Will Trump scuttle the Paris Agreement, or keep it? Post Date: 2016-01-08 12:29:40 by interpreter

If Trump has any common sense, or business sense, he will at least try to follow it, but the goals for the US are very hard to meet. If he doesn't, and it's business as usual, all of his Real Estate holdings in South Florida and Manhattan, now valued at over $2 billion, will soon be underwater and not worth 2 cents. It may not happen in Trump's lifetime, but in his children's and grandchildren's, costing them billions. See http://sealevel.climatecentral.org

KUSA - January 8, 2016 marks what would have been the King's 81st birthday. The "King of Rock and Roll" is easily one of the most celebrated and influential musicians of the 20th century. It's been almost four decades since Elvis Presley's death, but most people can still quickly name their favorite song. "The King" is regarded as the best selling solo artist in the history of recorded music, with an estimated record sales of around 600 million units worldwide. Tens of thousands are expected to be in Graceland Friday for his birthday celebration. Poster Comment:

TRUMP: I'll go down 5 points in the polls by saying this, but I think Obama's tears were real Colin Campbell Jan. 6, 2016, 8:40 AM Real-estate mogul Donald Trump in an interview Wednesday declined to take a shot at President Barack Obama for tearing up the day before. During a conversation with Fox News, Trump said he believed Obama's tears were genuine. "I actually think he was sincere. I'll probably go down about 5 points in the polls by saying that," the Republican presidential front-runner joked. "But I think he was sincere." Tears rolled down Obama's face on Tuesday when he discussed the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary ...
Oregon Militia begs for food... PETA Vegans to the Rescue!!! Post Date: 2016-01-07 15:31:47 by Willie Green

One of the ranchers said it tasted like salmon.Things the Oregon militia is big on: guns, hating the government, liberty. Things it is not so big on: planning, foresight, irony. At least, that seems like a reasonable conclusion to be drawn from the groups widely publicized Facebook appeal for the most basic of supplies, including cold weather socks, snacks, energy drinks, equipment for cold weather, snow camo, gear. A response to the apparently not-so-well-regulated militias call for help was answered by PETA, aka People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.According to its Twitter and website, PETA staffers appeared in-person at the Malheur National ...

She is thankful for gay marriage and volunteering for the Hillary. You'll have to view the video at the link if you think you can stomach it. Hilarry's projectile hurl inducing video

Athens, GA On the off chance further evidence was needed that Orwells dystopian portent has become reality, the stunning case of Officer Jay Park proves it, hands down. In September, a University of Georgia student, concerned his underage friend had imbibed far too much alcohol and might need medical attention, contacted campus police for help. When Park arrived at the scene, his supervisor, Sgt. Gene Rankin, ordered the campus officer to arrest the drunken student. Park balked, saying he could not arrest an obviously unwell youth who appeared to be suffering alcohol poisoning, because as he rightly cited to his superiors Georgias 2014 Medical ...
Congress sends health law repeal to Obama for first time Post Date: 2016-01-06 20:45:27 by buckeroo

WASHINGTON (AP) The GOP-led Congress sent legislation to President Barack Obama Wednesday repealing his signature health law, fulfilling a promise to Republican voters in a presidential election year but inviting a certain veto. The nearly party-line vote in the House was 240-181. The legislation already passed the Senate last year under special rules protecting it from Democratic obstruction, so it goes straight to the White House. Republicans boasted of a signal achievement, saying they were forcing Obama to face up to the failures of his law while illustrating stark political choices in an election year. "We are confronting the president with the hard, honest truth," ...

Police departments all over the world have physical fitness requirements for new recruits. Their argument is that strength and fitness are necessary for the job of policing. But as time goes on, the standards for officers keeping in shape are usually not maintained, making it curious why the standards were put in place at all for new officers. But over the past decade, an increasing number of officers even seasoned ones have been doing a lot more than keeping in shape on the job
they have been getting pretty huge. Now some people are wondering if there could be a connection between this and incidences of police brutality and violence happening all over the United ...

