Middle school parents in Tennessee are up in arms on learning that their children were instructed to recite and write, Allah is the only god, as part of a world history project. In the Maury County School District, students were assigned a Five Pillars of Islam project that included the translation of the pillar of Shahada as being, There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is his prophet. Joy Ellis, the mother of a seventh-grader at Spring Hill Middle School, said that Christian children should not be instructed to write the Shahada. This is a seventh grade state standard, and will be on the TCAP, Ellis said. I didnt have a problem with ...

Washington State students risk a failing grade in one course if they use any common descriptors professor considers oppressive and hateful language. In another class, students will lose one point every time they use the words illegal alien or illegals rather than the preferred terms of undocumented migrants/immigrants/persons.The punishment for repeatedly using the banned words, Breikss warns, includes but [is] not limited to removal from the class without attendance or participation points, failure of the assignment, and in extreme cases failure for the semester. The Eight Stages of Voting Post Date: 2015-08-22 21:19:01 by Hondo68

The following was contributed by bitjuggler on the forum:Im thinking that there are probably some common stages that most people go through with respect to voting (akin to the Kübler-Ross model of grief) and that individuals have to recognize them before they can address the underlying personal problem of why they put any credence in the voting process. You believe in the story youve been fed about the system; you enthusiastically research the candidates positions; you discuss and debate those positions with friends and relatives; then you vote for whom you decide is the best candidate to fill the position. You see that government is not working and ...
Texas Public School Posts Made Up Quotes from Reagan, Bible, George Washington to Promote Christianity Post Date: 2015-08-05 13:17:53 by Willie Green

Did you have any idea that our first President believed that government required God and the Bible in order to function? And are you familiar with the following quote from President Ronald Reagan? Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face. Chances are you havent heard of either of these because theyre both fiction. George Washington is better categorized as a Deist (rather than a traditional Christian), and Reagan never made such a statement about the Bible. Its part of a strange indoctrination strategy at a small school district in eastern Texas. On the walls of the school hallways and classrooms are many such ...

DENVER Colorados highest court on Monday struck down a voucher program that allowed parents in a conservative suburban school district to use taxpayer dollars to send their children to private schools. The split decision to throw out the voucher program in Douglas County, Colorados third-largest school district, was a blow to conservative education advocates and those who want to redefine public education to funnel tax dollars directly to families who then choose the type of schooling they want for their children. The states Supreme Court ruled against the districts voucher program, which was passed in 2011, saying it violated a plank of the State Constitution ...

Confederate Symbols, Heritage Not Hate, Symbol of Southern Culture, Heritage and Sovereignty In this era of political correctness symbols of the Confederacy have come under increasing attack by the media and many special interest groups. Monuments, flags and even the names of men who served have been subjected to barrages of contempt and protest by people who find them to be personally offensive. Of course the main target of their consternation is the battle flag which is also known as the St. Andrew's Cross. What many people do not know is that this flag was never the national flag of the Confederacy. It was not even the only battle flag used by the Confederate armies but that ...

Teachers complain, chaos reigns as St. Paul schools spend millions on ‘white privilege’ training Post Date: 2015-06-02 15:24:20 by cranky

Have the taxpayers of St. Paul spent nearly $3 million over the past five years to bring chaos and danger to their schools and students? Apparently so. In 2010, the St. Paul school district began a contractual relationship with the Pacific Educational Group, a San Francisco-based organization that tries to help public schools deal with achievement and disciplinary issues involving black students. PEG packages and sells the concept of victimization, for a very high price. It claims that the American education system is built around white culture, tradition and social norms aka white privilege to the unfair detriment of black students. PEG believes that black ...

A Duke University professor was defiant after the school last week condemned his "noxious" and "offensive" words in a letter published in The New York Times in which he compared African-Americans unfavorably to Asian-Americans. The school's rebuke came after a student backlash against Political Science Professor Jerry Hough, 80, whose May 9 letter sought to address racism and the Baltimore riots. Hough said African-Americans don't try to integrate into society, while Asians worked doubly hard to overcome racism instead of blaming it. Every Asian student has a very simple old American first name that symbolizes their desire for ...

A judge kept his word, showing mercy to former Atlanta public school educators who accepted responsibility for their role in a widespread conspiracy to inflate student scores on standardized tests and coming down harshly on those who didn't. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter had delayed sentencing by a day and encouraged the 10 former educators to negotiate deals with prosecutors. Those who did that were rewarded Tuesday: Baxter gave a former teacher a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew at home for one year and a former testing coordinator six months of weekends spent in jail. They'll also serve five years on probation. The other eight weren't so lucky: Baxter gave them ...
