Ron Paul, GOP's antiwar maverick, has pastor brother Post Date: 2007-11-06 00:00:35 by A K A Stone

David Paul is the assistant pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and never was much for politics. This year, however, he feels as if he has a ringside seat. That is thanks to his younger brother Ron, whose maverick campaign for president is upstaging more staid GOP rivals. It does not surprise the pastor that Ron Paul, a 10-term Texas member of Congress, holds his own when debating front-runners. "I always told people that we had some pretty interesting discussions in our house," said David Paul, 73, one of five boys raised in a Pittsburgh family. "Nobody was telling us what to think or how to think. We went our own way and did different things." ...

hrow the polls out the window, Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul, made fund raising history today, raising more money online than any candidate in the history of presidential fund raising. Ron Paul has raised 3.5 million from over 22,000 donors with just under 4 hours left in the day. Paul has also passed Mitt Romneys one day haul of 3.1 million dollars in a single day fund raising effort, making it the largest one day fund raising effort among all Republicans this campaign. The grass roots one day fund raising effort may have helped put Paul in the drivers seat in the GOP presidential nomination contest. There is a chance that Paul may end up with the most cash in ...

Tennessee town has run out of water Post Date: 2007-11-01 23:55:13 by A K A Stone

ORME, Tenn. -- As twilight falls over this Tennessee town, Mayor Tony Reames drives up a dusty dirt road to the community's towering water tank and begins his nightly ritual in front of a rusty metal valve. With a twist of the wrist, he releases the tank's meager water supply, and suddenly this sleepy town is alive with activity. Washing machines whir, kitchen sinks fill and showers run. About three hours later, Reames will return and reverse the process, cutting off water to the town's 145 residents. The severe drought tightening like a vise across the Southeast has threatened the water supply of cities large and small, sending politicians scrambling for solutions. But Orme, ...

NEW YORK (AP) - Wall Street plunged Thursday, pulling the Dow Jones industrial average down more than 360 points as investors found themselves confronted by two uncomfortable prospects: an end to interest rate cuts and a slowing economy. Mindful of a warning from the Federal Reserve Wednesday about inflation, the market nervously watched the price of oil, which passed $96 a barrel overnight for the first time before dipping on profit- taking. The Fed, which cut interest rates a quarter point, said in a statement that inflation remained a concern, and oil's ascent to another record raised the possibility not only that the Fed might stop cutting rates, but that it might even consider ...
Cry me a river, Alleged Carpet Muncher Hillary Clinton Campaign Whines and Cries About Her Piss Poor Performance at the Debate Post Date: 2007-11-01 08:32:56 by A K A Stone

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clintons (D-N.Y.) top advisers, doing damage control after the candidates debate performance Tuesday, told supporters on a conference call Wednesday that the campaign needed more money to fight back. Mark Penn, Clintons senior strategist and pollster, and Jonathan Mantz, the campaigns finance director, told the supporters on the call, which The Hill listened to in its entirety, that they expect attacks from Clintons rivals to continue, and she will need the financial resources to deflect their attacks. Clinton came under withering assault in the Philadelphia debate, and some supporters on the call agreed with analysts that she stumbled. ...
Is the LA Times sitting on a story about Hillary Clintons Carpet Munching? Post Date: 2007-10-31 21:51:41 by A K A Stone

A major sex scandal story involving one of the leading presidential candidates is believed to be soon published by the LA Times, Big Head DC has learned. Details are slowly trickling in through people whove heard about the story, and with Larry Flynt saying hes set to reveal a huge sex scandal story involving a sitting senator in the coming days, the rumors seem to be gathering traction. So I was down in DC this past weekend and happened to run into a well-connected media person, who told me flatly, unequivocally that everyone knows the LA Times was sitting on a story, all wrapped up and ready to go about what is a potentially devastating sexual ...

Part One: The Technocratic Age is slowly designing an every day more controlled society. The society will be dominated by an elite of persons free from traditional values (!) who will have no doubt in fulfilling their objectives by means of purged techniques with which they will influence the behavior of people and will control and watch the society in all details.
it will become possible to exert a practically permanent watch on each citizen of the world. - Zbigniew Brzezinski, co-founder of Trilateral Commission Gone are the days of the Industrial Revolution when inventions and technologies were a benefit to mankind and changed our lives for the better in ...

