Not a fan of Peyton's especially in the playoffs. His overall QB rating regular season is ~95...in the playoffs it's ~85 and while the argument can be made that he crapped the bad against GREAT NE teams, he's also crapped the bed against San Diego last year and the year before. Passer efficiency over 90 usually wins games but something to keep in mind is that when the efficiency between QB's is roughly the same...the team which rushed for more yards [usually around 125] has won. Noone should doubt that the Jets have the better running game... J E T S JETS JETS JETS 27-24... ~~~~ NFC...B R E E S S S S...Favre will have a good game but Brees is just going to tee up on this ...

Gary Contessa trains hundreds of horses and has been the leading trainer in New York for four consecutive years. His stables are home to everything from bottom-priced claimers to high-priced stakes horses, but its a recent maiden winner who has him talking Kentucky Derby (gr. I). After saddling Eightyfiveinafifty to a 17 1/4-length maiden win over the inner track on Jan. 9, Contessa says he has a case of Derby fever. And hes made it perfectly clear that his horse isnt going anywhere. After thinking about it for three or four days, I made a decision that might be debated, but Ive decided to leave him in New York, said Contessa, who co-owns the horse ...

VIDEO Bad blood brewing between Ed Schultz and Chris Matthews? Schultz today invited a guest on his show for the express purpose of taking shots at fellow MSNBCer Matthews! On yesterday's Hardball, Matthews criticized the netroots who are trashing the watered-down ObamaCare bill. "I don't consider them Democrats," said Matthews, dismissing them as "troublemakers." Concluded Chris: "they get their giggles sitting in the back seat and bitching." On his show this evening, Schultz invited netroot-in-chief Markos Moulitsas on to fire back at Matthews. Not merely did Schultz offer Kos a platform, he prodded him with leading questions sure to stir up a ...

NEW HAVEN, Conn. The fierce debate over health care hasn't led to a new law yet, but it's produced some of this year's top quotes, according to a Yale University librarian. Fred Shapiro, associate librarian and lecturer in legal research at Yale Law School, is releasing his fourth annual list of The Yale Book of Quotations. His top quote: "Keep your government hands off my Medicare," by a speaker at a town hall meeting in South Carolina in July. "That struck me as embodying the friction and polarization on the role of government," Shapiro said. The original Yale Book of Quotations was published in 2006. Since then, Shapiro releases an annual list of ...

All the children are restless and the teacher decides to have an early dismissal. Teacher: "Whoever answers the questions I ask, first and correctly can leave early today." Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I want to get outta here. I'm smart and will answer the question." Teacher: "Who said 'Four Score and Seven Years Ago'?" Before Johnny can open his mouth, Susie says, "Abraham Lincoln." Teacher: "That's right Susie, you can go home." Johnny is mad that Susie ...

'I sure do,' he replied while he reached into his golf bag and pulled out a 12-inch Bic lighter. 'Wow!' said his friend, 'Where did you get that monster lighter?' 'I got it from my genie.' 'You have a genie?' 'Yes, right here in my golf bag.' 'Could I see him?' He opens his golf bag and out pops a genie. The friend asks the genie, 'Since, I'm a good friend of your master, will you grant me one wish?' 'Yes I will'' the genie replies. The friend asks the genie for a million bucks. ...

The Islamic Circle of North America has been named in "a list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends" by the Muslim Brotherhood, which is bent on waging "a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions." They say they want to encourage dialogue via these billboards. Great. I'll start. The billboard says that Islam is "the way of life of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus & Muhammad." That is a reflection of the Islamic ...

Tonight at sundown begins a festive Jewish holiday Hanukkah. Hanukkah is an 8 day a festival of lights that is celebrated by lighting of the menorah. You can read the whole Hanukkah story here but in summary, Hanukkah celebrates a lighting miracle when one night's worth of oil lit candles for 8 days. Special food and games are prepared and played on Hanukkah. Perhaps the most famous game is the Hanukkah Dreidel. Which is a four-sided, wooden or plastic spinning top with a Hebrew letter on each side. The letters on the dreidel stand for the Hebrew phrase "Nes Gadol Haya Sham." Which means "A great miracle happened there [in Israel]." Children use it to play a game ...

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. House Democrats, without a single Republican vote, passed a $447 billion appropriations bill Thursday to fund several government agencies next fiscal year. The House approved the conference committee report on a 221-202 vote, over GOP concerns about spending increases. Senate Democrats and Republicans were at odds over when to vote on the conference report that combines six of the seven remaining 2010 appropriations bills. Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that the chamber will be in session during the weekend to take up the measure, adding that the rest of the chamber's healthcare debate was unclear, Roll Call reported. In the high-stakes game of chicken the Obama White House has been playing with Congress over who will regulate the earth's climate, the president's team just motored into a ditch. So much for threats. The threat the White House has been leveling at Congress is the Environmental Protection Agency's "endangerment finding," which EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson finally issued this week. The finding lays the groundwork for the EPA to regulate greenhouse gas emissions across the entire economy, on the grounds that global warming is hazardous to human health. From the start, the Obama team has wielded the EPA action as a club, warning Congress that if it did not come up ...

The Rev. Al Sharpton held a press conference today to blast Tiger Woods for the lack of diversity among his mistresses. Sharpton claims that the lack of African-American women among Woods harem will have a negative affect on the black community, specifically young black girls. Why is it that a man who calls himself black cant bring himself to cheat on his wife with a black woman? said Sharpton, speaking to a group of supporters in Harlem . What does it say to young black girls everywhere when you pass them over? Shame on you, Tiger Woods. What would your daddy say? Sharpton, who has long championed taking black women as mistresses, said that ...

Cracking jokes about Congressional thievery is something of a national past-time. But the results of the newest Gallup poll will likely startle even the cynical news dorks that have read enough of these polls to know that the American people dont think highly of their government. For the first time since Gallup began conducting its annual Honesty and Ethics of Professions poll, a majority (55%) of Americans responded that they believe the honesty and ethical standards of members of Congress are low or very low. The American people dont think senators are particularly upstanding citizens either: 49% said Senators have low or ...

Politics and policy are not the only things that separate conservatives and liberals, Republicans and Democrats. There's a partisan divide when it comes to the proverbial Great Beyond as well. Twenty-one percent of Republicans and 36 percent of Democrats have been in touch with the dearly departed. Nine percent of the Grand Old Party have consulted a fortuneteller, compared to 22 percent of the Democrats. And 15 percent of Republicans say that yoga is a "spiritual" practice, compared to 31 percent of Democrats. "Conservatives and Republicans report fewer experiences than liberals or Democrats communicating with the dead, seeing ghosts and consulting fortunetellers or ...

Sarah Palin may draw ecstatic crowds in "real America," but among Republican insiders in Washington, she's not so popular. National Journal's annual Insiders Poll issue will come out Friday, but we've got some early results; the most interesting finding is how many GOP insiders and members of Congress listed Palin as one of their least favorite members of the party. Palin was the top response when 85 GOP strategists and insiders were asked, "Which voice in your party would you most like to mute?" 28 percent listed Palin; Republican National Committee Chairman Michael came in second, with 12 percent. Republican members of Congress think a little more ...
