Russian editor: Our space program is entering the "Dark Ages"
Post Date: 2018-07-09 14:32:18 by Tooconservative

These are not the best of times for the Russian space industry. Due to budgetary reasons, Roscosmos has reduced the number of cosmonauts on the International Space Station from three to two. Because of technical problems with its rockets and cost pressure from SpaceX, the country's once-lucrative commercial launch industry is fading. And soon, conditions may worsen. As soon as next year, the United States plans to stop paying hundreds of millions of dollars a year to Russia for Soyuz seats, because it is developing its own transport to the space station. And the European Space Agency has signaled that it will stop launching Russian Soyuz rockets from its French Guiana-based spaceport ...

Government Implements Illegal Gag Order On National Weather Service & NOAA Employees

By TLB Contributor: Dane Wigington The power structure is beginning to panic as the public wakes up to the criminal climate engineering insanity. The growing police state is completely out of control and becoming unimaginably blatant with their actions. In recent weeks Washington has placed “gag orders” on the following agency employees, “The National Weather Service”, the “National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration”, and the “US Department of Commerce”. This is a massive red flag that should trigger alarm bells everywhere.Bill Hopkins, the executive vice president for the National Weather Service employees organization (NWSEO) ...

Physicist: Climate Scientists Are Giving Science a Bad Name

Professor Garth Paltridge, formerly a chief scientist with Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) Division of Atmospheric Research, says that the behavior of certain members of the climate science establishment is “seriously threatening the public’s perception of the professionalism of scientists in general.” Many climate scientists are much less sure about man-made global warming than they will admit in public, he says. But rather than reach out to skeptics in order to open up the debate and explore the uncertainties, they have instead closed ranks and rubbished anyone who disagrees with them: Some of the more vocal of the ...

THIS CAR IS POWERED BY SALT WATER: 920HP, TOP SPEED 217.5 MPH, 373 MILES/TANK
Post Date: 2018-05-06 12:51:37 by Deckard

It works just like a hydrogen fuel cell except that the liquid used for storing energy is saltwater. This isn’t far from the water powered car, an idea labelled as a conspiracy by many despite the massive amount of evidence behind it. You can read more about that here. In this case (saltwater) the liquid passes through a membrane in between the two tanks, creating an electric charge. This electricity is then stored and distributed by super capacitors. The four electric motors in the car are fed electricity which makes it run. The car carries the water in two 200-litre tanks, which in one sitting will allow drivers to travel up to 373 miles (600km). Overall, the ...

How Weather and Climate Work
Post Date: 2018-05-02 12:46:04 by Tooconservative

There are three big drivers of weather for any place on Earth: the latitude, the local environment, and solar system cycles. The biggest weather factor is latitude – are you in the torrid, temperate, or frigid zone? These climatic zones are defined by the intensity of heat delivered to Earth's surface by the sun. In the Torrid Zone, the sun is always high in the sky. It is generally hot, often moist, with low atmospheric pressure, muggy conditions, and abundant rain and storms, some severe. Places close to the Equator get two summers per year (just one long summer) and very little winter. Farther from the equator, there are two seasons: "The Wet" and "The ...

Framed for Murder By His Own DNA

hen the DNA results came back, even Lukis Anderson thought he might have committed the murder. “I drink a lot,” he remembers telling public defender Kelley Kulick as they sat in a plain interview room at the Santa Clara County, California, jail. Sometimes he blacked out, so it was possible he did something he didn’t remember. “Maybe I did do it.” Kulick shushed him. If she was going to keep her new client off death row, he couldn’t go around saying things like that. But she agreed. It looked bad. Before he was charged with murder, Anderson was a 26-year-old homeless alcoholic with a long rap sheet who spent his days hustling for change in downtown San Jose. ...

Report: Facebook And ‘Top-Secret’ Doctor Were Working With Hospitals To Collect Patient Information

Facebook reportedly asked multiple hospitals around the country somewhat recently if they wanted to share patient information in an apparent attempt to help the healthcare institutions with certain processes. While the initiative, which CNBC first reported, hasn’t made it past the initial planning stage, it will likely intensify already clamorous concerns over how the tech giant values people’s data privacy. After all, Facebook allegedly tabled the proposed project when public backlash ensued, stemming from the disclosure it was suspending a data analytics firm for misusing information related to users’ traits and online tendencies. Facebook has “not received, shared, ...

China’s Tiangong-1 space lab expected to crash back to Earth early in April AN out-of-control space station is due to crash down to Earth in about a fortnight, and Australia’s in its firing line — several times each day. IT was a bold leap forward for China’s space program. Almost. The 8.6 tonne Tiangong-1 (Heavenly Palace 1) facility has been tumbling out of control now for more than a year. In September 2016 China’s space agency announced it had lost contact with the station. It’s been buffeted by solar winds and wayward wisps of the Earth’s atmosphere ever since. It’s now due to crash back down to Earth between March 30 and April 6. But the ...

