What Financial Crisis? Greek’s Government Electing A New People Anyway Post Date: 2015-07-08 11:34:27 by nativist nationalist

News youve not heard from Greece: today (July 7) three parties in the Greek Parliament asked for a delay in new citizenship legislation that will not only legalize about 150,000 immigrants from Asia and Africainto a Greek population of just 11 million but will also set the basis for a massive influx of more, because of family reunification rulings. In addition, a humanitarian provision actually grants legal status and possibly citizenship to people with health issues, to victims of domestic violence, even to those claiming they were mistreated in their work environments in their countries and so on. The three opposition parties wanted the delay because of the ...
Fear China's stock-market earthquake Post Date: 2015-07-08 07:50:19 by tpaine

www.bbc.com Fear China's stock-market earthquake Market movements in China For all my obsession with the probable exit of Greece from the euro and the most important social-security-cutting and tax-reforming UK budget for many years, there is an earthquake happening in China that may end up touching our lives as much. It is the plunge over the past month of Chinese shares - whose value has dropped by around a third since the high of 12 June. So to make an apple-and-pears comparison: the loss in the value of Chinese companies at more than $3 trillion is about 20 times what most economists expect the write-offs of Greek government debt will ultimately turn out to be. The ...
Kenyan Leader Warns: If Obama Preaches ‘Gay Agenda, We Will Tell Him to Shut Up and Go Home’ Post Date: 2015-07-07 19:27:21 by cranky

Kenyan leaders are warning President Obama not to bring his gay agenda with him when he visits his fathers homeland at the end of this month to open the sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit. Following the U.S. Supreme Courts ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide, the White House image was cloaked in the militant LGBT rainbow, as was the Facebook profile picture of the U.S. Department of Education. In Nairobi on Monday, members of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya called upon Obama to refrain from discussing the gay agenda, reports CNSNews.com. It is important for us as Kenyans to know that the U.S. is not God, evangelical Bishop Mark Kariuki ...
Democrat On The Triumph Of Trump: MSM May Kill The Messenger—But Not The Message Post Date: 2015-07-07 15:21:08 by nativist nationalist

The overwhelming silent majority of American citizens who are immigration patriots have been wondering for years when someone would tell the truth and force the Main Stream Media to confront our post-1965 immigration disaster. But probably few of us expected it would be Donald Trump. Trump is the subject of an increasingly hysterical hate campaign for daring to mention illegal immigrant crime. Journalists are calling Trump a racist instead of confronting his common-sense messagethat a country which cant control its borders is not a country. This kind of reaction testifies to a kind of psychological problem with our Main Stream Media. Shooting the ...
Greece should adopt a flat sales tax and end income taxes Post Date: 2015-07-06 15:11:54 by Pericles

Greece is a country of small shop owners and wealthy billionaires but few workers in corporate systems where they get paid by a twice weekly check like in most of Western Europe and the USA. The Greeks have also been ruled by many tax greedy empires and have learned to hide wealth as part of their DNA. They won't dutifully pay taxes like a German or Scandinavian (who seem like a very servile people and seem to obey the govt as if it was God). Greeks can't be ruled easily. That is why they invented democracy because ruling them in any other way just did not work. Even the Romans gave up trying and made the Greek city-states autonomous for the most part. Through years of rule by ...
Greece votes No: The European Union is dying before our eyes Post Date: 2015-07-06 11:13:35 by nativist nationalist

It's not just disaffected pensioners: young Greeks have worked out that they don't need the bloated EU Despite the scaremongering and bullying from those in Brussels, we are waking today with Greece having delivered a resounding No. That comes despite EU bosses saying that it would mean a Greek exit from the Euro, not to mention the heavy economic pressure placed on the Greek people to go along with the wishes of Brussels. It is a crushing defeat for those Eurocrats who believe that you can simply bulldoze public opinion. Chief bully-boy Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, and other supposed leaders of the European Union did their best to terrify the Greek people ...
GREECE JUST TAUGHT CAPITALISTS A LESSON ABOUT WHAT CAPITALISM REALLY MEANS Post Date: 2015-07-06 10:30:28 by Willie Green

