America’s Ruling Class vs. All Post Date: 2016-01-29 08:37:54 by Stoner

Sitting back and observing the current civil war happening within the Republican party should come as no surprise to anyone who resides outside the beltway of Washington, D.C. Pundits, thinkers, writers, and radio hosts who I once admired, have now lost credibility as they have bestowed upon themselves the bastion of what is and isnt true conservatism. Yet, while the civil war wages within the party, the party itself does a disservice to this nation for fighting the wrong battle at the wrong time as the war for the heart of this country wages on. To myself, this has always been the main issue in regards to the Republicans. For far too long theyve fought for the soul ...
Trump, Fox, And The Civil War of the Right Post Date: 2016-01-29 01:18:29 by nativist nationalist

The conservative movement is starting to look a lot like Syria. Baited, taunted, mocked by Fox News, Donald Trump told Roger Ailes what he could do with his Iowa debate, and marched off to host a Thursday night rally for veterans at the same time in Des Moines. Message: I speak for the silent majority, Roger, not you, not Megyn Kelly, not Fox News. Diss me, and I will do fine without Fox. And so the civil-sectarian war on the right widens and deepens. And two questions arise: Will the conservative movement and Republican Party unite behind Trump if he is the nominee? And will the movement and party come together if Trump is not the nominee? A breakdown of the balance of forces in this ...
Donald Trump Is Shocking, Vulgar and Right Post Date: 2016-01-28 19:48:40 by no gnu taxes

About 15 years ago, I said something nasty on CNN about Donald Trumps hair. I cant now remember the context, assuming there was one. In any case, Trump saw it and left a message the next day. Its true you have better hair than I do, Trump said matter-of-factly. But I get more pussy than you do. Click. At the time, Id never met Trump and I remember feeling amused but also surprised hed say something like that. Now the pattern seems entirely familiar. The message had all the hallmarks of a Trump attack: shocking, vulgar and indisputably true. Not everyone finds it funny. On my street in Northwest Washington, D.C., theres never ...
Fox News’s Rupert Murdoch Endorsed Obamatrade Post Date: 2016-01-28 14:44:19 by nativist nationalist

Donald Trumps decision not to participate in the Fox News debate has shined a spotlight on the advocacy efforts and undisclosed conflict of interests of the news networks founder, Rupert Murdoch. These advocacy efforts may perhaps explain some of the motivations underlying the networks treatment of the GOP frontrunner. As Trumps campaign manager Corey Lewandowski explained in a Wednesday morning radio interview, there were suspicions that Trump would not be treated fairly by the network and would not be given a fair show in the debate. Lewandowski cited Foxs recent actionssuch as the networks release of a series of ...

From the Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...705f0c-c11e-11e5-bcda-62a36b394160_story.html Anger over the levels of lead in the water in Flint has led the mayor to declare a state of emergency. By Lenny Bernstein and Brady Dennis January 24 at 11:00 AM The scale of government neglect in the water crisis in Flint, Mich., could place the city alongside some of the most infamous environmental disasters in U.S. history, from New Yorks Love Canal to the Hinkley, Calif., saga of Erin Brockovich fame. The debacle ranks among the worst on numbers alone, said Paul Mohai, who studies environmental-justice issues at the University of Michigan. With a community of 100,000 ...

Why Robots Mean Interest Rates Could Go Even Lower In The Future Post Date: 2016-01-24 22:56:08 by A K A Stone

If robots rise, interest rates will fall. That was the assumption of delegates at the World Economic Forums annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, as revolutions in automation and artificial intelligence reshape how economies work. The argument goes like this: As machines become more and more advanced, many workers will lose their jobs and others will see their wages fall. New technology will also increase the chances of a 1990s-style jump in productivity. Those forces will combine to restrain prices across the world economy, meaning that the era of slow inflation now challenging central bankers may only prove a sign of things to come. Technological progress will put a lid on how ...

