I Am a Racist
By John Kirkwood / 15 March 2013 Alright then, I am a racist a hate-filled, bitter racist. I hate white people. In particular the pasty-white, liberal toads that froth from the Hamptons and that play the race card like Barack Obama plays golf sheisty, at great cost, and all of the time. Take for example the recent dust up between The Huffington Post and Adam Carolla. Social commentator and sometimes funny-man, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsome had an exchange with the brilliant and cutting Carolla about poverty, which was then shaped by Robin Wilkey of the Huffington Post to sound like Gandhi talking to David Duke. Carolla, who argued for personal ...

Noodle House Owner: “I Don’t Care if a Bunch of White Kids Got Killed” (repents in Church)
Post Date: 2012-12-18 14:33:42 by hondo68
Racist comment on Facebook causes firestorm A racist comment by an Austin Noodle House owner has caused a firestorm of controversy, with one group demanding a boycott of the restaurant after Eddie Nimibutr responded to the Connecticut school shooting by remarking, I dont care if a bunch of white kids got killed. The full comment, posted on Nimibutrs Facebook page, read, Im failing to give a damn about the CT shooting. I dont care if a bunch of white kids got killed. F**k Post-Racial bullshit. When kids from minority groups get shot, nobody cares. When Israel launched missiles at the school on Gaza, everybody was too busy jerking off. Why should i ...
West Point Cadet Quits Military Academy Because Of Pervasive Christian Evangelism
Post Date: 2012-12-09 11:49:02 by Brian S
When Blake Page announced this week that he was quitting West Point a few months before graduation, citing the overt religiosity on campus, he raised recurring questions about the pervasiveness and impact of evangelical Christianity within the ranks of the US military. I do not wish to be in any way associated with an institution which willfully disregards the Constitution of the United States of America by enforcing policies which run counter to the same, Mr. Page wrote in his letter of resignation to the US Military Academy at West Point, in New York. He cites, among other things, routine prayers at mandatory events for cadets and the practice of awarding off-campus passes ...

Bryan Fischer: ‘Enormously insensitive’ to hurt God’s feelings by not using oil
Post Date: 2012-12-01 21:28:07 by Ferret Mike
Bryan Fischer, the director of issues analysis of the conservative fundamentalist American Family Association, on Thursday told a so-called expert who denies climate change that not using Gods fossil fuels would be like crushing someones feelings by rejecting their birthday present. The Cornwall Alliances Calvin Beisner, who has previously said that believing in climate change is an insult to God, explained on Thursday that the Bible said it was also very rude to not use oil, coal and natural gas. The wicked and lazy master was the one who buried his talent in the ground and didnt do anything to multiply it, Beisner ...

Why Evangelical Bible Idolatry Sucks and Why I Go to a Greek Orthodox Church Even Though It’s A Mess Too

