The parents of a baby injured by a flash-bang grenade during a no-knock multi-agency task force raid in Georgia, will be awarded $3.6 million after a federal judge's decision on Friday. 19-month-old Bounkham Phonesavah (Baby Bou Bou) spent weeks in a burn unit after deputies with a Cornelia Police Department SWAT team threw a flash bang grenade directly into his crib, which exploded in his face, leaving him permanently disfigured. The raid was conducted at around 3:00 am for a drug suspect that wasn't even in the house. By happen-stance, the Phonesavanh family was staying at the residence with relatives because their home in Wisconsin had just burned down. "[The ...

Bannon of Breitbart News Daily on Monday morning. After the South Carolina primary, Fingleton penned an article for Forbes explaining why Donald Trump will be Americas next President. The short answer, as he explained on Breitbart News Daily, is that Trump holds positions uniquely in resonance with the American people on immigration and trade. This includes Trumps opposition to the Trans-Pacific Trade Partnership (TPP), which Fingleton conceded he was a lonely voice among Forbes contributors for ...

In an interview with CNN Money's Laurie Segall, Olson said there are serious implications to an FBI victory over Apple in its case to force the company's assistance in unlocking an iPhone used by San Bernardino terrorist Syed Rizwan Farook. Last week, a federal magistrate judge issued an order compelling Apple to write purposely vulnerable code in hopes of defeating a passcode lock on Farook's iPhone 5c, leaving it open to a brute-force attack. The Department of Justice cites as its legal foundation the All Writs Act of 1789, a statute granting federal courts sweeping authority if no other judicial options are available. It was learned this week that the FBI is asserting All ...

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald J. Trump on Friday, a major turn in a wild race and one that gives the New York businessman a major boost as he heads into the pivotal Super Tuesday contests. Mr. Christie was a candidate for president himself until he came in sixth place in New Hampshires primary. Seeing his political career facing an abrupt conclusion following his failed presidential campaign, he expressed his anger Friday at Senator Marco Rubio, who he was said to be upset with, blaming the super PAC backing the Florida senator for halting his momentum in New Hampshire with a string of slash-and-burn ads. The endorsement came a day after Mr. Rubio, in ...

Albuquerque, NM Doing business with former drug war enforces might make the average cannabis enthusiast a bit concerned, but many of them describe dramatic conversions borne from seeing the benefits of marijuana for the sickest of patients, including children with epilepsy or cancer-stricken relatives. Ive done a total about-face on my views, said Ben Percy, who worked as an Illinois State Police officer for 27 years and says they took quite a bit of money, drugs and criminals off the road. Percy is now general manager of Trinity Compassionate Care Center in Peoria. While it certainly is noteworthy to see former cops do an about face on ...
Cop Who Killed Kansas Gunman a 'Tremendous Hero' Post Date: 2016-02-26 13:00:34 by Deckard

A man who stormed into a Kansas factory where he worked and shot 15 people, killing three, had just been served with a protective order that probably triggered the attack, authorities said Friday. The assault at the Excel Industries lawnmower parts plant in the small town of Hesston ended when a police officer killed the gunman in a shootout. Harvey County Sheriff T. Walton described the officer as a "tremendous hero" because 200 or 300 people were still in the factory and the "shooter wasn't done by any means." "Had that Hesston officer not done what he did, this would be a whole lot more tragic," Walton said. The sheriff identified the gunman as Cedric ...

Three SUNY Albany students who claimed they were victims of a racially motivated attack may have been the aggressors, police said Thursday and they'll soon face charges. The students will be arrested about four weeks after allegedly assaulting a passenger on a city bus, then lying about what happened, leading to national outrage over an apparently fabricated story. The three students Alexis Briggs, from Huntington, Ariel Agudio, from Elmira Heights, and Asha Burwell, from Huntington Station will be charged with third-degree assault, police said. Agudio and Burwell will also be charged for falsely reporting the incident. The women, who are all 20 ...

In a Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump racewhich, the Beltway keening aside, seems the probable outcome of the primarieswhat are the odds the GOP can take the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court? If Republicans can unite, not bad, not bad at all. Undeniably, Democrats open with a strong hand. There is that famed blue wall, those 18 states and D.C. with a combined 242 electoral votes, just 28 shy of victory, that have gone Democratic in every presidential election since 1988. The wall contains all of New England save New Hampshire; the Acela corridor (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland); plus Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois and ...

