The Beatles are considered by many to be the greatest band of all time. Therefore, it is not surprising that most of their songs are well known by the general public, even though some people around and in this day and age do not know who Paul McCartney is. As it happens with the great groups who produce music of the highest quality, some true gems slip through the cracks. Here are five of those. 5. "I Will" In 1968, all four members of The Beatles traveled to India for a spiritual retreat. While there, the inspiration bug, leading them to write most of the White Album, hit them. "I Will" was one of the songs written there, and given the vastness and the wide popularity ...

By Daisy Luther With all of the ridiculous new regulations, coddling, and societal mores that seem to be the norm these days, its a miracle those of us over 30 survived our childhoods. Heres the problem with all of this babying: it creates a society of weenies. There wont be more more rebels because this generation has been frightened into submission and apathy through a deliberately orchestrated culture of fear. No one will have faced adventure and lived to greatly embroider the story.Kids are brainwashed yes, brainwashed into believing that the mere thought of a gun means youre a psychotic killer waiting for a place to rampage. They are terrified to ...

The web server running LibertysFlame.com has reached the end of its support cycle, and therefore needs to be upgraded. I'll be doing the upgrade in the next day or three. This will be a major upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04 to perhaps version 14.x, so there may be an extended outage if there are any issues. This is advanced notice so you know what is going on. Thanks.

Rushes to Judgment: The Top 10 Assassination Movies Post Date: 2015-04-23 09:18:20 by Deckard

April 15 is the 150th anniversary of Pres. Abraham Lincolns death. The cinema is full of assassination and conspiracy-themed plots. Dont forget, the Great Emancipator was shot by actor John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865 at Fords Theatre while watching the play Our American Cousin. One hundred years ago D.W. Griffith directed what may be the first major Hollywood motion picture to depict a political assassination scene: 1915s The Birth of a Nation (the film used as a recruiting tool for the KKK), with future director Raoul Walsh playing Booth. The Lincoln slaying was part of a political plot by sympathizers of the just defeated Confederacy. But the 1963 shooting of ...
Haters are going to hate but they also might be less productive in the workplace, study says Post Date: 2015-04-19 00:58:58 by Gatlin

EAST LANSING, MI -- Science tells us that haters are going to hate, but a recent study by Michigan State University researchers also says haters in the workplace are less productive. According to a study by Michigan State University management professor Russell Johnson and doctoral student Szu-Han Lin, workers who point out problems in the office without offering solutions often become mentally fatigued and defensive. This can lead to a drop-off in production, Johnson said. However, those who suggest ideas for improvement can have a positive effect on the work place, he said. "The moral of this story is not that we want people to stop raising concerns within the company, because ...

HAPPY EASTER, Liberty Flamers! The letters "INRI" are initials for the Latin title that was posted over the head of Jesus Christ on the cross. The English translation is, "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews." Imagine--if you can, dear hearts-- That twas you---who went to find An empty tomb--JESUS gone Guard soldiers all struck blind Imagine--hearing an angel speak-- Saying "He is risen, and is not here"!! How happy would your heart be-- Could you retain-- that joyful tear? Imagine--the hastening of your steps As you rushed to share the news. The rocky path, no longer steep But smooth beneath your shoes Imagine remembering the promise ...
Google 'makes people think they are smarter than they are' Post Date: 2015-04-01 10:41:53 by Deckard

Search engines like Google or Yahoo make people think they are smarter than they actually are because they have the world's knowledge at their fingertips, psychologists at Yale University have found. Browsing the internet for information gives people a widely inaccurate view of their own intelligence and could lead to over-confidence when making decisions, experts warn. In a series of experiments, participants who had searched for information on the internet believed they were far more knowledgeable about a subject that those who had learned by normal routes, such as reading a book or talking to a tutor. Internet users also believed their brains were sharper. "The ...

SysAdmin informed me that he was contacted through the LP site by the condo administration seeking information about Sally's next of kin. They told him that the coroner's office concluded that Sally died of some kind of lung disease. What disease, I don't know, but it was a kind she may not have even been aware she had. That's what SysAdmin told me he was told the condo admin was told. So there you have it. I have no other details.
