There has never existed any government so evil and repugnant that it has been unable to find lawyers, and particularly judges, to do its bidding. Hitler did not need to manufacture lawyers and judges. A very significant number, indeed the majority, of established and reputable German lawyers were prepared to participate actively in Nazi law, both its development and implementation. A 2022 wildfire in California that many were quick to blame on so-called climate change has been ruled an act of arson, and a suspect has been arrested. The Oak Fire, which destroyed over 120 homes in Mariposa County, California, in 2022, is being blamed on Edward Fredrick Wackerman, a former firefighter — and a Democratic donor. Wackerman faces several felony counts, including aggravated arson, arson that causes great bodily injury, and arson causing damage or destruction of inhabited structures. Over 19,000 acres were burned in the East Central California county, which includes a portion of Yosemite National Park. Click for Full Text!

Recreational marijuana isn't legal yet in Pennsylvania. That hasn't stopped Philadelphia politicians from trying to future-proof their zoning ordinances to block recreational sales. Federal court strikes down costly Biden admin regs hampering lobster fishermen
Post Date: 2023-06-18 00:32:41 by Charles_Byrd

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled Friday that the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) had no legal basis to rely on pessimistic statistical models to justify imposing costly federal regulations onto lobster fisheries and lobstermen. The court held in its decision that the NMFS “was egregiously wrong” in its interpretation of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) which would have enabled the agency to impose costly regulations on lobstermen in order to protect endangered whales. The challenged regulations were set to require lobstermen and their equipment to meet new standards in order for the lobstermen to receive re-authorization from the federal government to ...

Why Does Alabama Only Let You Consume Peach-Flavored Edibles?
Post Date: 2023-06-16 00:34:11 by Charles_Byrd

Alabama, which legalized medical weed back in 2021, is just now getting around to licensing cultivators, testing labs, processors, transporters, and dispensaries so qualifying patients can begin to have access. The catch? You can't smoke it, and all the edibles you consume must be peach- flavored. You see, if the edibles are cube-shaped (also stipulated by law) and peach-flavored, they're somehow less likely to interest kids—at least that's the state Senate's logic after a heated floor debate, according to Alabama Reflector's Brian Lyman (and the new regulations). Historically, commissioners have been able to promote detectives to higher grades or transfer police officers into detective service, but such matters are now up to Adams' discretion, the sources, who were not named, told the New York Post. The White House doctor for former President Barack Obama and Donald Trump has long questioned President Joe Biden's ability to hold up at his advanced age, but this week's fall shows the people that love him need to step in to stop the "shame." "To think that this man thinks he can be president at the age of 86 when he's 80 right now, could be in office for another six years, is just malpractice on part of the White House in the West Wing to allow this to be happening, for him to even be talking about running for another term," Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, told Fox News' "Hannity" on Friday night. "Somebody needs to be held accountable. ...

"Democrats and Republicans alike have refused to engage in actual compromise and instead decided to fund everything or as much of everything as they possibly can without economizing.