Philadelphia, PA In an asinine blow to freedom of speech, U.S. District Judge Mark Kearney of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania issued a ruling Friday stating that citizens do not have a First Amendment right to record the police in public. The ruling was based on the cases of Geraci v. City of Philadelphia and Fields v. City of Philadelphia. Both Geraci and Fields filed suit against the city of Philadelphia claiming their First and Fourth Amendment rights were violated when officers confiscated their cellphones after they filmed police or were barred from filming police. According to The Legal Intelligencer, Neither of the plaintiffs, Richard Fields nor Amanda Geraci, ...
A new miracle drug prevents aging [Full Thread] Post Date: 2016-02-24 22:28:02 by interpreter

A new miracle drug called pterostilbene prevents aging. It also prevents heart disease, and most forms of cancer, and Alzheimers. Actually, it is not exactly new. Scientists have known for years that people who drink red wine with their meals live longer than people who don't. Now they have isolated the ingredient that prevents aging and made it available in pill form as a dietary supplement. And it is cheap ($18 for a hundred day supply at Amazon.com). Old age is scary. I am now 69 years old which is as old as I want to get, and now I can stay at 69 thank God. With all the advances in medicine nowadays, I have no doubt that people will some day live forever like the Bible says.

(CNN)President Barack Obama said Wednesday it would be "difficult" for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to explain his decision not to consider a Supreme Court nominee without looking like he's motivated by politics. Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid suggested a Republican, Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, as a potential nominee. A source confirmed to CNN that the White House is vetting Sandoval, although he has not been actively involved in the process. "Neither Governor Sandoval nor his staff have been contacted by or talked to the Obama Administration regarding any potential vetting for the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court," according to a statement ...
Should Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen be worried about life under a President Donald Trump? (Trump wants to audit the Federal Reserve) Post Date: 2016-02-24 13:00:13 by A K A Stone

Trump is looking more and more like the potential Republican presidential nominee after his landslide victory in the Nevada caucuses on Tuesday. And just two days ago, Trump tweeted that he thinks the Fed should be audited. This is something that fellow Republican candidate Ted Cruz supports as well as former candidate Rand Paul. Trump chided Cruz in his tweet for missing a Senate vote on an "Audit the Fed" bill in January. The bill failed 53-44. That legislation was proposed by Paul. Republican candidate Marco Rubio and Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders both voted in favor of it.
Colorado To Fine Cops $15,000 Every Time They Try To Stop You From Recording Them Post Date: 2016-02-24 10:46:26 by Deckard

After generations of corruption, the crimes committed by police in the line of duty are finally being exposed, now that most people have the ability to record police encounters with their cellphones. This new development has obviously infuriated police, and cops across the US have made many attempts to prevent themsel In Colorado, lawmakers are considering a fine for police officers who attempt to stop people from filming, or who attempt to destroy or delete the recording after the fact. A $15,000 fine is being considered for officers who attempt to violate a persons rights in this way. The bill is currently filed as HB 15-1290. Primarily, it came up as a result of the number ...

Seventh Circuit US Court of Appeals overturns an Indiana traffic stop because looking at a phone behind the wheel is not evidence of texting.Looking down at your phone while driving in Indiana is no longer a crime. The Seventh Circuit US Court of Appeals set that precedent last week in dismissing charges against Gregorio Paniagua-Garcia, a man who glanced at his phone while behind the wheel on September 27, 2014. Under Indiana law, it is unlawful to use a cell phone to type, send or read a text message or e-mail while driving. All other uses of the phone are perfectly acceptable. "[This includes] making and receiving phone calls, inputting addresses, reading driving directions and maps ...

My car is making a weird noise every time I apply the brakes. It only happens when I apply the brakes. It's not a schreeching or chirping noise you might hear from the sensor when your brake pads are getting thin. It's also not a metallic whine you might hear when your break pads are gone and you are getting metal on metal contact. It's like a low pitched groan you might hear from your digestive system after eating bad shellfish, only a lot louder. Any idea what this might be?

from the stop-saying-that dept Over and over again as people keep talking about the Apple / FBI encryption stuff, I keep seeing the same line pop up. It's something along the lines of "but the FBI needs to know what's on that phone, so if Apple can help, why shouldn't it." Let's debunk that myth. The FBI absolutely does not need to know what's on that phone. It might not even care very much about what's on that phone. As the Grugq ably explained last week, there's almost certainly nothing of interest on the phone. As he notes, Farook destroyed his and his wife's personal phones, indicating that if there were anything truly important, he would have ...

George Bush the First's electoral victory map of 1988: He won California and two-thirds of New England. With South Carolina's Republican primary and Nevada's Democrat caucus behind us, the potential match-ups for November are fast shrinking. On the GOP side, there's a frontrunner, two weakish second-place guys, and a fourth candidate who'll hang in at least until Ohio. The exit-polling suggests Donald Trump is drawing his voters from across all demographic groups and ideological inclinations. If Ben Carson were to pull out, most of his support would go to Trump. If John Kasich were to pull out, most of his support would go to Rubio, but some to Trump. If Rubio were to ...
