ESPN commentator Curt Schilling has once again stirred controversy with his comments, this time by posting an anti-transgender meme to his Facebook page criticizing policies that allow men who claim to be women to use a womans bathroom. On his Facebook page, the former Major League Baseball pitcher posted an image of an overweight man dressed as a woman with a harsh caption. Let him in! the caption says, to the restroom with your daughter or else youre a narrow minded, judgmental, unloving, racist bigot who needs to die!!! Schilling added a message of his own to the post in an effort to clarify what he meant by posting the image. Schilling wrote, A ...

The problem with science is that so much of it simply isnt. Last summer, the Open Science Collaboration announced that it had tried to replicate one hundred published psychology experiments sampled from three of the most prestigious journals in the field. Scientific claims rest on the idea that experiments repeated under nearly identical conditions ought to yield approximately the same results, but until very recently, very few had bothered to check in a systematic way whether this was actually the case. The OSC was the biggest attempt yet to check a fields results, and the most shocking. In many cases, they had used original experimental materials, and sometimes even ...
Fleecing the American Taxpayer: The Profit Incentives Driving the Police State Post Date: 2016-04-12 07:38:07 by Deckard

The Founding Fathers never intended a nation where citizens would pay nearly half of everything they earn to the government. ― Ron Paul If there is an absolute maxim by which the federal government seems to operate, it is that the American taxpayer always gets ripped off. This is true whether youre talking about taxpayers being forced to fund high-priced weaponry that will be used against us, endless wars that do little for our safety or our freedoms, or bloated government agencies such as the National Security Agency with its secret budgets, covert agendas, and clandestine activities. Rubbing salt in the wound, even monetary awards in lawsuits against government ...

All-Out Assault on All Life on Earth-Dane Wigington By Greg Hunter On April 10, 2016 In Political Analysis Dane Wigington, founder of the global climate engineering informational website, GeoengineeringWatch.org, says climate manipulation, commonly referred to as chemtrails, is the number one factor in destroying the planet and much of humanity. Wigington contends, We have now enough data to prove that the greatest destructive factor, by far, on the ozone layer is geoengineering (chemtrails). Its disrupting the hydrological cycle and disrupting the planet. We have governmental agencies that are set up to hide this fact from the population or to mask it. . . . We are seeing UVB ...

Krauthammer: GOP split 'guaranteed' if Trump loses nomination Post Date: 2016-04-08 16:47:12 by A K A Stone

Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer predicted that the Republican Party would most certainly collapse if Donald Trump is denied a presidential nomination at the convention in July. In his latest column for the Washington Post, Krauthammer said if Trump does not lock up the nomination before the convention he has the most delegates but needs a majority it is possible the party will coalesce around an alternative and the billionaire's supporters will walk away, leaving the party in shambles. "And if Trump loses out, a split is guaranteed," wrote Krauthammer. "In Trump's mind, he is a winner. Always. If he loses, it can only be because he was ...

Is A One Million Dollar Nonprofit CEO Salary As Bad As It Sounds? Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own. American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network ... American Cancer Society CEO John Seffrin Your hard-earned money may be going toward a CEOs multi-million dollar pay package. If you donate to the American Cancer Society, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, or one of at least 18 others that the Chronicle of Philanthropy reported as having CEOs making one million dollars or more, then thats exactly what youre doing. Its easy to argue that this is outrageous, but is it really? As you might imagine, there are two very different perspectives on ...
Coming Out of the Drug War Haze? Post Date: 2016-04-04 16:00:43 by Deckard

President Obama's recent speech on the opioid overdose epidemic offers a ray of hope that the country's approach to drugs might one day adopt what has been called the first rule of American business: When all else fails, try doing it right.Noting with considerable understatement that "treatment is underfunded," the president proposed $1.1 billion for expanded opioid-addiction treatment. This is a good step in the right direction. But it is still $50 billion less than the U.S. will spend this year alone on its current, fatally flawed policy of the war on drugs, and only one-third of what the federal government allocates to lock up drug criminals whose incarceration ...
It Is Clear That “Free Trade” Only Benefits the Plutocrats Post Date: 2016-04-01 08:15:08 by A K A Stone

The United States used to be a nation whose population, through hard work and sound policy, grew wealthier over time. Now, we are a nation whose middle class has nearly disappeared, whose workers wages have stagnated, and whose plutocrats become greedier and wealthier with each passing year. A quick look at the facts reveals why this has happened and continues to happen. America has become a less productive nation over time. Unfortunately, only the rich are enjoying any increase in wealth. The rest of us, though we work harder than Americans did in the past, enjoy no more wealth than the previous generation of workers did decades ago. CEOs make hundreds of times what their workers ...
Supreme Court Issues for the Next President Post Date: 2016-03-29 10:27:25 by Vicomte13

This is it folks: the big enchilada. For 46 years, since 1969, the Republican Party had controlled the Supreme Court. With Justice Scalia's death, today nobody controls the Supreme Court. There are 4 Democrats and 4 Republicans. 2 of the Democrats (Ginsburg and Breayer) and one of the Republicans (Kennedy) are old (80+). Thomas is getting up there (about 70). With a 4-4 time, the Supreme Court is currently near deadlock. Justice Kennedy sometimes votes with the liberal wing on some issues, so there is a slight liberal advantage in the current court, but not much on most issues. What this means is that, if the Supreme Court hears a case and splits on party line, there will be no ...