The FBI is investigating whether members of Hillary Clintons inner circle cut and pasted material from the governments classified network so that it could be sent to her private e-mail address, former State Department security officials say. Clinton and her top aides had access to a Pentagon-run classified network that goes up to the Secret level, as well as a separate system used for Top Secret communications. The two systems the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) are not connected to the unclassified system, known as the Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network ...
From Household to Nation: The Middle American Populism of Pat Buchanan Post Date: 2016-01-23 19:46:53 by nativist nationalist

If there was any major difference between the presidential campaign of Pat Buchanan in 1995 and his first run at the Republican nomination in 1992, it was the relative calm with which his enemies greeted the announcement of his second candidacy and his rapid move last year to the forefront of the Republican field. Rabbi Avi Weiss and his goon platoons still found time and someone else's money to dog Buchanan's steps from New Hampshire to California, and occasionally some other hired thug, usually a failed neoconservative politician, would emerge from the political graveyard to moan about Buchanan's fascism, his nativism, or his racism. But in ...
Against The Establishment Post Date: 2016-01-22 11:37:18 by calcon

It's a pretty sad day when Joy Reid of MSNBC makes more sense to me than National Review. Check out her diagnosis (which mostly comes from moderate Republican turned liberalish independent Bruce Bartlett) at 6:45. It's accurate -- the establishment/elite has been selling lies to everyone outside the donor class for years. They use their power to enact their own priorities into law, while telling the rest of us "it's too hard" or "it will scare the moderates." And for years we went along with this. Well, as she notes, the issue of immigration has caused this bargain -- the elites get their actual agenda, everyone else gets lies and empty promises -- to ...
The Simpsons Predicted a Trump Presidency 15 Years Ago Post Date: 2016-01-21 17:06:58 by no gnu taxes

In a lot of ways, The Simpsons is one of the most forward-thinking programs on television. Case in point: Fifteen years ago, its writers predicted Donald Trump would run for president. And here we are. In Season 11's 17th episode, "Bart to the Future," we catch a glimpse of what it would be like if Lisa eventually became president. After her first press conference, she retires to the Oval Office, where she opens a meeting by saying, "As you know, we've inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump." You can see the rest of the hilarity (Bart gets tackled by the Secret Service) in the clip above.
Hillary's Saps Post Date: 2016-01-21 09:41:33 by nativist nationalist

Charles McCullough, the Inspector General of the US Intelligence Community, has informed Congress that Hillary Clinton had "several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the confidential, secret, and top secret/sap levels" on that private homebrew server she kept in some guy's bathroom closet in Colorado. "Sap" stands for "special access program" and is the level above "top secret" - or, in laymen's terms, super-duper extra-top secret. It's generally accepted that much of that "sap" material made its way from Hillary's inbox to hostile intelligence agencies around the world. Had ...
Don’t Let Chis Christie’s Tough Guy Act Fool You—He’s Terrible On Immigration And Protecting American Workers Post Date: 2016-01-20 12:18:13 by nativist nationalist

His girth aside, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has rarely registered a blip on the 2016 campaigns radar. The Real Clear Politics poll average currently finds him in 6th place with 3.5%. Unlike in the cases of Walker, Bush, Fiorina, Carson, Rubio, and Cruz, the Republican Establishment and the Main Stream Media has never pretended he was surging and about to take Trump out. In fact, hes never broken 5% in the polls. Despite this, George Will (or his intern) recently suggested that Christie may very well be at the center of the stage at the Cleveland convention. [Keep an eye on Chris Christie, Washington Post, January 15, 2016]. Unlikelybut Christie could ...

How Montana Road Fatalities Doubled After Speed Limit Law Was Implemented Post Date: 2016-01-19 19:21:14 by Deckard

This is an obvious call to action. Something must be done. We need more laws, more money for enforcement and more citations written Speed Kills! Not so fast says a follow up study just completed by National Motorists Association. The study shows the safest period on Montanas Interstate highways was when there were no daytime speed limits or enforceable speed laws. The doubling of fatal accidents occurred after Montana implemented its new safety program; complete with federal funding, artificially low speed limits and full enforcement. Yes we all want safer highways, but who are the players and whom can we believe? How can fatal accidents double after we put in place our ...
