Lindsay Lohan Wants To Go And Shoot Iraqis Post Date: 2006-08-09 14:51:19 by TLBSHOW

We have to agree wholeheartedly with Lindsay Lohan here. It really is amazing seeing a woman just going somewhere. And we're sure it probably helps stop the war every time a woman just goes somewhere. Anyway, Lindsay Lohan might have something of an ulterior motive in wanting to go to Iraq - she wants to shoot a bunch of those Iraqis who're a bit pissed off about having their country invaded, too: "I'm not afraid of going. My security guard is going to take me to a gun range when I get back to L.A., and I'm going to start taking shooting lessons. He says if I'm going to go there I should really know how to shoot. Yeah, I have a dark side." Can we have the Herbie Lindsay Lohan ...
John Rich - say hi to the new muzik mafia member Shanna Crooks Post Date: 2006-08-08 21:19:19 by TLBSHOW

John Rich calls Shanna Crooks, "One of the best songwriters I've run into in a long time," and "one of the most impressive people I have ever met." High praise, indeed, and much deserved. Shanna was introduced to the Mafia in 2005 when she signed with Godfather Richs publishing company, and became an official member of the Family as an artist in 2006. Underneath her unmistakable charm and soaring vocals is an honest, soul-filled artist with a message that speaks to both men and women: be true to yourself, be strong and be beautiful. Shannas influences range from the edge of Aerosmith and Heart, to the classic moods of Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder; all ...

Call it "one small mistake by somebody, one giant loss for mankind." The original magnetic tapes that recorded the iconic images of man's first footsteps on the moon are missing and scientists fear they are in danger of deteriorating into dust unless they are found quickly and converted to digital format. Australian scientists at the Parkes Observatory and the Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station in Australia have launched an intensive effort to find nearly 700 boxes of original, high quality slow-scan TV tapes used to capture the Apollo 11 landing on July 21, 1969. The two Australian stations, along with California's Goldstone station, received signals from the lunar base. What ...
Bush, Blair must face Iraq truth - THEY BROKE IT - LOST THE WAR - BOTH ARE NOT WAR TIME LEADERS BOTH ARE FOOLS Post Date: 2006-08-05 15:30:38 by TLBSHOW

Analysis: Bush, Blair must face Iraq truth LONDON, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Admissions by senior British diplomats and U.S. Army generals that Iraq is currently hurtling towards civil war shatters the rosy picture their respective leaders are trying to paint. The response of British Prime Minister Tony Blair to a leaked memo from his outgoing ambassador to Baghdad reveals a man still entrenched in denial as to the disastrous effect his policies have had on the country. Confronted with a warning from William Patey that civil war was a more likely outcome in Iraq than democracy, Blair insisted that the diplomat had simply been stressing the need to "stay the course" in the country. Yet ...

HAVANA (AP) -- Former revolutionaries promised to keep fighting for Cuba on Saturday as the island beefed up security, saying it fears a U.S. attack during Fidel Castro's health crisis. The government, under the control of Castro's brother, Defense Minister Raul Castro, has mobilized citizen defense militias and asked military reservists to check in daily. The White House has insisted no such threat exists, with press secretary Tony Snow dismissing the suggestion that the United States would attack the island as "absurd." The Communist Party daily newspaper Granma issued a statement by the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution on its front page. "We will ...

However, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah also vowed to fire rockets into Tel Aviv if Israel strikes Beirut proper. Israeli warplanes have repeatedly bombarded Hezbollah strongholds in southern suburbs of Beirut. "If you bomb our capital Beirut, we will bomb the capital of your usurping entity... We will bomb Tel Aviv," he said in a taped televised speech. In issuing the threat, Nasrallah offered his first opening toward diminishing the three-week-old conflict, which has taken more than 500 Lebanese lives and killed more than 50 Israelis.

