Day Without a Mexican" Seen as Protesting Arizona Law

Author: Forsyth- WOAI

2010-05-13

Today is 'A Day Without a Mexican,' as designated by Chambers of Commerce in northern Mexico as a response to the tough illegal immigration law in Arizona, 1200 WOAI news reports.

The chambers are encouraging people across several northern Mexico states not to enter the United states today to shop or to do business, and to withhold their patronage from any U.S. companies.

The name is a reference to the 2004 movie of the same name which portrays Mexican Americans withholding their labor in the US.

Ramiro Cavazos, President of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, says he understands the frustrations of Mexicans and Mexican Americans.

"The only was we're going to se the impact that these types of bad laws have is to point out the economic impact along the border," Cavazos said.

As much as 90% of the economies of Texas border communities is based on trade with Mexico. Today's one day protest is seen as symbolic, but Cavazos says it points out how interrelated our economies are.

"I respect their decision and I think it shows that this is an economic issue and not an immigration issue," he said.

San Antonio's Mayor later today is expected to demonstrate the city's opposition to the Arizona law, but San Antonio is not expected to go as far as some major cities like Los Angeles and boycott Arizona companies.

If Owe-bama, Pelosi and Reid are so upset with the Arizona law, I have a simple question for them.

'Why haven't any of you offered a bill to eliminate or modify the existing FEDERAL LAW UPON WHICH IT IS BASED?'

We all know 'why'.

I just wish somebody within the House or Senate would ask it, from the floor of either chamber, and in interviews.

We are lucky enough to have an honorable host.

It's an enumerated powers issue, Boofer.

Not that you - or Pills who said this the other day - would understand.

So why do we have a federal reserve bank?....unconstitutional Why do we have paper money?......unconstitutional

States regularly enforce federal law.

The Arizona law is an ideal model for the rest of the country.

Then they can deport all of them greasy mexicans.

Then if they come back cut their balls off.

Then all you white assholes who sided against reason and common sense can get the fuck out too.

We need a united country. We need the liberals gone forever.

We have a federal system in this country, most of us believe in federalism. The Arizona law is well within their rights, the bounds of a reasonable effort to deal with something that is a real problem in Arizona. And this relaxed attitude towards gangs, illegal drugs, smuggling, murders, rapes, robberies, and so on, just isn't going to work anymore.

If oboomerang, pelosi or Reid were to offer up a bill to eliminate or modify the existing FEDERAL LAW upon which this is based, other states will follow Arizona's example, and in quick sessesion, things will happen so quick we won't see it coming. JMHO!

Holder hasn't even read the law. I doubt Pelosi, Reid, or Owe-bama have either.

Why clutter things up with fact, huh?

If they really felt as strongly as they talk, they'd submit a bill to change the Federal Law upon which it is based, and largely copied word for word.

We all know why they won't. Whats interesting is this is the second issue in two months where well over 60% of voters are at odds with the Democrats position.

Clinton would have moved politically. These arrogant bastards? Nope. Tells me they know they've already lost this election cycle.

We are lucky enough to have an honorable host.

The FRB is not unconstitutional. It was created by the Congress as it's chosen means to regulate the value of money.

It is not within the power of the states to regulate or enforce the ingress and egress of this nation.
