops should have known field tests are unreliable.KSHBLast Friday a federal judge in Kansas turned away a civil rights lawsuit by a Leawood couple whose house was searched in 2012 based on a visit to a hydroponics store and a field test that incorrectly identified tea in their garbage as marijuana. In a summary judgment, U.S. District Judge John Lungstrum said police acted legally and reasonably in planning and conducting the fruitless raid on the home of Robert and Adlynn Harte, former CIA agents whose children were 7 and 13 at the time. The family was held at gunpoint for two and a half hours while Johnson County sheriff's deputies went through the ...

The number of people who died of drug overdoses in 2014 is double those who died in 2000. Now that we have lost the war, what are we going to do about it?It's time, finally, to face the ugly truth. We've lost the war on drugs in America. We need a new playbook, now, before more lives are lost. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said last week that fatal drug overdoses in America were the highest in recorded history in 2014. The news is grim. But what the new CDC data say about certain aspects of American society more broadly right now is even scarier, to be honest.CDC reported that fatal drug overdoses killed nearly 50,000 Americans in 2014, which is a new ...

by William Norman GriggLakeview, TX Police in Lakeview, Texas are routinely conducting traffic stops without probable cause that a violation has occurred -- and have packaged these unlawful detentions in a way that has earned media approval. The pretext offered by the department is its "Doing it Right Safe Driving Campaign," through which officers who lurk in the shadows like rapists stop drivers who appear to be following all of the rules are stopped and then given Starbucks gift certificates -- but only if a scan of the driver's license and registration reveals no outstanding warrants or violations. The confused and anxious motorists are not told the purpose of ...

The US Federal Government Finally Admits the War on Drugs is a Failure Post Date: 2015-12-18 09:50:34 by Deckard

By Dylan Charles The war on drugs officially kicked off in 1971 when president Richard Nixon addressed the nation in a press conference explaining how the recent passage of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970 would provide the legal framework and material support for a new kind of war, the war on drugs. We must wage what I have called total war against public enemy number one in the United States, the problem of dangerous drugs. Richard Nixon, 1972 His address spoke of the need for a coordinated federal response that addressed both the demand side, and the supply side of the issue, noting that although America had the highest rate of heroin addicts in the ...
Donald Trump: Congress ‘Threw In The Towel’ on Budget Deal Post Date: 2015-12-18 07:55:43 by cranky

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump told Breitbart News that Republicans in Congress threw in the towel when drafting the 2016 budget. The only special interest not being served by our government is the American people, he said late Thursday night. If anyone needed more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker [Paul] Ryan, Trump said about the Omnibus spending plan, which will likely be finalized on Friday morning. The budget allows $1.1 trillion in 2016 spending. To avoid a government shutdown, a cowardly threat from an incompetent President, the ...

Give this man a medal. In just two minutes, blacksmith Trenton Tye of Purgatory Ironworks uses science to hilarious effect to mock 9/11 truthers who insist the 2001 terrorist attacks were a conspiracy. And why are these nutters convinced the whole thing was an inside job? Because fire cant melt steel (Seriously, read through that entire 9/11 conspiracy theory thread. It is amazing.) Tye, a professional metalworker based in Georgia, has had enough. He filmed the following video to prove to science-hating 9/11 conspiracy mongers once and for all that structural steel will absolutely lose its structural integrity if it gets too hot: So I am taking time out of my busy day to try ...
If You Want Security, Pursue Liberty Post Date: 2015-12-17 10:24:57 by Deckard

Judging by his prime-time speech last week, the final year of Barack Obamas presidency will be marked by increased militarism abroad and authoritarianism at home. The centerpiece of the presidents speech was his demand for a new law forbidding anyone on the federal governments terrorist watch list from purchasing a firearm. There has never been a mass shooter who was on the terrorist watch list, so this proposal will not increase security. However, it will decrease liberty. Federal officials can have an American citizen placed on the terrorist watch list based solely on their suspicions that the individual might be involved in terrorist activity. Individuals placed on ...

Israeli archaeologists discovered a 1,500-year-old slab of marble with Hebrew inscriptions (pictured) by Kursi near the Sea of Galilee in Israels north, reaffirming a Jewish presence at what Christians believe to be the location of Jesus Miracle of the Swine. University of Haifa researchers found the marble during an excavation in Kursi, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The discovery is the first piece of evidence confirming the existence of a Jewish or early Christian community in Kursi, mentioned in the New Testament as the place that Jesus performed the Miracle of the Swine. According to Christian tradition, Jesus healed two men said to have been possessed by ...
