Montana governor signs law to define ‘sex’ as only male or female
Post Date: 2023-05-23 21:49:30 by Charles_Byrd
Republican Governor Greg Gianforte has signed a bill defining the word “sex” in state law as only male or female — joining Kansas and Tennessee, which have similar laws that LGBTQ+ advocates argue will deny legal recognition to nonbinary and transgender people. Medical professionals say the laws also ignore that some people are born as intersex — a term that encompasses about 60 conditions in which a person is born with genitalia, reproductive organs, chromosomes and/or hormone levels that don’t fit typical definitions of male or female. DOE Mobile-home Rule Won’t Save Planet, Will Make Housing More Expensive
Post Date: 2023-05-23 21:47:21 by Charles_Byrd
A new Department of Energy (DOE) rule requiring mobile homes to be made more energy-efficient in order to reduce carbon emissions not only will have no effect on carbon emissions, but also will drive up the cost of such housing, making it unaffordable for many low-income households. The DOE’s rule — all 97 pages of it — requires mobile, or manufactured, homes to meet strict energy-conservation standards by improving insulation and sealing. The rule is set to take effect next Wednesday, barely more than a year after it was finalized. Click for Full Text!

The FBI just got caught in yet more massive, outrageous FISA abuses
Post Date: 2023-05-22 18:57:13 by Charles_Byrd
Like the casino gambling scene in “Casablanca,” the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court is “shocked, shocked” that the Federal Bureau of Investigation continues to ravage the privacy of vast numbers of Americans. For each American the FISA court permitted the FBI to target, the bureau illicitly surveilled almost 1,000 additional Americans. Click for Full Text!

Theft Is Now Costing Retailers in the United States About 100 Billion Dollars a Year
Post Date: 2023-05-21 01:00:21 by Charles_Byrd
If we don’t fix this, will the retail industry be able to survive? There has always been shoplifting, but in the old days it was at a level that made it only a minor nuisance to the big box retailers. Unfortunately, now everything has changed. Highly organized gangs have developed extremely sophisticated plans for how to rapidly loot our major retailers, and the best ones can be in and out in just minutes. Those goods are then resold online or in the streets, and the amounts that we are talking about are absolutely staggering. In fact, as you will see below, theft is now costing retailers in this country about 100 billion dollars a year. This week, Target made headlines all over the ...

The Texas legislature has sent a bill limiting gender-transition treatments for minors to the desk of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who is expected to sign it. The senate voted 19–12 to ban the treatments, including surgeries and medications. There is an exemption for minors who are already undergoing gender transition, but they must wean themselves of medications over an unspecified period of time. Click for Full Text!

South Carolina House passes six-week abortion ban
Post Date: 2023-05-19 02:00:38 by Charles_Byrd
House lawmakers in South Carolina passed a bill late Wednesday that would ban most abortions in the state after six weeks of pregnancy, moving it closer to continuing a trend in the South of restricting abortion access. The bill passed by an 82-33 vote, largely along party lines with two Democrats in the chamber joining Republicans. The bill now heads to the state Senate. Click for Full Text!

Bipartisan lawmakers introduce legislation requiring AM radios in new cars
Post Date: 2023-05-19 01:58:33 by Charles_Byrd
A bipartisan group of lawmakers has introduced a bill that would require all new cars to include AM radio as many manufacturers have increasingly been phasing it out. A release from the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee on Thursday states Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who serves as the committee’s ranking member, and Ed Markey (D-Mass.), another committee member, are leading a group of nine other members of Congress from both parties to support the AM for Every Vehicle Act. Another Oregon County May Have Voted to Explore a Move to Idaho
Post Date: 2023-05-19 01:48:46 by Charles_Byrd
Although not yet official, the Greater Idaho movement, which looks to move eastern Oregon counties into Idaho, a state more in tune with eastern Oregon’s political and cultural values, is claiming that the movement has grabbed a 12th county in its quest. Election-night totals show that Wallowa County in far northeast Oregon passed the measure by a slim margin of 1,721 “yes” votes to 1,700 “no” votes. However, Oregon law allows for ballots postmarked by 8:00 p.m. on election day to be counted if they arrive at election offices within seven days. Click for Full Text!

