Report: Offended Mubarak refuses call from Ayatollah Obama
Post Date: 2011-02-18 05:47:15 by Happy Quanzaa

Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak refused to respond to telephone calls from US President Barack Obama becase he still felt offended by Obama's statement in which he called on Mubarak "to step down immediately," London-based Arabic language daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported on Thursday. Mubarak, still living in "presidential style" in Sharm el-Sheikh, according to the report, refused an invitation from Saudi King Abdullah to come to the kingdom, telling him he preferred to die on Egyptian soil. The report said that it was not clear if Mubarak had been in contact with Egypt's new military rulers through his former deputy Omar Suleiman.

Commie Broadcast System complicit in news coverup of Egyptian anti-Semetic gang rape

CBS complicit in newscoverup Dateline — Egypt: “[60 Minutes] correspondent Lara Logan was repeatedly sexually assaulted by thugs yelling, ‘Jew! Jew!’ as she covered the chaotic fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo’s main square Friday.” Powerful reporting on an important story. Two problems: It didn’t run until yesterday, and CBS didn’t run it. The quote is from the New York Post. And it was The Wall Street Journal that reported “the separation and assault lasted roughly 20 to 30 minutes.” But CBS? They sat on their own story. For five days, as reporters reveled amid giddy celebrations in Tahrir Square, and as President ...

Baghdad wants U.S. to pay $1 billion for damage to city

(Reuters) - Iraq's capital wants the United States to apologize and pay $1 billion for the damage done to the city not by bombs but by blast walls and Humvees since the U.S.-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein. The city's government issued its demands in a statement on Wednesday that said Baghdad's infrastructure and aesthetics have been seriously damaged by the American military. "The U.S. forces changed this beautiful city to a camp in an ugly and destructive way, which reflected deliberate ignorance and carelessness about the simplest forms of public taste," the statement said. "Due to the huge damage, leading to a loss the Baghdad municipality cannot ...

Muslim Brothers leader praises Hitler -- would 'like to kill every Jew'.

He is a hypermarket of dogma, dispensing advice on subjects ranging from mother's milk to suicide bombing. But few have as much influence on Sunni Muslims as the Muslim televangelist Youssef al-Qaradawi. He says what the Muslim Brotherhood in Egpyt thinks -- and he provides clues to how they might act. This man is a word machine, a one-man talk show that leaves no subject unexamined. Youssef al-Qaradawi has to talk: about former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, about mothers' milk banks, and about the right of Palestinian women to blow themselves up. He is a driven man. There are so many decisions to be made in this godforsaken modern age, and yet there is only one mufti, only ...

I have had just about all the “Global Warming” I can stand. I haven’t seen a winter this cold and miserable for so long, for many years. I am ready for spring. When it is 20 below zero, and the wind is blowing, my thoughts turn to Reverend Al Gore and his faith-based Global Warming Cult. When you belong to a cult common sense is out the window. The only people I know personally who still believe in so-called man made global warming, are women who either don’t work or have a job inside a nice warm building. They also never listen to news shows and try to educate their self. If you want to hear cuss words, just ask a man (or woman) who works outdoors what they think ...

"I'm pleased to announce today we will be reprogramming $150 million for Egypt to put ourselves in a position to support the transition there and assist with their economic recovery," Clinton told reporters. Arab World Tense Ahead Of Friday Prayers

The Arab world prepared Thursday evening for a tense day of prayer Friday, after anti-government protests in Iran, Libya, Bahrain, and Yemen claimed a number of lives. On the fourth day of protests, Bahrain's leaders were especially cautious. At a meeting of the Gulf States' foreign ministers, Bahrain's Khalid al-Khalifa said none of the other states had sent armed forces in to provide backup for its army. The foreign ministers were concerned over Iran's apparent involvement in the protests, which were mainly organized by Shiites. But al-Khalifa rejected the notion. "Bahrain's Shiites are loyal to the state," he said. Meanwhile, at least ten people were ...

Islamist Role Rising As Egyptians Plan Victory March

CAIRO (Reuters) – Egyptian youth leaders moved to set up a new political party on Thursday as the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood played an increasingly important role in preparing for post-Mubarak elections promised within six months. Pro-democracy leaders plan to bring one million people out on the streets for a "Victory March" on Friday to celebrate Mubarak's ouster, and perhaps remind the generals now in charge of the power of the street that ended Hosni Mubarak's rule. Inspired by Egypt, and a Tunisian revolt before that, protesters have taken to the streets across the Middle East and North Africa. Bahrain has cracked down on anti-government protesters and clashes ...