First, Gary Johnson will have to run for the Libertarian ...
Looking for easy simple invention ideas Post Date: 2016-01-05 19:44:55 by no gnu taxes

Hey, I'm not looking for anything that could be marketed. I'm just looking for ideas a 4th grader could use in a class where an invention is expected. It has to be something that can be constructed and actually used. My idea is a "finicky cat feeder." You put a bended piece of plexiglass (in a tunnel shape) onto a sheet of plywood. You cut holes into the plexiglass where food can be dropped and allow the cat to stalk pieces of food along a path. Any cat owner knows a cat eats better when it stalks its food. Something along that line.

Dale Bumpers, former Arkansas Governor and Senator, lived a long life, most of it spent in "public service". But it is strangely apt that he should have died as his protégé Bill Clinton's serial abuse of women should be back in the news. Until Trump came along, Republicans had steered clear of Clinton's sexual pathologies for the entire millennium thus far, following the mordant advice of my own senator, Bob Smith. ("He's won. He always wins. Let's move on.") If one had to date precisely the moment when it became clear that Clinton had won against multiple accusations any of which would today sink anybody else, it would be the speech Dale ...

Why Police Need Constructive Criticism Post Date: 2016-01-05 08:46:53 by Deckard

The trial of Officer William Porter, the first of six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray, ended in a mistrial last week after the jury heard sharply conflicting accounts about the inner workings of the Baltimore Police Department. The prosecution emphasized the departments comprehensive and clearly written policies and procedures, while the defense asserted that, in practice, officers ignore the formal rules as a matter of course. The two accounts revealed the limitations of a legal approach to police reform, and the necessity for departments and officers to self-critique their practices.Often, when another officer provides critical feedback that does not affirm the ...

BURNS, Ore. The FBI is leading the investigation into the armed occupation of a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon and says it will work with local and state authorities to seek a peaceful resolution to the situation. What this resolution could look like remained unclear on Monday. Federal authorities said they would not elaborate on how they plan to respond, while the occupiers said Monday they did not believe law enforcement would try to force them off of the refuge. The end result was an odd status quo in eastern Oregon, as a remote wildlife refuge usually known for bird-watching was again the focus of national attention. The occupation followed a peaceful march and ...

Texas Gov Greg Abbott criticized President Barack Obama's plan to move ahead with possible executive actions on guns in a tweet in which he told the Commander-in-Chief to 'come & take' the state's guns. Obama said in his weekly radio address that he is looking for ways to keep guns out of the hands of 'a dangerous few' without depending on Congress to pass a law on the fraught subject of gun control. He plans to meet his attorney general, Loretta Lynch, on Monday to see what executive actions might be possible. Steps to strengthen background checks could come this week. At a rally in Biloxi, Mississippi, tonight Donald Trump also pledged to undo any action ...

Melissa Klein, the owner of the bakery that refused to bake a cake for a homosexual wedding ceremony, has revealed that the state of Oregon seized all of her bank accounts weeks before she planned to pay the settlement from the suit brought against her by the couple. According to Fox News, Klein and her husband were hit with a penalty of over $135,000 in July payable to the lesbian couple who cited "emotional suffering" for the mom-and-pop bakers holding to their Christian beliefs. The state, ignoring the couple's religious liberty, agreed and said the small business, Sweet Cakes by Melissa, couldn't discriminate against the rights of LGBT customers. The Kleins quickly ...

Wayne Rogers, best known to TV audiences for playing Captain Trapper John McIntyre on M*A*S*H, died on Thursday after suffering complications from pneumonia, his family told Entertainment Tonight. He was 82. Rogers first major acting role was on the ABC Western Stagecoach West, which debuted in October 1960 and ran for 38 episodes. A little over a decade (and numerous gigs) later, he was cast as Trapper John on CBS TV adaptation of M*A*S*H, assuming the role played by Elliott Gould in the 1970 film. Bidding M*A*S*H adieu after three seasons, Rogers went on to star in NBCs detective drama City of Angels and the CBS sitcom House Calls. His other TV acting ...