An 18-year veteran in law enforcement warned to beware of Homeland Security training that is being pushed to local law enforcement. “You might be a Domestic Terrorist If” you believe in civil liberties, or if you actually believe in your Constitutional rights. Sadly, this is NOT a joke. We’ve all heard the “You might be a Redneck If” jokes, but in this series “You might be a Domestic Terrorist If” you believe in civil liberties, or if you actually believe in your Constitutional rights. Sadly, this is not a joke. You might also be a terrorist if you have ever expressed concerns about Big Brother. Are you a Christian who has ever discussed the anti- Christ, ...

Our Two Deep States, One Public, One Private
Post Date: 2023-05-16 23:16:08 by Charles_Byrd
In 2007, well before the term Deep State entered the common lexicon, I sketched the interconnected public-private pieces of the Deep State, which I termed the elite maintaining and extending global dominance. This diagram doesn't make all the connections or list all the consequential nodes of influence of course, but you get the idea: elected officials, i.e. "democracy," play a modest role in the entire structure, which displays remarkable continuity regardless of which politicians and parties are currently in power. That's the whole idea, of course: continuity that can't be disrupted by an election. Click for Full Text!

The city of Waltham, Massachusetts, has been sued by a couple after police showed up at their home in a middle-of-the-raid raid and demanded to take custody of their two children. The US Is in a Financial Crisis Worse than ’08
Post Date: 2023-05-12 20:31:39 by Charles_Byrd
During his post-FOMC meeting press conference, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell insisted that the US banking system is resilient and sound. He said this despite the failure of First Republic Bank just days before the Fed meeting. Peter Schiff appeared on the Claman Countdown on Fox News and argued that Powell and others are wrong. He said the US economy is in a financial crisis worse than in 2008. Andy Brenner, head of international fixed income at National Alliance Securities, also appeared in the segment. He started things off by saying problems in the banking sector are “not over by a longshot.” Click for Full Text!

A Los Angeles Police Department detective bashed the city for a recent proposal to use unarmed personnel from other departments to handle traffic stops during a televised interview Friday. "I don't understand who comes up with these ideas, but it's really a subtle form of still defunding the police," Detective Jamie McBride said during a televised interview on "Fox & Friends" Friday. The New Global Information Cartel: Censorship-industrial Complex
Post Date: 2023-05-11 20:19:49 by Charles_Byrd
In his 1961 farewell address, President Dwight Eisenhower warned Americans to “guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex [MIC].” At the time, Eisenhower was concerned that our arms industry with its ever increasing financial and political power might conquer our Republic from within. He recognized that the rapid growth of the MIC, along with the “domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment,” would drive public policy that would “itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.” Since Eisenhower’s warning decades ago, the federal government has ...

Carlson: Media Lie 24-7-365; New Show Will Appear on Twitter
Post Date: 2023-05-11 20:12:09 by Charles_Byrd
In his second message on Twitter since Fox News dumped him last month, Tucker Carlson announced that he would take the show to Twitter. Speaking two days ago on the social-media platform, Carlson said the leftist media are a lie-and-propaganda machine that runs 24-7-365. They not only restrict free speech, but also are helping crush it by circumscribing debate to a fixed narrative. Commentary contrary to that narrative is not allowed, and so free speech is dying. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., once again stymied his Democrat colleagues from approving nearly 200 promotions for military generals and flag officers—while also picking up an ally in his ongoing dispute with the Pentagon over its new abortion policy. The latest standoff took place Wednesday evening when Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., asked for unanimous consent to move forward with the nominations. As he has done repeatedly, Tuberville objected. This time, Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., stood by his colleague. Click for Full Text!

California Scheming: Reparations Too Gruesome, Says Governor Newsom
Post Date: 2023-05-11 19:52:10 by Charles_Byrd
Some may call it having created a monster. Others may say he’s being hoist with his own petard. What’s for sure is that after helping create his state’s “Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans,” California Governor Gavin Newsom is stuck between a rock and a very, very expensive place: His task force just recommended an $800 billion reparations scheme — and Newsom, realizing he doesn’t actually have a money tree and that 27 more California gold rushes aren’t nigh, is balking at the bill.