NEW YORK - Paul McCartney has made his share of classic music: Now the ex-Beatle is releasing a classical album. Ecce Cor Meum, which means "behold my heart," is a choral and orchestral work in both English and Latin due out this fall. Britain's Magdalen College Oxford commissioned McCartney to create the music more than eight years ago in celebration of a new concert hall. Though McCartney, 64, has released three other classically oriented albums, he acknowledged that writing Ecce Cor Meum was a difficult task that took revisions and public performances before he finally got it right. "Eventually I made it all come together through correcting some misapprehensions," ...

The U.S. Vs. John Lennon will make its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, and is just one of many music-related films at this year's fest. The controversial documentary, made with the co-operation of Lennon's widow Yoko Ono, covers the years between 1966 and 1976 and follows the former Beatle's journey from musician to anti-war activist. The David Leaf/John Scheinfeld film recounts the U.S. government's attempts to silence Lennon through wiretapping, FBI surveillance and deportation hearings. The tale is told through archival film clips as well as Lennon's original music. Leaf and Scheinfeld remark on their website that The U.S. Vs. John ...

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Unwelcome in Lebanon after an Israeli bombing that killed dozens of children, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice cut short her peace mission on Sunday without calling for an immediate ceasefire to end the war. Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora said he did not want her to come to his country for planned meetings on Sunday, saying that after Israel's air strike, he could not hold any talks on resolving the crisis before an immediate ceasefire. Rice's renewed push to end fighting between Israel and Hizbollah was derailed by the bombing in southern Lebanon, which killed at least 54 people sheltering in a basement, 37 of them children. "In the wake of ...

Concert review: Energized by new protest songs, CSNY rocks Concord By Tony Hicks CONTRA COSTA TIMES Outrage is a good thing. No matter how deeply some '60s musical rebels have sunk into self-parody in subsequent decades, it's always good to see a group -- any group -- rediscover its passionate voice and focus it intensely on something that really matters. Not that David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young together (with Young, anyway) got too old in the '80s and '90s. But, at times, the foursome definitely resembled an old-timers act specializing in teaching one's children how people used to sit down, play guitars and sing those things called harmonies. Flash forward to 200 ...

U.N. "I think there is a basis for an agreement that would allow us to get a U.N. resolution but we have to get this now," Blair, in San Francisco as part of a five-day U.S. visit, told reporters ...

Handwritten letter from President Saddam Hussein to the American people. 7 July 2006. In the name of God, the Merciful, the Mercy-giving. And among the Believers are men who are true to that which they pledged to God. Some of them have fulfilled their pledge by death and some of them still are waiting and they have not altered in the least. That God may reward the true men for their truth and punish the hypocrites if He will, or relent towards them, for God is forgiving, merciful. And God repulsed the infidels for their wrath. They gained no good. God averted their attack from the Believers. God is strong, mighty. [Quran 33:23-25]. To the American people: Peace upon ...

The series of raids in northern, eastern and southern Lebanon, which killed at least one person and wounded others, came as the Israeli government ...

SADDAM TRIAL OVER:Saddam must wait for verdict as trial ends in acrimony Post Date: 2006-07-28 01:40:09 by A K A Stone

The tumultuous trial of Saddam Hussein and his top lieutenants came to a close today, ending in acrimony just as it began ten months ago. The deposed dictator who was not in court must wait until October to hear whether he will face execution for his alleged role in the killing of 148 Shias in 1982, officials said. The protracted hearings had been interrupted by the murder of three defence lawyers, the departure of two chief judges, hunger strikes, boycotts by the entire defence team and shouting matches between the former leader and his judges. The summing-up arguments were made by court-appointed defence lawyers, whose representations were far stronger than had been ...

WHILE Israel fights Hezbollah with tanks and aircraft, its supporters are campaigning on the internet. Israels Government has thrown its weight behind efforts by supporters to counter what it believes to be negative bias and a tide of pro-Arab propaganda. In the past week nearly 5,000 members of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) have downloaded special megaphone software that alerts them to anti-Israeli chatrooms or internet polls to enable them to post contrary ...
