| Longtime Freeper on Free Republic since 2006. Recently banned by founder Jim Robinson inexplicably after posting a news article regarding the double standard being enforced nationally by law enforcement at what I believe to be the direction of the Obama Administration regarding the leeway given Hispanic drivers who through inattention or lack of training cause fatal auto accidents yet are never charged with any offense. The article concerned the death of a 21-year-old pregnant white mother who was run down by a Hispanic male driver while crossing a street at six in the morning on a clear dry day. The driver despite leaving the scene of the collision was not charged with a crime or any violation whatsoever. The police stated the driver was "not responsible" for the two deaths. It astounded me that any law enforcement agency would make such a statement, considering it is not a court of law or a jury. In fifty years of being a licensed driver, I have always believed pedestrians have the right of way under all circumstances, and as a result have been fortunate to never have had this kind of accident. After posting this article to FR I was immediately accused online in the comments of being a bigot and a racist. But what further astounded me was the fact that, in over 65 posted responses to the article, not one FReeper expressed any sympathy whatsoever for the white female pedestrian and her unborn child who both lost their lives that morning. At that point I believe I decided it would be better to be banned from FR than to continue to be associated with individuals who, en masse, including the founder, Jim Robinson, appear to have entirely lost their moral compass. God help this country. |