Why Evangelical Bible Idolatry Sucks and Why I Go to a Greek Orthodox Church Even Though Its A Mess Too November 13, 2012 By Frank Schaeffer Having elevated the Bible or at least the nicer bits that they like to the status of a magic book evangelicals have demoted God. Their god is trapped in a book and kept somewhat like a tame rat inside the cage of biblical inerrancy. Since the evangelical/fundamentalists worship a book rather than God they cant admit that the Bible has flaws and is just plain crazy in places. So they spend lifetimes working to make sense of something nonsensical, mean and stupid. Why Bible idolatry is ...
Savita Halappanavar, Death: Irish Woman Denied Abortion Dies From Blood Poisoning
Post Date: 2012-11-14 14:50:04 by sneakypete
DUBLIN The debate over legalizing abortion in Ireland flared Wednesday after the government confirmed that a woman in the midst of a miscarriage was refused an abortion and died in an Irish hospital after suffering from blood poisoning. Prime Minister Enda Kenny said he was awaiting findings from three investigations into the death of Savita Halappanavar, a 31-year-old Indian woman who was 17 weeks pregnant. Her case highlighted the legal limbo in which pregnant women facing severe health problems can find themselves in predominantly Catholic Ireland. Ireland's constitution officially bans abortion, but a 1992 Supreme Court ruling found the procedure should be legalized for ...
Report: For The First Time In Its History, The United States Does Not Have A Protestant Majority
Post Date: 2012-10-09 10:56:49 by Brian S
NEW YORK (AP) -- For the first time in its history, the United States does not have a Protestant majority, according to a new study. One reason: The number of Americans with no religious affiliation is on the rise. The percentage of Protestant adults in the U.S. has reached a low of 48 percent, the first time that Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life has reported with certainty that the number has fallen below 50 percent. The drop has long been anticipated and comes at a time when no Protestants are on the U.S. Supreme Court and the Republicans have their first presidential ticket with no Protestant nominees. Among the reasons for the change a spike in the number of American adults who ...
‘Jesus Is a Monkey’: Tensions Intensify Between Jews & Christians in the Holy Land
Post Date: 2012-09-20 12:29:14 by Brian S
JERUSALEM (AP) After a series of attacks by vandals on Christian holy sites in Israel, normally tight-lipped Roman Catholic officials are beginning to speak out, publicly appealing to authorities to take a stronger stand against the violence. The Rev. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, one of the churchs top officials in the Holy Land, said he is worried about relations between Jews and Christians in the Holy Land. He believes the blame can go all around. I think the main atmosphere is ignorance, Pizzaballa told The Associated Press in an interview. In this Sept. 4, 2012, file photo, a Catholic monk stands in a doorway of the Latrun Trappist Monastery where Israeli police say ...
Joel Osteen tells Soledad O’Brien: LGBT people aren’t ‘God’s best’
Post Date: 2012-09-20 11:41:37 by Brian S
Conservative televangelist Joel Osteen on Thursday asserted that homosexuality was a sin and not Gods best but at the same time, he said had not chosen to be straight. During an interview on CNN, host Soledad OBrien asked Osteen how he could claim to be uplifting LGBT people while also telling them they were sinners. It seems like in Christianity, sometimes we categorize sin, Osteen explained. I mean pride is a sin, being critical is a sin, being negative is a sin. Those are all things you can change, OBrien noted. I dont think its Gods best, the evangelist insited. You would ...
A Faded Piece of Papyrus Refers to Jesus’ Wife [Full Thread]
Post Date: 2012-09-18 13:34:21 by Brian S
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. A historian of early Christianity at Harvard Divinity School has identified a scrap of papyrus that she says was written in Coptic in the fourth century and contains a phrase never seen in any piece of Scripture: Jesus said to them, My wife
' The faded papyrus fragment is smaller than a business card, with eight lines on one side, in black ink legible under a magnifying glass. Just below the line about Jesus having a wife, the papyrus includes a second provocative clause that purportedly says, she will be able to be my disciple. The finding is being made public in Rome on Tuesday at an international meeting of Coptic scholars ...
Panel Unanimously Decides to Regulate a Circumcision Ritual
Post Date: 2012-09-13 15:55:52 by jwpegler
The New York City Board of Health unanimously passed a regulation on Thursday that will require consent from parents before an infant can have a form of Jewish ritual circumcision, prevalent in parts of the ultra-Orthodox community, in which the circumciser uses his mouth to remove blood from the incision. In a morning meeting, the nine-member panel of doctors and public health professionals said that though the regulation had been challenged by some Orthodox Jewish religious authorities as an unconstitutional infringement of their religious freedom, the risk of disease from the ancient procedure was serious enough to warrant action. Indeed, some panel members said they believed that ...
DNC Erecting Creepy Giant Obama Sculpture (Obama theocracy - Mission Accomplished)
Post Date: 2012-09-01 14:48:53 by hondo68
Forget the marble pillars, this time there will be a giant 16-foot sculpture of Obama made out of 15.5 tons of sand at the Democratic National Convention. Building a giant sand sculpture of a living leader might be considered a bit tacky with its worshipful implications, but building one during a hurricane in South Carolina is in particularly bad taste. But if nothing else, at least Obama has found one Shovel Ready Project. And this isnt even the creepiest giant Obama sand sculpture ever made. The winner of that particular competition is still Sudarsan Pattnaik with this nightmare made out of sand.

The study found the commonly used phrase thats so gay to describe something undesirable can have negative consequences for gay, lesbian or bisexual students. The findings appear in the current issue of the Journal of American College Health. Researchers examined the impact of hearing thats so gay among 114 gay, lesbian ...

Muslima sues Disney: demands to wear hijab while appearing before customers
Post Date: 2012-08-15 08:33:00 by A K A Stone
"The Constitution tells me I can be Muslim, and I can wear the head scarf. Who is Disney to tell me I cannot?" A private company with a dress code that it is (at least so far) still free to implement. But the point of this case is to reinforce the principle that wherever Islamic law and American law and practice conflict, it is American law and practice that must give way. "Muslim Employee Suing Disney Over Right to Wear Hijab," from KTLA, August 13 (thanks to Pamela Geller): LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- A Muslim woman who worked as a hostess at a Disneyland restaurant is suing Disney, claiming the company wouldn't let her appear in front of guests while wearing her ...
Pat Robertson To LGBT Students: ‘Bring Forth A Baby’ Or ‘Shut Your Mouth’
Post Date: 2012-08-10 14:13:41 by Brian S
Televangelist Pat Robertson says that LGBT students protesting Christian fast food chain Chick-fil-A at about 30 colleges and universities across the U.S. should shut their mouth until they can bring forth a baby from that part of the anatomy which they concentrate on. During his Friday 700 Club broadcast, Robertson said he was outraged that activists were protesting a piece of white meat chicken between two pieces of white bread. I was reading today in Leviticus, which is the law of the Old Testament, but it lays out the reasons why land will vomit out its inhabitants and it goes through a category of stuff we are calling constitutional rights: ...
Catholic Nuns Send Letter To Romney Challenging His ‘Woeful Lack Of Knowledge’ About The Poor
Post Date: 2012-08-10 14:11:44 by Brian S
The group of Catholic nuns who launched the Nuns On A Bus tour to shed light on the effects the House Republican budget would have on the poor turned its attention to the GOPs presidential candidate this week, challenging Mitt Romney to join them for a day to learn about the plight of the poor. NETWORK, a Catholic social justice organization, issued the call on Wednesday and was joined yesterday by the Franciscan Action Network, an organization of friars and sisters. The nuns have now sent a letter to the Romney campaign, asking the candidate to join them during his current swing through Ohio. The letter again challenges Romneys misleading television ads about welfare reform, ...
