Sarah Palin will attend a fundraiser later today in Minneapolis for Rep. Michele Bachmann, and Democrats are using the opportunity to have some fun mocking what they see as two of the Republican Party's most colorful and kookiest characters.
First up:
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is out with a "Bachmann or Palin" quiz, in which it challenges you to correctly guess which individual uttered a set of highlighted "lies."
"One says that President Obama is trying to force America's youth into re-education camps," writes the DCCC. "The other insists that health insurance reform will create government-sponsored 'death panels.' The outrageous lies by Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin have become the stuff of legend. In anticipation of their big joint appearance at a GOP fundraiser, we thought we'd put our DCCC supporters to a test: How good are you at telling which one said which lie?"
Not to be outdone, the Democratic National Committee is up with a "greatest hits" video montage of Palin/Bachmann quotes, dubbing the two "extreme faces of the GOP."
DCCC spokesman Ryan Rudominer explained the motivation behind the quiz thus: "The outrageous death panel lies and extremist rhetoric from Sarah Palin and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is exactly the type of out-of-control behavior from House Republicans and their right-wing allies that fires up our 4 million-plus grass-roots supporters and turns off independents and just about everyone else. Just as PalinsPrimaries.com shows how Republicans in House primaries have moved to the far right, the DCCC is using this unique gathering of Palin and Bachmann to highlight the extremism of the current Republican Party."
