Although not yet official, the Greater Idaho movement, which looks to move eastern Oregon counties into Idaho, a state more in tune with eastern Oregons political and cultural values, is claiming that the movement has grabbed a 12th county in its quest. Election-night totals show that Wallowa County in far northeast Oregon passed the measure by a slim margin of 1,721 yes votes to 1,700 no votes. However, Oregon law allows for ballots postmarked by 8:00 p.m. on election day to be counted if they arrive at election offices within seven days. Click for Full Text!

Our Two Deep States, One Public, One Private Post Date: 2023-05-16 23:16:08 by Charles_Byrd

In 2007, well before the term Deep State entered the common lexicon, I sketched the interconnected public-private pieces of the Deep State, which I termed the elite maintaining and extending global dominance. This diagram doesn't make all the connections or list all the consequential nodes of influence of course, but you get the idea: elected officials, i.e. "democracy," play a modest role in the entire structure, which displays remarkable continuity regardless of which politicians and parties are currently in power. That's the whole idea, of course: continuity that can't be disrupted by an election. Click for Full Text!

In his 1961 farewell address, President Dwight Eisenhower warned Americans to guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex [MIC]. At the time, Eisenhower was concerned that our arms industry with its ever increasing financial and political power might conquer our Republic from within. He recognized that the rapid growth of the MIC, along with the domination of the nations scholars by Federal employment, would drive public policy that would itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite. Since Eisenhowers warning decades ago, the federal government has ...

In his second message on Twitter since Fox News dumped him last month, Tucker Carlson announced that he would take the show to Twitter. Speaking two days ago on the social-media platform, Carlson said the leftist media are a lie-and-propaganda machine that runs 24-7-365. They not only restrict free speech, but also are helping crush it by circumscribing debate to a fixed narrative. Commentary contrary to that narrative is not allowed, and so free speech is dying. Classmates filmed the monstrous crime on April 19 even as a teacher was in the room, according to news reports. Click for Full Text!
