At least one person is deceased and another five missing in Allentown, Penn. A natural gas explosion rocked a community at 10:45 p.m. local time Wednesday, February 9. At least one full row of six houses was ruined, and another 16 houses were badly ruined. An explosion from gas in Allentown, Penn. The recent outages appear to have been caused by a bunch of automated hits on the server that overwhelmed it. The source seems to be a somewhat random list of IPs, so blocking those IP's would likely not do much good in preventing a repeat. The fix here is a modification on the software to disregard any requests for thread pages if a huge number of such requests come in a very short time (more than 10 in one second, for example) but such a modification will need to be added to my to-do list, so there may be more such outages in the near future. Until then all I can do is deal with them when they happen. This looks like a Denial of Service (DOS) attack but simple incompetence by some ...

They allow their posters to put tracking scripts in the comment section of threads. Then the user (buckeroo) can see where you came from and possibly more. The management of said site has been made aware of this and has taken no action. So it must be ok to put tracking scripts on their site. The user also threatens to hack email accounts. They take no action against that either. So that must be ok too. Be careful where you browse and post at. Someone might be spying on you.
