Chapter 1 1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: 6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: 7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus ...

No one really knows. However, there seems to be good/bad news: no one really cares. The challenge of this thread is to prove me wrong. You can't and here is the reason: there is no good news anywhere around the planet; there hasn't been good news for decades. There is no God and there is no reason for "good" or "bad" about anything.

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: ...

1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3 And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: ...

Fox Rejects 2011 Super Bowl Ad; Jesus Hates Obama Ad Rejected Post Date: 2011-01-21 10:01:03 by Happy Quanzaa

In just a few weeks, the Chicago Bears (theres a remote chance it will be the Green Bay Packers) will be playing in the Super Bowl against the New York Jets or the Pittsburgh Steelers. And you know what that means, a series of great commercials. But Fox has already rejected one 2011 Super Bowl ad from the website JesusHatesObama.com. JesusHatesObama.com is a conservative comedy website. The add shows two bobble heads, one of Obama, and one of Jesus. Obamas head bobbles idiotically, while Jesus stares on with disgust. Eventually, Obama falls into a fish tank. Its probably a good thing that this ad got pulled. Not because it was offensive, but because it wasnt funny. ...

Torn by Bullying Suicides, Pastor Says He's Gay Post Date: 2010-11-15 17:57:38 by sneakypete

Despite feeling called by God to spread the gospel, he lived a lie for decades, fearing that the truth would not set him free, as John the Apostle promised, but ruin his life and his devotion to preaching. Bishop Jim Swilley founded a Greater Atlanta house of worship in 1985 that has grown into a mega-church. He married twice and fathered four children. He traveled the country giving sermons about Christ and Christian love, but kept secret his own feelings on human desires. But on a recent Wednesday night, he stepped out of the closet while sitting in the pulpit of his 1,200-member, nondenominational Evangelical church and announced he was gay -- something he said he neither chose nor ...
Did God Really Say We Inherit Adam’s Sin? Post Date: 2010-10-21 20:53:54 by A K A Stone

Behold I was brought forth in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Psalm 51:5) Todays big question: did God really say we inherit Adams sin? In AD 418, the Council at Carthage rejected the views of a man named Pelagius. Pelagius believed that each soul was directly created by God and thus man was born without a sinful nature. If true, it would follow that a person could be saved on personal merit, apart from the Saviors atoning sacrifice. The Council condemned Pelagianism as heresy because of passages, such as Romans 5:1221, which emphatically state that because of Adams sin, all of his descendants have been made sinners. The church has often ...

Opinion piece about Westboro Baptist Church. [Full Thread] Post Date: 2010-09-12 14:14:49 by Ferret Mike

Westboro Baptist Church preaches that all the world’s tragedies can be blamed on society’s tolerance of gays.
Pastor Fred Phelps Sr. leads the Topeka, Kan., congregation of 70 to 80 members, most of whom are his children and grandchildren. Although Westboro identifies itself as Baptist, it is not affiliated with any known Baptist convention or association.
The congregation has made headlines by picketing at military funerals, arguing that the soldiers’ deaths are God’s punishment for homosexuality. The group also protested at the Rev. Jerry Falwell’s funeral, calling him a “false prophet,” and recently in West Virginia, where 29 miners were killed, with signs that read, “Thank God for ...
SATAN LAUGHING AS FAKE CHURCH INSTALLS DYKE WHO THINKS SHE IS A PRIEST Post Date: 2010-09-11 18:04:35 by A K A Stone

The carpet muncher Daria Schaffnit is set to take over what used to be Gods House tomorrow Sept 12 at a godless "church" that is now apparently catering to people who refuse to take Gods word seriously. The Bible is clear that homosexual relationships are immoral and a sin. But this doesn't bother the people who go to this place of worship. She is a mockery to Christianity. She is one of those queer activists who actually tried to marry another woman. Come on another woman? Everyone knows that marriage is between a man and a woman. She must think that it is cute to mock God. She is not qualified to teach anyone anything as she has turned her back on the biblical scriptures that she is ...

They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them. Nehemiah 9:17 Psalm 30:4-5 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:4-5 Psalm 37:8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. Psalm 37:8 Psalm 145:8 ...

In her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, written by a US man, and posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative: Dear Dr. Laura: Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... End of debate. ...

(by Bill Salus) The Missler article: For many years we have been following the conventional view of Ezekiel 38 and 39, the ill-fated invasion attempt of Magog and its allies, notably Iran. With the growing tensions between Iranas an ostensible nuclear powerand Israel, these passages are the subject of much current discussion and debate. However, the conventional view still leaves a number of puzzling inconsistencies and contradictions. Ezekiel 38 indicates that Israel is dwelling safely and ...

Chapter 25: What about Satan and the Origin of Evil? Post Date: 2010-07-29 23:45:51 by A K A Stone

Christians are often asked questions about Satan: Who is he? Was he created? When was he created? These and similar questions are valid questions to ask. To answer them, we need to carefully consider what the Bible says, since it is the only completely reliable source of information about Satan. The Bible doesnt give much information about Satan or the angels, but it does give enough to answer some of these questions. Gods Word is infallible and the absolute authority, and we need to be leery of conclusions drawn from sources outside the Bible, such as mans ideas or traditions. Lets consider what the Bible says related to these questions. Who Is Satan and Was He ...
The unforgivable sin Post Date: 2010-07-29 02:23:29 by Craig_Portwood

The idea that there could be a sin so grievous to God that it will never be forgiven, is a very scary thing to most Christians. It is not uncommon for believers to question at one point or another, whether they have strayed so far from God as to have forfeited any hope of redemption. To further complicate the issue, there are more than a few believers who have reached and promote conclusions which are unsupported by scripture. This can lead to much needless worry on the part of believers. That there is a sin so heinous that God will not forgive it, is naturally something dreadful to Christians. Forgiveness lies at the heart of our faith. If there is indeed a sin unpardonable by God, we ...

Many doctrines espoused by the so called church, are clearly not supported by a plain reading of the Bible but are instead, propped up by false interpretations of Gods Word. Without exception, such false interpretations have been put in place to propagate a hidden theological agenda. This practice of the deceitful handling of the Word of God, is accepted by believers, who embrace such things because they are put forth by religious organizations who make a false claim of authority over their unwitting victims. In the end, it is the believers themselves who are to blame for trusting their chosen spiritual "experts," over the Word given to them by God. Read more>>

A gay priest sex scandal has rocked the Catholic Church in Italy today after a weekly news magazine released details of a shock investigation it had carried out. Using hidden cameras, a journalist from Panorama magazine - owned by Italian Prime Minister and media baron Silvio Berlusconi - filmed three priests as they attended gay nightspots and had casual sex. Today there was no immediate comment from the Italian Bishops Conference and the Vatican - which has been rocked by a series of sex scandals involving paedophile priests since the start of the year. A preview of the Panorama article sent out by email last night added that video footage from the investigation would be made available. ...

God always assists those who seek after him to live pure in heart, mind and spirit. For example, the prophet Ezekiel wrote about the terrible judgments that would come against Israel. He then spoke of three upright men, namely Job, Noah and Daniel. He informed his readers that these three men would be able to escape the coming judgment by their righteousness: Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their ...
