MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (WHBL) - A former Menomonee Falls High School teacher is awaiting sentencing in June after pleading no contest to three charges of having sex with a minor. Nine other charges against April Novak were dropped in exchange, and she faces up to 18 years in prison. Novak admitted to having a mutual sexual relationship with a student from October 2015 to December 2015, and resigned during the school district's investigation. Her husband filed for legal separation after she was charged.

PEORIA — A former Trewyn School teacher was sentenced Wednesday to four years in prison for having sex with one of her students. Veronica Dixon, 29, who lives in Decatur, was found guilty of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse in February after a three-day trial. Peoria County jurors deliberated for about 10 hours over two days before finding her guilty. The four- year sentence was the minimum possible. She had faced up to 15 years behind bars.
