After confirming 65 Trump nominees to posts ranging from ambassadorships to the Federal Communications Commission, the Senate adjourned Thursday for a month-long break. Wrapping up the chambers business, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) locked in nine pro forma sessions, to be held every three days during the August recess. In a Facebook post published Friday, Craig Sawman Sawyer, a Marine veteran, former Navy SEAL, sniper, combat instructor and the owner of Tactical Insider, warned of a gruesome massacre if President Trump is removed from office. Im hearing serious rumblings of a hostile, illegal coup against our democratically elected President by seditious, deep-state subversives funded by Soros & other globalists. Very disturbing, he wrote, adding: Patriots, this would be nothing less than an act of war against the American people. It would be the removal of our boldest defender & last possibility of maintaining our protective Constitution. Under the boot ...
Senate confirms dozens of Trump's nominees in an outbreak of bipartisan productivity after failed healthcare vote (Make Swamp Great Again) Post Date: 2017-08-05 15:36:11 by Hondo68

What a difference a little bipartisanship makes. The Senate wrapped up an unusually productive week after the failed Republican healthcare vote with several smaller-scale legislative accomplishments. In a flurry of action Thursday, the Senate confirmed dozens of President Trump's nominees that had been logjammed amid the partisan standoff over the GOP efforts to repeal Obamacare. Ambassadors, agency staff and officials in the defense apparatus all saw their nominations sail to easy confirmation. More nominees have been confirmed this week than had been previously so far in the entire year, aides said. Among them were former Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison to be the U.S. permanent ...
City Slaps Fines On Businesses For Putting Signs On Windows Without Permits (Classic protection racket enforced by city fines) Post Date: 2017-08-05 13:16:55 by Deckard

WICKER PARK A number of neighborhood small business owners are complaining that the city is overzealously policing sign permits, saying theyve had to pay thousands of dollars in fines for words painted on their shop windows. It just seems unfair to make you get a permit for every window panel, said Scott Toth, owner of Craft Pizza at 1252 N. Damen Ave. Toth, who has been ticketed four times, hired a lawyer and appeared in court twice about the matter. He said he decided to remove the signs in all four windows and pay a $1,000 fine that had been reduced with the help of his attorney. Toth had paid a contractor to paint boiled ...
Four charged with leaks from Trump administration as attorney general vows crackdown Post Date: 2017-08-05 11:57:05 by Justified

Four people have been charged with leaking information from the Trump administration, the US attorney general announced on Friday, as he took an aggressive stand against the deluge of leaks that have plagued the first six months of the presidency. Jeff Sessions, who was taunted by his boss, President Donald Trump, for being weak on leakers, said that he would leave no stone unturned in the hunt for the culprits. His remarks came after the highly-damaging, and highly unusual, leak of transcripts of Mr Trumps telephone calls with the leaders of Mexico and Australia. "No one is entitled to surreptitiously fight their battles in the media by revealing sensitive government ...

By Dena Aubin NEW YORK (Reuters) - Young immigrants denied credit by Wells Fargo Bank because they are not permanent U.S. residents can sue the bank under a post-Civil War law barring discrimination on the basis of immigration status, a federal judge ruled. In a decision on Thursday, U.S. District Judge Maxine Chesney in San Francisco rejected Wells Fargo's argument that lenders are permitted under a more recent federal anti-discrimination law to consider immigration status before granting loans. Filed in January, the proposed class action accused Wells Fargo of denying student loans and credit cards to immigrants granted work permits under the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood ...

t didnt take long for pro-immigration groups to criticize President Trumps decision to promote Gen. John Kelly to be his new White House Chief of Staff, and their choir of nonsense was quickly joined by the ultimate voice of division and nonsense. No, not Black Lives Matter
but youre in the right ballpark. On Monday, shortly after Kelly was sworn into his new position, the Council of American-Islamic Relations tweeted a warning about the retired Marine general. We condemn John F. Kellys islamaphopic ideology in the strongest possible terms, the New York chapter of CAIR tweeted. Islamaphobic? We thought it was spelled Islamophobic. Youd think ...
The Libertarian Split Continues As “Blood And Soil” Speech Triggers Another Racial Witch Hunt Post Date: 2017-08-04 16:46:41 by Anthem

The split between left-leaning and right-leaning libertarians has reached a fever pitch after Jeff Deist, Director of the Mises Institute, gave an iconic speech during his annual Mises University event about blood and soil libertarianism, an idea encompassing cultural conservatism as a barricade against state power. It is reasonable to believe that a more libertarian society would be less libertine and more culturally conservative for the simple reason that as the state shrinks in importance and power, the long-suppressed institutions of civil society grow in importance and power, Deist said. And in a more libertarian society, its harder to impose ...

