Recorded at the 2003 Supporters Summit: Prosperty, War, and Depression. Ralph Raico discusses how from Jefferson to Madison, and on to Bastiat, Molinari, and Spencer, the "classical" liberals routinely denounced war as the enemy of freedom, prudence, and natural rights. Black Ghosts in the White House
Post Date: 2023-08-09 02:13:56 by Charles_Byrd
From the very onset of America’s European colonization, what would ultimately become the United States was never really a closely united nation. For over a century prior to their declaration of independence and secession from British rule, the American colonies in the South had numerous deep-seated disputes with their Northern counterparts over a number of issues. Many of these arguments were geographic in nature and in 1763, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania appointed two English astronomers, Charles Mason of the Royal Greenwich Observatory and his assistant Jeremiah Dixon, to chart an official boundary line between the four colonies. Over a decade later, other ...

Post Date: 2023-08-08 01:19:36 by Charles_Byrd
A woman in Australia who spent 20 years in prison after being convicted of killing her four children has been released after new DNA evidence showed that all of the children, who died as infants over a 10 year period, possessed genetic mutations that could explain their deaths. In her initial conviction, there had been no physical evidence to suggest she'd killed the infants. Kathleen Folbigg, a 55-year-old woman from New South Wales (NSW), was accused of murdering her two daughters, Sarah and Laura, and son Patrick, as well as committing manslaughter against her other son, Caleb, between 1989 and 1999. In 2003, Folbigg was sentenced to 25 years in a maximum- security prison, where she ...

More trouble for Biden's campaign could come as the price hikes may also intensify as planned cuts in OPEC+ production, spearheaded by Saudi Arabia and Russia, take hold in international markets, with high summer temperatures also contributing to higher energy demand, which would further drive up prices. Not only does the world stand at the cusp of a potential new nuclear war, but the impact, consequences and relevance of such weapons have reached a new high in the cultural zeitgeist. Thompson later told an acquaintance in the neighborhood he was given a “bad batch of drugs,” prompting the sudden outburst with Callahan. Police arrested Thompson ...

KOSA Still Poses a Grave Threat to First Amendment Rights
Post Date: 2023-08-08 00:09:16 by Charles_Byrd
Today, TechFreedom sent a letter to the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee reiterating our concerns about the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). Last year, joined by leading Internet law and First Amendment scholars, we explained that KOSA would force platforms to age-verify their users and impose an undefinable and unmeetable duty of care—violating users’ First Amendment rights to anonymous expression and ensuring that minors will be cut off from information they are constitutionally entitled to receive. This year’s iteration of KOSA poses those same problems, only with slightly different words. “Platforms will still have to age-verify users, violating their First Amendment ...