Greece has effectively voted to default on its debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union, and it is a massive defeat for Germany's Angela Merkel and the trio of creditors she led that insisted there was no way out for Greece but to pay back its massive debts. The vote is huge lesson for conservatives and anyone else who thinks this is about a dilettante government of left-wing idealists who think they can flout the law while staging some kind of Che Guevara-esque dream: Wrong. This is what capitalism is really about. From the beginning, Merkel and the EU have operated from the position that because Greece took on debt, Greece now needs to pay it back. That ...
Pope Francis to chew coca leaves during visit to Bolivia – minister “await the Holy Father” with the "sacred" leaves Post Date: 2015-07-05 18:44:33 by Hondo68

Reuters / Jaime Saldarriaga Pope Francis has made an unexpected request for his upcoming trip to Bolivia he wants to chew coca leaves, the natural source of cocaine, according to a government official. Bolivia says it will await the Holy Father with the "sacred" leaves. Culture Minister Marko Machicao told state broadcasters that the Bolivian government offered [the Pope] coca tea or something for the altitude on his upcoming visit. But the pontiff apparently has his sights on chewing coca leaves, which have been used by local people to ward off the effects of altitude for centuries. They are also believed to help with muscle pain and stave off ...
In rebuke to EU, Greece appears to decisively reject bailout terms Post Date: 2015-07-05 15:49:25 by buckeroo

Greece looked set Sunday to enter an even more volatile phase of its financial crisis as official projections forecast a resounding win for the no campaign in a referendum that could decide the countrys financial fate in the short term and its role in Europe in the long term.. The vote, on a proposed bailout deal from Athens international lenders, was a strong rebuke to European Union leaders who had warned that the plebiscite was, in effect, a vote on whether Greece wanted to keep on using the euro as its currency. With 57% of precincts reporting at 10:15 p.m. local time (12:15 p.m. PDT), the no camp was ahead by 61% to 39%, according to the Greek ...
Greeks vote for 'destiny' in poll putting euro future in doubt Post Date: 2015-07-05 11:04:08 by Justified

Athens (AFP) - Greece voted in a tightly fought referendum Sunday that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said will determine its "destiny" in the eurozone, as the EU country teetered on the brink of financial collapse. From remote Aegean islands to the shadow of the 2,400-year-old Parthenon in Athens, Greeks despairing at years of austerity -- and angry at capital controls this week that have closed banks and prompted a clean-out of supermarket shelves -- cast their ballots. Polls show opinion evenly divided between 'Yes' and 'No' with many believing neither result would provide a quick and clear solution to Greece's debt woes. Fear that a 'No' result ...
Bosnia: The cradle of modern jihadism? (The BBC kind of admits the Serbs were right) Post Date: 2015-07-05 00:53:17 by Pericles

Bosnia: The cradle of modern jihadism? By Mark Urban Diplomatic and defence editor, Newsnight 2 July 2015 From the section Europe Back in the 1990s something happened in central Bosnia-Herzegovina that inspired people to this day and helps explain why that country now has more men fighting in Syria and Iraq (over 300), as a proportion of its population, than most in Europe. The formation of a "Mujahideen Battalion" in 1992, composed mainly of Arab volunteers in central Bosnia, was a landmark. Today the dynamic of jihad has been reversed and it is Bosnians who are travelling to Arab lands. "There is a war between the West and Islam," says Aimen Dean, who, as a ...
Trump comes up top in 'poll of polls' of Republican voters - despite growing backlash over his anti-immigrant comments 'Poll of polls' shows Trump ahead of front-runner Jeb Bush Post Date: 2015-07-05 00:39:27 by A K A Stone

Donald Trump continues to stand by controversial comments he made about Mexican immigrants as his standings in Republican primary polls improve despite increasing criticism. The presidential hopeful placed ahead of perceived front-runner Jeb Bush in a new aggregated 'poll of polls' with 13.6 per cent support compared to the former Florida governor's 13.3. The rise comes as public figures and businesses continue to admonish Trump because of the comments saying that those crossing the border from Mexico illegally were 'rapists'. Former Republican candidate Mitt Romney told CNN Saturday that the businessman 'made a severe error in saying what he did about ...