There are the important questions which matter and should be asked of anyone who discusses politics. Unfortunately, most people are oblivious to seeking these deeper insights. They are deferential to what they learned in school and from their peers, from their willfully ignorant parents, and from the regime media. They are unaware of the post-WWII creation by the National Security State of synthetic liberal and conservative ideological movements which sought to rationalize the projection of power and hegemony of the American empire. The American people have been pawns on the deep states chessboard for seven decades. One must employ what ...
Legislation Proposed To Remove Cannabis From Schedule 1 Drug List Post Date: 2017-08-03 10:09:03 by Deckard

As of right now, cannabis is considered a schedule 1 drug in the United States. The government has it listed with other drugs such as heroin and LSD. But an ambitious Senator thinks that should change, and proposed legislation to remove cannabis from the Schedule 1 list. With no known overdose amount, cannabis should be the furthest thing from a schedule 1 drug. Schedule 1 narcotics are described as a drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse, a drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical treatment use in the U.S., and a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or substance under medical supervision. But putting it in the same category ...

The disabled man is now fighting back. Kyle Wolfe was legally crossing 19th Street in downtown Denver last month when he says the light changed before he could make it across. Just five feet from the sidewalk, Wolfe was then run over by an SUV. Wolfe who was injured during the accident and whose wheelchair was now totaled was then issued a citation by a Denver police officer for disobeying a traffic signal. Most Americans support legalizing marijuana for recreational use and a strong majority believe it should at least be available for medical reasons, according to a new poll. The latest Harvard-Harris survey found that 49 percent of Americans polled believe marijuana should be legalized for both medical and personal use. Thirty-seven percent say it should be legalized solely for medicinal purposes, meaning that 86 percent of respondents support legalizing the plant in some form. Only 14 percent say marijuana should be illegal. The findings come as Attorney General Jeff Sessions is believed to be readying a crackdown on marijuana users. The Justice Department is expected to release a report ...

We are still trying to sever the contract, said Assistant County Executive Ed Ward. Outgoing Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, who was recently indicted on federal corruption charges, has been urged to ban the artist from performing. According to local legislators and Nassau County Attorney Carnell T. Foskey, because the coliseum is county-owned, the concert would violate local law 3-2016, which prohibits the county from doing business with any company participating in the economic boycott of Israel. This is the first time the law is being tested. The controversy began when the Republican legislator Howard J. Kopel, who represents a large Jewish population, asked Foskey to ...
Stossel: Stop! You Need a License To Do that Job! Post Date: 2017-08-02 05:30:46 by Deckard

"Bottleneckers" use occupational licensing to screw competitors and innovation in the name of keeping us safe.Whether you're a doctor, an electrician, a teacher, a cab driver, a hair stylisteven a tour guide!the government increasingly demands that you get a license before you are allowed to work in your chosen profession. In the 1950s, only about one in 20 workers needed the government's blessing to do their jobs. Today, that figure is more than one in three. Because of safety issues and concerns about accountability, many people think occupational licensing is a good idea. Yet licensing doesn't prevent fraud and incompetence (in some cases, it even ...

Buffalo, NY In the land of the free, playing football in your neighborhood street can be a criminal act which can often be met with police force. Kids in a Buffalo neighborhood were about to experience what playing football looks like in a police state that is, until Officer Patrick McDonald showed up to the call. Time and again, weve seen children held at gunpoint for walking home from a basketball game or assaulted for riding a bike. However, this story is different and it shows what a positive effect a compassionate officer can have when he uses his officers discretion while policing. I joined them for a couple of downs, and as you can see its ...

Chris Sevier says that if same-sex couples are able to get married and demand that Christian bakers make them wedding cakes, then he should be allowed to marry his laptop and demand a cake to celebrate the union between one man and one machine. [...] While legal analysts said the case is a stretch, a judge in Utah has allowed part of that lawsuit to proceed, and analysts concede that Mr. Seviers claims get to the heart of how far the 2015 Obergefell ruling stretches when it comes to nontraditional unions. If marriage based on self-asserted sex-based identity narratives is a fundamental right, individual right, existing right, based on a ...

Dobsons story begins in 2008. While visiting his father in Tennessee, Dobson watched a presidential debate featuring former Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tex.), who immediately caught his attention. Feeling inspired, Dobson started closely following Congressman Paul and set out on a roadtrip to participate in the Revolution March on July 12 of ...