The Uber vehicle was in autonomous mode with a human safety driver at the wheel when it struck the woman, who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk, the Tempe police said in a statement. The episode happened on Sunday around 10 p.m. The woman was not publicly identified. Uber said it had suspended testing of its self-driving cars in Tempe, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Toronto. “Our hearts go out to the victim’s family. We are fully cooperating with ...

Six cloned horses help rider win prestigious polo match By Jon Cohen Dec. 13, 2016 , 6:30 PM Last Saturday, at a prestigious match in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, polo player Adolfo Cambiaso rode six different horses to help his team win. That in itself is not remarkable: Cambiaso is widely considered the world’s best polo player. What is noteworthy is that all six horses were clones of the same mare—they’re named Cuartetera 01 through 06—and that Cambiaso did it at such a high-profile event. “It’s most important that he won at Palermo,” says Santiago Ballester, a member of the Argentine Association of Polo in Buenos Aires. “It’s ...

What the SpaceX Success Means for the Moon, Mars, and More

On February 6, 2018, the SpaceX Falcon Heavy took flight, demonstrating a capacity to lift 60 tons to low Earth orbit while playfully sending a Tesla Roadster on a trajectory that will take it beyond the orbit of Mars. To add to the coup, two of the Falcon’s three booster stages flew back to land gracefully together at the Cape, while the third barely missed pulling off a recovery landing on a drone ship stationed downrange. Elon Musk, my favorite African-American. To understand how extraordinary this accomplishment was, let us recall that in 2009, the Obama administration’s blue-ribbon review committee headed former Lockheed Martin CEO Norm Augustine declared that NASA's ...

Falcon Heavy launch: Space X has an almost perfect day

You’ve probably seen some clips of the Space X launch that took place today already but if not you really did miss something pretty spectacular. The launch was successful though it appears one of the three boosters did not land itself properly. Still, the image of the two boosters landing themselves simultaneously on adjacent landing pads seemed unreal. And then on top of that, there was the cargo for this test launch: Elon Musk’s own Tesla Roadster with “Spaceman” at the wheel (actually Space X’s own space suit design). From Space.com: Standing 23 stories tall, the Falcon Heavy rocket is SpaceX’s largest rocket yet and the most powerful booster since ...

Amazon Patents Ultrasonic Tracking Wristbands To Control Workers

Amazon Patents Ultrasonic Tracking Wristbands To Control Workers Amazon is seeking to boost worker efficiency through a new set of patents squarely aimed at improving its inventory management system using radio frequency based tracking of a worker’s hand to monitor their performance of inventory tasks. Of course, the only thing more troubling than robots replacing human workers is the idea of robots tracking human workers’ hands, but i) there are profit margins to be optimized and ii) this is the same concept of being under house arrest with an ankle bracelet, it just happens that Amazon wants to put the device on the worker’s wrist. On January 30, 2018, the U.S. Patent ...

Fortresses, farmlands of the Maya emerge from massive LiDAR survey
Post Date: 2018-02-02 18:45:44 by Tooconservative

Huge sprawl of the civilization emerges from beneath the foliage. A recent aerial survey revealed thousands of ancient Maya structures previously hidden beneath the dense Guatemalan jungle, including houses, irrigation canals, fortifications, and even a pyramid. More importantly, though, the survey of 2,000 square kilometers of northeastern Guatemala provides a bird’s-eye view of the landscape of ancient Maya cities, farms, and highways. That big picture view of the Maya is letting archaeologists ask bigger questions about this still-enigmatic civilization. A sense of mystery still surrounds the Maya, mostly because so much of their once powerful and sophisticated society now lies ...

Qualcomm is also working to help Chinese companies like Huawei break into overseas markets in support of China’s “go global” campaign to develop big multinational brands. Qualcomm is providing money, expertise and engineering for Beijing’s master plan to create its own technology superpowers. Big American companies fiercely protect their intellectual property and trade secrets, fearful of giving an edge to rivals. Ranking websites is an inexact science. There are multiple ways to measure success, including pageviews, users, unique site visitors and, perhaps most important, influence. To create this list of the top conservative sites, PJ Media looked at a variety of sources that rank them and determined the average score for each center-right site. Alexa, SimilarWeb, and Quantcast all look at different data sets, so considering all three helps to present a more complete picture. Alexa's ranking is based on "a combined measure of Unique Visitors and Pageviews" over a three month period. According to Quantcast, they measure "the number of people in the United States who visit each ...

Consciousness and Intelligence

Because of our experience we tend to associate consciousness with intelligence, and sometimes confuse the two. However the concepts are not necessarily one and the same. Consider for example that intelligence seems to come in a spectrum, with humans ranking as the most intelligent (so far) and the other animals falling somewhere lower on the scale. Consciousness however seems to be very much a “you have it or you don’t” kind of thing. Unlike intelligence it doesn’t make any sense to talk about someone being “less conscious”. Perhaps you might argue that you are “less conscious” when you have just woken up, but this is to confuse awareness, and clear ...