Deadly clashes on Libya's day of protest

Deadly clashes broke out in several towns in Libya on Thursday after the opposition called for protests against leader Muammar Gaddafi in a rare show of defiance inspired by uprisings in other Arab states. Tight controls on media and communications in Libya made it difficult to assess the extent of the violence there. Unrest has spread across North Africa and the Middle East since the fall of the leaders of Tunisia and Egypt. A resident in the eastern city of Benghazi said at least five people had been killed in nearby towns. With phone lines out of order and access barred for journalists, it was impossible to establish an exact death toll. In the capital of the oil-exporting country ...

US Officials Express Alarm Over Bahrain Crackdown

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration expressed alarm and displeasure Thursday over a violent crackdown on anti-government protesters in key U.S. ally Bahrain as a wave of political upheaval moved across the Middle East. President Barack Obama supports peaceful protesters as Mideast nations deal with a wave of political upheaval, White House press secretary Jay Carney said, but the president also does not want to dictate a political outcome in Bahrain. Carney told reporters that the government of Bahrain should observe universal rights, including the right of peaceful assembly. "We simply think it is the wrong way to go," he said of the violence. "We think our voice ...

In 1995, Bill Clinton and House Speaker Newt Gingrich faced off over Newt's proposed budget, which included spending cuts in non-essential government services and proposed reductions in the rate of growth of entitlement spending. At the time, the country was facing a roughly $300 billion budget deficit, and Republicans were serious about getting federal spending under control. But Bill Clinton, the master of phony tear-wiping, lip-biting "I feel your pain" sentimentalism, fought hard against Gingrich and led the Democrats in a brutal portrayal of Republicans as evil hate-mongers bent on starving children, poisoning the environment, killing AIDS patients, and forcing the elderly to skip ...

Special Report: China Flexed Its Muscles Using US Treasuries

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Confidential diplomatic cables from the U.S. embassies in Beijing and Hong Kong lay bare China's growing influence as America's largest creditor. As the U.S. Federal Reserve grappled with the aftershocks of financial crisis, the Chinese, like many others, suffered huge losses from their investments in American financial firms -- from Lehman Brothers to the Primary Reserve Fund, the money market fund that broke the buck. The cables, obtained by WikiLeaks, show that escalating Chinese pressure prompted a procession of soothing visits from the U.S.Treasury Department. In one striking instance, a top Chinese money manager directly asked U.S. Treasury Secretary ...

Flashback To Council On Foreign Relations Article: Mubarak Chooses Chaos

Who rules Egypt, and who will rule it tomorrow? After 30 years the Hosni Mubarak period is coming to a close, but how the period ends—in violence and turmoil, or on a stable path to democracy—remains unclear. Mubarak's insistence on staying in office until the bitter end may sacrifice the opportunity for a peaceful transition. His defiance is bringing Egypt's Army closer and closer to the fateful decision to turn against the people—the only alternative to throwing Mubarak out. Mubarak's fatal mistakes in recent years, the products of aging, his wife's dynastic ambitions, and the distance from the people that three decades in office made almost inevitable, were to refuse even minimal ...

Was Mubarak poisoned? Reports persist that he has fallen into a coma. But was he pushed?

The fate of Hosni Mubarak is shrouded in mystery, with reports emerging that he has slipped into a coma and is near death. The former leader of Egypt, 83, had been suffering from lethal pancreatic cancer. But the odd coincidence of his falling from power and his falling into a coma has given rise to speculation that he wasn't fallen into a comatose state. He may have been pushed. Mubarak's "health is deteriorating drastically," an Egyptian security official told London-based Arabic-language newspaper a-Sharq al-Awsat on Tuesday. The source added that those around Mubarak were refusing attempts to bring him abroad - most likely to Germany - to receive medical care. ...

