UK Election: Exit Poll Suggests Historic Tory Majority, Hard-Left Labour Collapse

By Oliver JJ Lane
Breitbart
12 Dec 2019

A poll of voters taken during election day has suggested the centre-right, Brexit-promising Conservative party of Boris Johnson has achieved a historic victory over Jeremy Corbyn’s increasingly hard-left Labour party.

The exit poll puts the Conservatives on 368 seats and Labour on 191, with the United Kingdom looking forward to an evening and morning of results confirming — or correcting — the prediction as given.

The projected figure was broadcast by the British state media company and others at 2200 GMT as polling stations closed and, if correct, would put present Prime Minister Boris Johnson in an extremely strong position to deliver on his manifesto promises of Brexit, as well as domestic and foreign policy.

A majority of 368, if the exit poll is correct, is obviously nothing like any election result the United Kingdom has seen in the past decade. The last time any UK party exceeded that number was the then left-centrist Labour party in its 1997 landslide under europhile globalist Tony Blair, who won 418 seats.

The last Tory win of such a magnitude was Margaret Thatcher in 1983, when she won 397 seats, a majority of 144 seats.

this is a good result for common sense, and if someone wants Scotland to drift off bring in the bulldozers, rebuild Hadrian's Wall, and repatriate all those Scottish invaders. The IQ of both countries will be higher

I have my doubts that Scotland will opt to split from the UK and join the EU. It may be interesting to monitor developments along the Ireland/Northern Ireland border. The EU wanted a hard border if BREXIT. And who is going to implement that? I doubt there is any interest in Northern Ireland or the Republic for that.

A few more nations may follow the UK's lead.

Yes there is unrest, some don't want to kautow to Merkel's demand they should pay for her reckless decision making and there are cracks in France where the people are in revolt over socialist crap.

I cannot see how Scotland could benefit from withdrawl from Britain, there would be a hard border, and Scotland would have to find its own revenues to sustain the welfare system. It is just not realistic. there will eventually have to be a hard border in Northern Ireland or perhaps they will succeed too, would be an ideal result for Britain, getting rid of two troublesome neighbours

Add Italy, Greece and those overflowing with immigrants due to the EU policy. Forty or so years ago, a London joke was how does one tell who are the Irish bus drivers? They are the ones with a shamrock in their turban.

I cannot see how Scotland could benefit from withdrawl from Britain, there would be a hard border, and Scotland would have to find its own revenues to sustain the welfare system.

There would only be a hard border if Scotland and England make it so. See Northern Ireland, below.

When I was there, in the far North, there was anti-English sentiment expressed by getting the British national anthem off the telly when it played every night, or by their singing of Flower of Scotland. They even stopped playing the annual England-Scotland football match because of riots.

One way Scotland might benefit is by not having Britain dump its nuclear waste in Scotland. As Scottish MP's argued, if it is so safe, bury it under the House of Commons.

It is just not realistic. there will eventually have to be a hard border in Northern Ireland or perhaps they will succeed too, would be an ideal result for Britain, getting rid of two troublesome neighbours

Northern Ireland and the Republic are staunchly opposed to a hard border. Before there was an EU, there was no hard border, even though it was then an international border, at least according to Northern Ireland. Before the Good Friday agreement, the Republic continued to claim all thirty-two counties, while recognizing they were unable to govern the six occupied counties. A person born in Northern Ireland was eligible for an Irish passport from the Republic. For the agreement, the Republic eliminated their claim of thirty-two county sovereignty from their constitution.

Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain and never has been. The country is the United Kingdom, which is the short form of the more formal United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The term British is used kind of indiscriminately as no term has ever caught on for the UK. There is no such term as UKer.

Implementing a hard border would likely revive the IRA, or some derivitive group, to attack the border, or those who implement it. If the Republic does not implement a hard border, who is going to do it? The EU? Or would the EU expel the Republic? If that is the key to leaving the EU, others might try it.

Evidently, nobody has come up with a solution acceptable to all parties.