The race is over. Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States. History will record the moment the tough-talking media and marketing genius sealed the deal as the evening of Monday and the dawn of Tuesday during this Holy Week. Over a short, intense few hours of momentous world events, Donald Trump revealed that not only does he understand the grave threats that free and civilized people face, but also that he has the wisdom and temperament to be leader of the free world. Mr. Trumps address to American Israel Public Affairs Committee Monday night was thoughtful and considered. It was not one of his rambling ad-lib campaign speeches, which are enormously entertaining ...

Teddy bears, tears, candles, cartoons, murals, mosaics, flowers, flags, projections, hashtags, balloons, wreaths, lights, vigils, scarves, and more. These are the best solutions the Western world seems to come up with every few months when we are slammed by another Islamist terrorist attack. We are our own sickness. Since the world learned of the dozens dead, hundreds injured, and hundreds of thousands affected by Mondays attack on the NATO and European Union capital, we have seen an outpouring of what is commonly known as solidarity. This word most commonly associated with hard-left politics, trades union activism, socialism, and poseur indie rock bands has ...

Americans didnt invent free market capitalism. But you might say they perfected it. In doing so, they created more wealth for more people than any society in the history of the world. To begin to understand this fascinating and complex story, we have to travel back in time to the very first settlers of America. But before we get to the history, let me define what I mean by capitalism. Its not an easy term to pin down because it developed over thousands of years of human interaction. Adam Smith, the great English thinker, first described it in his famous 1776 treatise, The Wealth of Nations, but he didnt invent it. For our purposes here, I define capitalism as an ...

Let us be clear. We are living, right now, in a time of emotional fear, hysterical anger, illogical demands, and dangerous temptations. In other words, liberty and prosperity are at risk. A decent and tolerant society is threatened. Common principles of humanity are being undermined. All of this is concentrated and has been brought to a head in the rhetorical clamor and campaign conflagrations of a presidential election year. To try to understand what is going on, a mountain of words have been spoken by serious think tank scholars, by Sunday morning talk show pundits, or by evening television news 15-second in-depth interpreters, as well as miles of written commentaries that ...

With his “dangerous style of leadership,” Trump stokes this anger, mewed Rubio, “This is what happens when a leading presidential candidate goes around feeding into a narrative of bitterness and anger and frustration.”

Hillary will never survive the Trump onslaught: It’s not fair, but it makes her a weak nominee Post Date: 2016-03-14 18:06:12 by A K A Stone

There are many nauseating aspects of the new reality TV series, America Picks a Prez, which airs around the clock on every single channel on earth: the cynical, open-air conspiracy between our Fourth Estate and Donald Ratings Viagra Trump. Ted Cruz uttering the word prayerfully while not exploding into a cloud of synthetic piety. Caucasian patriots heroically exercising their right to punch people of color. Among these, let me nominate one more: listening to Hillary partisans explain to those of us who support Bernie Sanders just how naive we are. Only Hillary, we are told, has a real shot at winning in November. Shes the only one with a realistic ...

But lets explore what you actually think he will do. Will he bring jobs back to America? Will he keep his word? Is he lying about some things, everything? What will be the reaction to him on innaguration day? Will people give him a chance? I gave Obama a chance. So what do you think that the man will usher in?

Donald J. Trump arrived at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner in April 2011, reveling in the moment as he mingled with the political luminaries who gathered at the Washington Hilton. He made his way to his seat beside his host, Lally Weymouth, the journalist and socialite daughter of Katharine Graham, longtime publisher of The Washington Post. From Our Advertisers A short while later, the humiliation started. The annual dinner features a lighthearted speech from the president; that year, President Obama chose Mr. Trump, then flirting with his own presidential bid, as a punch line. Veteran pollster Pat Caddell warns that Ohio Gov. John Kasichs vote for the North American Free Trade Agreement during his tenure in Congress could cost him both his approval rating as governor and the critical state primary. I believe I havent gone back and looked but I think he was in Congress in 93 and if so, Id bet you he voted for NAFTA. How much do you want to bet? Somebody ought to look that one up. Thats the real point this morning that could change the election in Ohio, he told Breitbart News executive chairman and host Stephen K. Bannon on Breitbart News Daily Friday morning. If he did, as I suspect, vote for NAFTA, he ...
Why People Don't Take Right-Wing Evangelicals So Seriously Anymore Post Date: 2016-03-08 08:01:21 by Willie Green

The Evangelical brand has gone from being an asset to a liability. Im not religious myself, people would say, but whats the harm if it gives someone else a little comfort or pleasure.
