Last week, a 34-year-old man apparently committed an act of terrorism against the U.S. power grid when he ran his Toyota Camry through the gate of a solar energy plant just outside of Las Vegas. The driver, identified as Mohammad Mesmarian, allegedly set fire to the car after the crash in an attempt to maximize damage. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday. Mesmarian was arrested at a campground 30 miles from the incident on Thursday. The engine supplier for Lockheed Martin’s highly-sought F-35 fighter jet has suspended deliveries while an investigation into a December accident proceeds, Defense News reported Wednesday, stalling hundreds of planned jet deliveries. The Pentagon’s F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO), the Defense Contract Management Agency and engine maker Pratt & Whitney came to a “mutual agreement” to block new engine deliveries on Dec. 27, the JPO told Defense News. The Hill reports the U.S. Department of Justice issued the legal opinion to the U.S. Postal Service and independent mail services Tuesday in response to several recent Biden administration decisions that allow abortion drugs to be sold through the mail or at a pharmacy.