'I am a Muslim,' Obama Tells Egyptian Foreign Minister Gheit

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said he had a one-on-one meeting with Obama, in which President Obama told him that he was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the stepson of Muslim stepfather, that his half brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and that he was sympathetic towards the Muslim agenda. Not surprisingly, this story did not hit the main stream media. I have looked into this report for several days, before posting blogs on this report. Obama, Egypt, and the Dawn of the Muslim Brotherhood

The Brotherhood awakes, Obama rejoices Only one thing is certain regarding the future of Egypt, and that’s the fact that it’s uncertain. But this much we know – that the coup that was just accomplished in Egypt was not a “youth-based movement for peace and democracy”. It is, in fact, a very carefully orchestrated uprising staged and instigated by the Muslim Brotherhood. If you are old enough to recall the 1979 Iranian revolution, then I think you know how it’s all going to go for Egypt. President Obama also seems to be very interested in what happens next, a marked departure from his aloof and uncaring attitude when the Iranian people protested against their ...

The U.S. informed Arab governments Tuesday that it will support a U.N. Security Council statement reaffirming that the 15-nation body "does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity," a move aimed at avoiding the prospect of having to veto a stronger Palestinian resolution calling the settlements illegal. But the Palestinians rejected the American offer following a meeting late Wednesday of Arab representatives and said it is planning to press for a vote on its resolution on Friday, according to officials familar with the issue. The decision to reject the American offer raised the prospect that the Obama adminstration will cast its first ever veto in the ...

BEIRUT: Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah called Wednesday on his fighters to stand ready to take over northern Israel in the event of a war with the Jewish state, a threat that earned a swift response by Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu. “I say to the fighters of the Islamic Resistance: Be ready. If a new war is imposed on Lebanon we may ask you to take Galilee, to free Galilee,” Nasrallah said in a televised speech in response to threats by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak to march into Lebanon. “Nasrallah declared today that he will conquer the Galilee. I have news for him. He won’t,” Netanyahu said. “There is no doubt Israel has the ...

YANGON: A mother in Myanmar says her baby girl's 12 fingers and 14 toes have been no disadvantage - her grip may even be stronger than normal - and now she's grasping for a Guinness record. Phyo Min Min Soe, 26, knew her girl Le Yati Min had a little something extra since nearly the moment she was born. "I asked the nurses whether my kid was born complete with hands and legs," says her mother. "They replied that the baby even has more than she needs." Born with 12 fingers and 14 toes, Le may be the most "digitally enhanced" person in the world. Now, the 16-month-old girl's family in impoverished Myanmar is seeking a Guinness World Record to prove ...

JEDDAH: The Permanent Committee for Research and Religious Edicts (Dar Al-Ifta) on Wednesday denied a press report that it had supported Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda. “This is a totally false report,” said Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, grand mufti and chairman of Dar Al-Ifta. Al-Asheikh said Dar Al-Ifta did not author a religious edict (fatwa) supporting Bin Laden and his activities. He said those who circulated on the Internet the false fatwa misusing the names and signatures of Dar Al-Ifta’s members would face the wrath and punishment of God. “Making false statement and attributing it to a person is a big crime and deserves punishment on the basis of Shariah ...

Ancient Britons 'drank from skulls'

Ancient Britons were not averse to using human skulls as drinking cups, skeletal remains unearthed in southwest England suggest. The braincases from three individuals were fashioned in such a meticulous way that their use as bowls to hold liquid seems the only reasonable explanation. The 14,700-year-old objects were discovered in Gough's Cave, Somerset. Scientists from London's Natural History Museum say the skull-cups were probably used in some kind of ritual. "If you look around the world there are examples of skull-cups in more recent times - in Tibetan culture, in Fiji in Oceania, and in India," said Dr Silvia Bello, a palaeontologist and lead author of a ...

SANAA, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has been in power for 33 years, dubbed the protesters who demanded his resignation as "elements of the coup", the official Saba news agency reported Wednesday. MISSION - CHANNEL 5 NEWS is exposing what appears to be a Mexican military incursion into the United States. It was all caught on camera. We froze surveillance video taken at the Anzalduas International Bridge. What you see is the international boundary that separates the United States from Mexico and what authorities on this side of the border seem to think is a truck packed with armed men crossing into the United States. The video clearly shows a large military-transport vehicle drive north on the Anzalduas bridge over the international boundary. We counted at least a dozen armed men in the back of the truck. The vehicle travels down the bridge toward the U.S. Customs checkpoint. Its ...
