Paul Manafort, formerly President Donald Trump's campaign chairman, pleaded guilty on Friday to two counts and agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors. Prosecutor Andrew Weissman called Manafort's plea deal a cooperation agreement during an 11 a.m. hearing at the federal courthouse in Washington. A charging document filed Friday in the District of Columbia accuses Manafort, 69, of participating in a conspiracy against the United States — involving money laundering, tax fraud, failing to file Foreign Bank Account Reports, violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and lying and misrepresenting to the Department of Justice. The second charge, conspiracy to obstruct justice, is tied to his efforts to guide witness testimony after he was indicted last year. Poster Comment: WHY was Manafort installed as Dip-Shit II's campaign manager ?? Rooting out corruption is always a good thing and I have no objection to anyone who is truly corrupt being targeted even if they have ties to Trump. On the other hand, there's no evidence floated that Trump is corrupt In fact he's not even been accused of committing crimes. The best the left can do is say things like he's a bigger disaster to the USA than 911 was. Which is, of course, embarrassingly hyped hatred of the guy. On the other hand, if we compare the legal treatment of Trump & associates with Hillary and Associates, the difference is night and day. Hillary would never survive half the amount of honest legal scrutiny that Mueller has put on Trump with her email server. And any Russian collusion on election meddling was committed by Hillary. Why and how Mueller's investigation into that could end up targeting Manafort for something he did before Trump even announced his candidacy and not Hillary is not much of a mystery, now is it? Mueller is part of the Deep Swamp. And the Deep Swamp hates Trump. Just like you do, Jameson. How people could hate Trump so much they are willing to ally themselves with the federal machinations that have so completely undermined all the country is supposed to be about is an amazing demonstration of the power of human psychology.