Two rockets fired from Egypt's violence-plagued Sinai Peninsula exploded inside Israeli territory on Friday without causing casualties, a military spokesman said. "Two rockets fired from Sinai struck southern Israel, but without causing casualties or material damage," the spokesman said, without elaborating. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant jihadist group's affiliate in Egypt, "Sinai Province", said it had fired three Grad rockets at Israel. It said this was in retaliation for alleged Israeli support for Egypt's armed forces on Wednesday when the jihadists attacked army checkpoints in northern Sinai. Egypt is reeling from a string of deadly ...
Greek banks prepare plan to raid deposits to avert collapse Post Date: 2015-07-04 07:36:27 by cranky

Greek banks are preparing contingency plans for a possible bail-in of depositors amid fears the country is heading for financial collapse, bankers and businesspeople with knowledge of the measures said on Friday. The plans, which call for a haircut of at least 30 per cent on deposits above 8,000, sketch out an increasingly likely scenario for at least one bank, the sources said. A Greek bail-in could resemble the rescue plan agreed by Cyprus in 2013, when customers funds were seized to shore up the banks, with a haircut imposed on uninsured deposits over 100,000. It would be implemented as part of a recapitalisation of Greek banks that would be ...

President Obama on Tuesday will meet with the general secretary of Vietnam's Communist Party, the first such visit at the White House since the two countries normalized relations two decades ago. Obama and Nguyen Phu Trong are expected to discuss a range of issues, including the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade accord, bilateral defense cooperation and human rights, the White House said in a statement. The meeting will mark a rare time that Obama has played host in the Oval Office to a foreign leader who is not the official head of state. Obama met with Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang at the White House in 2013, and he met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung during ...

So, what are these signs of Noah that Jesus was referring to? However the Greek crisis ends, whether with Athens leaving the Eurozone, or submitting and accepting austerity at the dictates of its creditors, the European Union appears headed for an existential crisis. Greece borrowed and spent beyond its means, like New York City in the 70s, and Detroit, Illinois, and Puerto Rico today. But the crisis of Europe is about more than budget deficits and bad debts. All the momentum toward One Europethe dream of the generation of Jean Monnet that drove Europeans toward ever-deeper unionseems to have dissipated. The momentum is now toward separation and dissolution. The Greek crisis exposed one fault line in the union, the desire of the ...

Greece has failed to make the payment to the International Monetary Fund which was due at midnight Brussels time (11pm London, 6pm E.S.T.). If the IMF declares the non-payment a default then Greece becomes the first developed European country in 71 years of the IMF to join the club of defaulters, enjoying the illustrious company of the likes of Sudan, Zimbabwe and Somalia. At the same time as the possible default, the second European bailout package has now expired and tomorrow Greece, for the first time in five years, will operate without a financial safety net. What has in recent weeks become a cash economy may degenerate further as Greek bank account holders drain the banks of euros to ...

Time to free Puerto Rico as it asks for relief of $72 Billion in debt from US Taxpayers Post Date: 2015-06-29 20:08:18 by Pericles

If it was not for fear of Puerto Rico becoming another Soviet ally like Cuba, the USA would have freed that island long ago. Now we are stuck with a welfare island whose welfare taking citizens can just come to the USA with an American passport. But because of Hispanic politics and maybe lingering love of empire from the Military Industrial Complex, no American politician dares promise to free Puerto Rico. What would Puerto Rico do? Refuse to leave being a colony? That would be a first. At least under the old system Cold War, Puerto Rico made money for American businesses as a plantation island and as a steam ship era naval base. ...

Here's a news bulletin from the Iran talks in Vienna: US says system reached to give UN access to suspect Iran sites Vienna (AFP) - A system has been reached in talks between Iran and major powers towards a nuclear deal that will give the UN atomic watchdog access to all suspect sites, a senior US official said Monday. "The entry point isn't we must be able to get into every military site, because the United States of America wouldn't allow anybody to get into every military site, so that's not appropriate," the official said. "But if in the context of agreement... the IAEA believes it needs access and has a reason for that access then we have a process ...
