(ChattahBox)Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is getting primaried by teapartier J.D. Hayworth and he is desperately trying to show his right-wing bonafides to hang on to his Senate seat. But McCains pandering is becoming painful to watch. Earlier this week, the maverick ridiculously claimed that he was misled by then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, regarding the TARP program, and thats why he supported it. How far right will he go to appeal to a group of confused angry populists? At least McCains latest ad targets the conspiracy theorist birther fringe of the teaparty movement, which Hayworth is a part of. And the attack ad even has an entertaining cameo appearance by crazy Birther Queen Orly Taitz. The ad starts off with the statement: These are serious economic timesYet some are consumed by conspiracies. Top birthers Orly Taitz and Philip Berg are shown spewing their claims that President Obama is not a natural born citizen. And then Hayworth is shown spouting his birther nonsense, suggesting that the issue of Obamas legitimacy has something to do with identity theft.