The Lack of Trustees DO NOT REALIZE WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THIS DISTRICT. If they do not wake up and put their pride aside and listen to the parents and teachers of this district, they will DESTROY this district. And I believe that to be a FACT. Sent to our e-mail address via "Contact Us": "Two well respected Weis teachers and the principal met with Mr. Proctor last month about the $250 each teacher was promised to spend on supplies, incentives, etc. According to Proctor, there was a BIG misunderstanding about the money. A Dangerous Opportunity: American Defense Policy at a Crossroads Post Date: 2007-10-31 08:22:07 by A K A Stone

America's military policy is in disarray, but not for the reason most people think. For the first time since around 1950, there is no coherent theoretical framework for thinking about how to shape our armed forces for current and future threats. This fact presents both a danger and an opportunity. The danger is that we will either fail to develop one and therefore drift aimlessly at a troubled time, or that we will reach back to some of the tattered remnants of the theories that guided military policy until 2007. But we now have the opportunity for a serious discussion about the shape of the world today and its likely shape tomorrow. From 1950 to 1991, American military policy was ...
Obama, Edwards attack; Clinton bombs debate Post Date: 2007-10-31 08:19:32 by A K A Stone

PHILADELPHIA - - We now know something that we did not know before: When Hillary Clinton has a bad night, she really has a bad night. In a debate against six Democratic opponents at Drexel University here Tuesday, Clinton gave the worst performance of her entire campaign. It was not just that her answer about whether illegal immigrants should be issued drivers licenses was at best incomprehensible and at worst misleading. It was that for two hours she dodged and weaved, parsed and stonewalled. And when it was over, both the Barack Obama and John Edwards campaigns signaled that in the weeks ahead they intend to hammer home a simple message: Hillary Clinton does not say what she ...

Kucinich talks about privatization and impeachment Post Date: 2007-10-28 23:54:01 by A K A Stone

Video of congressman Dennis Kucinich talking about blackwater. He makes the excellent point that our current government is trying to privatize the military and pretty much everything else. That way they can sell our government infrastructure to the highest biddeer. Kucinich also talks about submitting a resolution for consideration to impeach the vice president. So congress will be forced to consider the motion or table it. For this to work the congress will have to vote against the motion to table the resolution. Kudos to Mr. Kucinich for having the balls to introduce this bill. It is to bad that Kucinich is so wrong on so many other issues.

Ron Paul Supporters Sell Goods on eBay to Back Nov 5 'Money Bomb' Post Date: 2007-10-28 21:47:05 by A K A Stone

FMNN recently reported that the upcoming November 5 2007 Ron Paul money bomb had only received about 10,000 formal pledges out of the 100,000 it needed (see related story). But supporters of presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Tex) apparently believe that resourcefulness will trump any temporary lack of funds. In fact, FMNN feedbacker Parke emphasizes that backers of the presidential race's only Jeffersonian conservative are increasingly turning to EBay and putting items up for sale with the tag RP08. Writes Parke: Im giving everything I can afford. If you search RP08 on eBay you will find other supporters donating goods for sale for Nov. 5th. Our ...

Personally, I do not want to know what goes on in the ladies room. I do know that ladies rise from the table and leave together for the ladies so they can talk without embarrassment about how handsome, how charming and how utterly brilliant we men are, but I dont want to know any more. Even worse than knowing any more, far worse, would be going with them into the ladies room. Speaking for other normal men, any man except the plumber who spends time in the ladies room, is not a man we want covering our back; we would rather hitch hike across Baghdad or stand knee deep in kimchi. But California Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed a law ...
Who is the enemy? Post Date: 2007-10-28 17:39:10 by A K A Stone

The National Guard, albeit only 1500 of them, are on our borders. Unarmed. Yet during these recent fires in San Diego the National Guard carried their M16A2 rifles with a magazine inserted. I'm not sure if they have ammo, but they are carrying weapons. Kind of makes one wonder who our governments, both state and federal, view as the enemy. Posted 10/28/2007 02:10:24 pm CDT by 82Marine89

"Ron Paul is no laughing matter. He's tapping into a side of the Republican Party that's never had its issues addressed," said David All, a GOP strategist and Internet expert. "And he's doing it by running a truly Web 2.0 campaign." Click to read full article by By Fredreka Schouten, USA TODAY: Ron Paul No Laughing Matter). Finally Republicans are beginning to awaken to truth. Mitt Romney identified a very important principle when he pointed out that in a contest between Democrats and Republicans who act like Democrats, the most consistent party wins. Democrats who worship government and want government to control just about every aspect of our lives cannot ...
Tense Moments After Boot Camp Acquittal Post Date: 2007-10-13 10:32:48 by A K A Stone

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) - Tensions ran high after eight former boot camp workers were acquitted of manslaughter in the death of a 14-year-old inmate who was videotaped being punched and kicked. The case sparked outrage and spelled the end of Florida's system of juvenile boot camps, but it took a jury just 90 minutes Friday to decide that the death of Martin Lee Anderson was not a crime. Anger over the verdict was obvious outside the courtroom, where bystanders screamed "murderer" at former guard Henry Dickens as he described his relief at the verdict. "I am truly, truly sorry this happened. Myself, I love kids," said Dickens, 60. He said Anderson "wasn't ...

DES MOINES, Iowa A lot of people didn't notice him as he slipped into the back of a diner in Newton, Iowa. But it was clear the man in the black hat and shiny velvet coat was not your usual backer of Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson. John Rich, half of the rockin' country duo "Big & Rich," joined the former Tennessee senator stumping across central Iowa on Monday. He told us this was all his idea. At age 33, he had never lifted a finger in politics. But he made a whole bunch of phone calls trying to volunteer his services because, well, he's sick of music-industry folks and Hollywood types from the other side of the political divide getting ...
