NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A sarcastic sign in the window of a Connecticut restaurant asking people not to let their dogs pee on the eatery's outside flower pot has earned the owner a $250 fine. Duc Nguyen, owner of Duc's Place in New Haven, tells the New Haven Independent he was disgusted with people allowing their dogs to urinate on his pot. He thought a humorous sign was a good way of discouraging dog walkers from letting pets relieve themselves there. It read: "Attn: dog owners. This is a pay-per-pee flower pot. (Pay inside or leave your address and we'll kindly return the favor.)" Honda Smith, the city's public space enforcement officer, said Nguyen broke ...

Blue-collar jobs are growing at their fastest rate in more than 30 years, helping fuel a hiring boom in many small towns and rural areas that are strong supporters of President Trump ahead of Novembers mid-term elections, said the Post, under the headline Under Trump, the jobs boom has finally reached blue-collar workers. Will it last?

Poster Comment:I can't boycott a company that I never bought from. Even before they signed Krapperdick, there were plenty of reasons not to buy Nike products, made in sweat shops overseas. New Balance has a line of shoes made in America. They come in wide widths and they last for years. Levi's has announced that they are donating millions to gun control causes. That's another company that I cannot boycott because I already stopped buying their crummy product years ago. Pro football.....and now college ball where players are paid to play, plus get a free education in Black Studies, have turned me completely away. The game is almost exclusively negro.

A source close to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rulemaking process who requested anonymity said that proposed regulations will be published this fall, and likely this month, defining the phrase public charge under Section 212(a)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. The upcoming change was previously reported in the media, but usually with little ...

Perfect! President Trump in Fargo, North Dakota yesterday responded to the attack leveled against him by name by former President Barack Hussein Obama. Earlier in the day, Obama gave one of his long, boring, lecturing speeches in which he sanctimoniously attacked Trump repeatedly. In just a few words, Trump cut Obama down to size by saying, when asked his reaction to Obamas Speech: Im sorry, I watched it, but I fell asleep. Ive found hes very good very good for sleeping. Once again, Trump zeroes in on the essence of an opponent! Obamas lectures are so old, so tired good for sleeping!

CINCINNATI (AP) The shooter who killed three people in a Cincinnati office high-rise once acted disoriented after being fired four years ago in South Carolina, and he filed a recent lawsuit that a judge in June said "borders on delusional." Authorities on Friday said they have not figured out why 29-year-old Omar Enrique Santa Perez opened fire inside the lobby of a building where he never worked or had any known connection. The city's police chief said the gunman's mental health history is one of several areas they are investigating. Police Chief Eliot Isaac said Santa Perez bought the 9 mm handgun legally about a month ago in Cincinnati before he randomly shot ...

Burt Reynolds, the mustached sex symbol of the 1970s and 1980s, who ruled the box office with good-ol-boy movies like Smokey and the Bandit and earned the critical praise he so badly desired in Starting Over and Boogie Nights, died Thursday in Florida of cardiac arrest, his agent confirmed to Yahoo Entertainment. He was 82. As much as Reynolds represented an era, he also stood as a timeless cautionary tale. After a five-year run as Hollywoods No. 1 male movie star, from 1978 to 1982, Reynolds fell into a funk of flops and personal problems, including unfounded health rumors and a nasty tabloid divorce from TV star Loni Anderson, from which his career ...

By calling Jeff Sessions a dumb Southerner, Trump has done the impossible Post Date: 2018-09-05 15:52:21 by Willie Green

(CNN) If, as Bob Woodward alleges and is being reported in early extracts of his tell-all book about the Trump White House, President Trump called his Attorney General Jeff Sessions, an Alabama resident, a "dumb Southerner," he may have finally done something he has long been unable to do: unite black and white Southerners. We may not agree politically; actually, we disagree passionately on most issues. We don't see eye-to-eye on the issue of race and Confederate monuments and memorials. Even our views of Jesus and Christianity are diverging and increasingly at odds. But boy are we tired of having to contend with the stereotype that we are slow and unintelligent. This side ...

CPR: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is coming out against a California ruling that requires coffee sellers to place cancer warnings on their products. Californias Proposition 65 requires businesses to display explicit warnings if cancer-causing agents are present in their products. Acrylamide, which is a byproduct of roasting coffee beans, is on the list of Proposition 65 carcinogens. Research found that lab rats were at a greater risk of developing cancer after consuming the chemical in high doses. But a human would need to consume 35,000 cups of coffee each day to face the same risk. A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge nevertheless ruled in March that coffee ...
What Would a Socialist America Look Like? Post Date: 2018-09-03 11:15:23 by Willie Green

Just a decade ago, socialism was a dirty word in American politics. Debates over its merits were mostly limited to obscure blogs, niche magazines and political parties on the other side of the Atlantic. But more recently Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and a handful of other politicians have breathed new life into the label, injecting a radical alternate vision for the U.S. economy into the mainstream political debate. Ahead of the midterms, politicians like Ocasio-Cortez, Michigans Rashida Tlaib, and Kansas James Thompson have proudly held up their endorsements from Democratic Socialists of America, the countrys largest socialist group, whose numbers ...

The (Dis) Associated Press, CBS News, etc., etc. is pretending to be oh, so upset about this.

Representatives from the Division of Child and Family Services, also known in some states as Child Protective Services, was attempting to conduct a welfare check at the home of a local resident and asked Ogden police officers to accompany them. ...
