Last Saturday, Malva, along with two friends, made plans to visit the Ica Nära store in Mörrum. Rickard Bökman, Malvas father, shared, We had dinner rather late on Saturday afternoon, almost evening, and the children were craving some Saturday candy. Since it was only around seven oclock, the parents believed it wasnt too late for Malva and her friends to make a quick trip to the store. The Ica store is conveniently located just a few hundred meters from their residence in the small community outside Karlshamn. Brutal assault However, their outing took a horrifying turn before they even entered the store. A group of young individuals, including teenage girls and a boy, viciously attacked them. Rickard Bökman disclosed, The gang that assaulted them consisted of six to eight individuals aged 16 to 18. As a result of the assault, Malva lost consciousness, and one of her friends was also subjected to violence. The group of attackers fled the scene, taking her friends electric scooter, while Malvas phone lay shattered on the street. Upon receiving a call about the incident, Rickard immediately rushed to the scene. The police also arrived promptly, and Malva was taken to the emergency room where she spent the night. No intervention Medical professionals later confirmed that Malva had suffered a concussion from the assault. When youre twelve years old and subjected to something like this, it leaves a lasting impact. Rickard also noted that several witnesses observed the children being attacked by the older group. Numerous people witnessed the incident, but unfortunately, no one intervened. The police have multiple witnesses, so they have some names to work with, he stated. Police: Keep quiet about details Malva and her friends are unfamiliar with the perpetrators, who are older youths with whom they do not associate. However, Malva has seen a couple of them before in Mörrum. The police have asked us not to disclose or accuse anyone; they prefer to handle it calmly and methodically. So, weve agreed to their request since they are currently under investigation. This has been ongoing throughout the week, Rickard explained. Meanwhile, the father of the other assaulted child has been more outspoken on social media. On Facebook, he described the group as girls aged 15-18, the boy aged 17-20, dressed in dark clothing, with black curly hair, all of foreign descent. Samnytt has made repeated attempts to contact the station commander and the on-call investigator at the Karlshamn police station, where the brutal assault is being investigated. A station commander in Blekinge explained that the police are dealing with a substantial workload and is uncertain if anyone has been apprehended in connection with the assault on the children. Rickard Bökman expressed his dismay about the state of society, especially considering how it has affected his own daughter. Its distressing that events like this transpire. Children should never have to endure violence like this. One begins to wonder, where is the breakdown? Are we, as adults, not present enough? Are we doing too little? There are parents of the youths who perpetrated this act. What are they doing? What are they thinking? he pondered. Its a cycle of violence within society, and it represents a rather sorrowful development. It feels as though all of us, from the government to individuals, must take action. We cannot allow things to persist in this manner. Source: Samnytt Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread |
