Title: Over a Dozen Cops Swarm, Arrest Tiny Girl For Sitting Incorrectly on the Subway

Los Angeles, CA — Dramatic footage has just been released showing 18-year-old Bethany Nava, a West Hollywood resident, getting arrested for having her foot on the subway seat in front of her. According to the Facebook live video, Nava was riding the Red Line Metrorail when the confrontation with police occurred.

An unnamed LAPD officer, a sergeant, had reportedly asked Nava to remove her foot from an adjoining seat but she didn’t immediately comply. “It doesn’t matter. You’re getting off the train right now. I already told you what to do but you disobeyed me,” he told her in a normal voice. He then ordered her to stand up and told her she would be getting off the train at the next stop. “I paid to be on the train, asshole!” Nava told the officer as he laid his hands on her and pushed her off the train.

”I’m 18. He’s taking me off the train for having my foot on the fucking seat,” she told the person recording. The officer whose badge number is 5203, was then surrounded by concerned citizens who accused him of abusing his badge and being on a power trip.

”You’re a fucking scumbag,” said Selena Lechuga, a concerned citizen who came to Nara’s defense and calling into question the officer’s actions in forcing the teenager off the train. “You’re impeding my investigation. Back away,” he told Lechuga.

During the altercation, Nara attempted to flex her rights when the sergeant asked her for her ID. “I was on my way to the DMV. I have to meet my mother to get my ID. Cause I just turned 18. This is not fucking fair that you took me off the train because I had my foot there because I was comfortable like that. There is no law that tells me that I cannot sit that way because I PAID TO BE IN THERE!” Nara screamed. “It’s the rules of the train,” the officer stated.

“What’s the fucking rules of the train,” she asked. Both Nara and Lechuga asked the officer to provide the rules of the train for them to read. “I don’t have any fucking ID I was about to go to the DMV to get it…I should not be going to jail right now!” she exclaimed.

“I don’t have any form of ID. I don’t have any drugs. I don’t have anything that you can arrest me for! My foot was on a chair…what kind of fucking conflicts do you have that you need to take me off the train that I paid for,” she asked. “Nobody was trying to sit in the chair.”

Soon after, backup officers arrived. Instead of questioning the validity of the arrest, they promptly placed the two ladies in handcuffs and carted them off to jail.

According to CBS News LA, both women were cited for disorderly conduct on the train. However, that charge is now being called into question. One could argue the entire incident was started when the police officer escalated the conflict by demanding Nara forfeit her fare and leave the train. It was then and only then when tempers began to flare and choice words were used.

While the officer appeared to just be doing his job, how he handled it will likely be seen as professional by supporters of law enforcement, and abusive by freedom loving citizens. Perusing through YouTube one can find a myriad of videos where citizens claim to have been harassed while riding the Metro.

It’s unclear exactly how Nara was sitting which prompted the officer to remove her from the train, but de-escalation techniques could have been implemented. The entire incident may serve to illustrate just how easy it is to become a criminal in LA. Sitting on the seat incorrectly can now get you arrested.

"News" stories like this are a penny a dozen.

Thanks to cellphone video, yes. It's certainly a new dynamic in society where cops are nowadays perhaps 90% likely to be video recorded during any interaction with anyone. At least in the densely populated cities. And that's not even considering body cams.

It's all the more reason for cops to return to their "human" status of times long past, and more emphasis being placed on the humanity of the people they interact with, and less emphasis placed on "the law is the law" brute force type mentality.

I don't think there is disagreement on either side about the benefits of good relations between cops and the public, and the need for it. Good PR is valuable for both, and the video recording of cops now plays into that. And what a god-awful video of the simon-says shooting was a good example of how to ruin police PR.

Police videos are now a permanent part of the police PR dynamic.

Watch the rest of it. She starts throwing "F Bombs" and a crowd starts gathering. One guy with a serious lisp is always circling around behind the lone cop trying to talk him into letting her go,and she is struggling and trying to get away. While this is going on,another larger (ok,fat) Hispanic woman approaches the cop and SHE starts throwing F bombs and screaming "racism".

Meanwhile the cop hasn't harmed anyone, and is surrounded down in a subway. So he calls for backup, which he would have had to have done anyhow because he can only search a female suspect in an emergency, and because he now has TWO,and maybe three or more people interfering with a legal arrest, which is a crime in itself.

Yup. Now THAT is exactly what happened (without even knowing what transpired BEFORE the tantrum.

This little b*tch has the language and tude of someone who is used to doing whatever she wants WHEN she wants TO WHOM she wants. And as you noted, the mutants were positioning to move on the LEO.

I don't disagree with you that LEO ought to return to their traditional or "human" status of days of yore. The problem is...that horse is already out of the barn given the instantaneous demands for "MY RIGHTS ARE VIOLATED!!" by a litigious, whining, "I'm-a-Victim" indoctrinated society.

Police videos are now a permanent part of the police PR dynamic.

The good news: It provides proof of innocence in many cases.

The bad news: It's now exploited to a deleterious and abusive degree to slander LE.

And if there is indeed a law against having feet up on a seat, fine.
There is no “if.” There definitely is a law, a good reason for it and I furnished a link to it.
But here's my point: Good policing does not consist of going around busting everyone for every last infraction that's on the books.
Your “point”? You have no point.

Things were getting out of hand on the trains. Passengers were complaining about it. LAPD had to take cops from their normal duties and assign them to the trains to correct the situation. The police sergeant was only performing the duty he as assigned to do and no doubt had much rather been doing other things. There is no indication the sergeant would have busted the girl except for her stupid and grossly wrong reaction to his lawful order.

Again; You have no point….quit groveling.

There are many who will say that you have this all backwards....I am one of those.

While your parents and grandparents were growing up, they never would have even thought to disrespect the authority of law enforcement and show a total disregard for laws. But things have somehow changed now and we find ourselves living in a world where sayings such as “fuck the police” and “they’re all pigs” are an everyday common occurrence in the realm of our modern day society. Which brings me to a questions, have cops changed or have people changed?

I find the answer to this question to be a simple one....in that for reason, or reasons, unknown the current generation has lost all respect for any authority in general. This is easy to recognize because we see the “modern day” generation talking back to their parents. And they think rules don’t apply to them as they are entitled to everything. They believe they have the right to obey and disobey laws of their choosing. With that mindset, it is only natural for those misguided individuals to hate anyone who is enforcing laws and someone who “gets them in trouble” for their wrongful actions. But this needs to change and it needs to change....now.

Also, you might want to read the comments section and all the replies that say the cop should have been killed.

And your point is?

That the cop handled it right because public sentiment on public review of the video was very much against him?

Do you expect that public sentiment to change if the cop does not?

Remember the definition of insanity?

That's all the more reason why the cop should have handled it more diplomatically, even if the girl was in the wrong. Again this is a very minor infraction. About as minor as it gets.

The cop DID handle it right, you cretin. He approached her and told her to take her feet off the seat. She copped an attitude told him "no", and basically told him to go hump himself, and it went downhill from there.

And the point I was making about all the "kill the cop" posts were this was in LA,the cop was a white American, and "kill whitey/the pig" is typical of the low-life savages that live there and think the world owes them a living. They think the white world owes them a living because they have been taught since they were children that they owned everything and the white man took it from them, and the cop was white on top of being a cop.

In the entire history of the world, the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.

She said no.

He told her it was against the law to have her feet on the seat.

She told him "Fuck you! I paid for the ticket."

She was being arrested for misdemeanor stupid for not just taking her feet off the seat, and resisting arrest for fighting him.

He's not a kook. I just disagree strongly with how he saw the arrest.

There is obviously more to the story as there often is. Apparently, problems in general with the subway got so bad they sent in LAPD to help the sheriff's department do their job in dealing with mass transit problems on trains and buses. That alone tells us there is a lot of abuse, a lot of shitbirds making the subways miserable for the paying public.

Given those competing jurisdictional issues, we know something fairly bad was going on with these subways, hurting ridership overall or making the public very unhappy. And you need people to at least tolerate your subways if it is to be worth the huge investments and ongoing costs of any subway system. Not to mention the attempt to keep people off street vehicles, either private or buses.

Another video detail emerged that struck me. At the beginning of the video, clearly there were people being forced to stand while this girl was blocking a seat (or making people not want not want to ask her to move her feet because she had just dirtied the seat or they didn't want to confront her to demand that she move her feet). So if she was going to ignore and start fighting with a uniformed cop when he told her to put her feet down, what chance would any ordinary passenger have in getting her to move her feet so they could sit on a seat that they had paid for instead of allowing her to occupy two seats?

The idea that an LAPD sergeant hasn't completed more racial sensitivity training than most anyone could stomach is ridiculous. There was nothing wrong with his conduct though I would fault him for not immediately handcuffing her and frogmarching her off that subway car. By taking her off by dragging her, then trying to handcuff her, then backing off when surrounded by SJW passengers, he looked weak. And that is a bad example to set to predators. If a cop is going to act, he should act decisively. If he had cuffed her sooner, he would have had fewer problems, maybe the SJWs would have dispersed. But they were encouraged when he started to cuff her and then stopped until the backup arrived.

Of course, this hindsight stuff is chickenshit and we don't know all that the cop was seeing or what his concerns were with the SJW bystanders. Or maybe he just wanted the backup so he could also arrest the fat mouthy bitch as well.     : )

You guys know I can't resist the followup.

LAPD sergeant drags rider from train after she puts her feet on a seat

Raw video of a sergeant forcibly hauling a young woman off a Los Angeles subway car—because she kept her feet on a seat—has ignited a divisive debate about police overreach, with some decrying the incident as an abuse of power.

The Los Angeles Police Department sergeant grabbed Bethany Nava, 18, by her arm and pulled her off the train at Metro’s Westlake station Monday afternoon, because she kept her feet on a seat after being asked multiple times to remove them, according to the LAPD. She was then detained, cited for “engaging in boisterous or unruly behavior,” and released, according to police spokesperson Mike Lopez.

A bystander who spit on the sergeant was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of battery, Lopez said. The LAPD has launched a use of force investigation.

Those who said the police overreacted found an ally in Metro CEO Phil Washington on Wednesday morning.

“I am extremely disappointed... Our riders deserve better,” the CEO said in a statement. “I expect more from our law enforcement partners. This incident is still under investigation, but I want to be clear: this is not the kind of policing I want on our system.”

But as the day wore on, he backtracked. His original statement was stripped from the transit agency’s news blog and later replaced with a message that is much more sympathetic to police:
I want to be clear about my position: We want our Customer Code of Conduct rules enforced, but I’m disappointed at the way the situation escalated.

As a 24-year retired U.S. Army veteran, I understand and respect our police officers and their day-to-day duty in working to keep our system safe and secure. They encounter hundreds of conduct issues each day, and some of them are faced with very difficult situations. But my hope is that we work to de-escalate situations as much as possible.

Meanwhile, we remain committed to enhancing safety and the overall rider experience for all of our customers, and look to our patrons to be our partners in that.

The arrest was captured on video that has been shared more than 155,000 times on Facebook. The roughly 10-minute-long video starts aboard a Metro train as it pulls into the Westlake subway station. It shows the sergeant speaking to a young woman, who later identifies herself as Bethany Nava.

“You’re getting off the train right now,” the sergeant says. “I already told you what to do, and you disobeyed me. Come on. Get ready to walk.”

The sergeant then starts pulling the young woman’s arm as he repeats, “Come on, stand up.” As he pulls her off the train, Nava loops her elbow around a handhold bar, and says, “I paid to be on this train, asshole. Stop!”

Off the train and on the subway platform, a bystander, identified by police as 22-year-old Selina Lechuga, approaches Nava and the sergeant as they argue. After several minutes, more LAPD officers arrive and take Nava and Lechuga into custody.

Lopez says Nava was released, but Lechuga was booked into jail on $20,000 bail.

Lopez says that before the sergeant dragged Nava off the train, he had repeatedly asked her to remove her feet from a train seat. Metro’s code of conduct stipulates that riders are not to put their feet on seats.

Deputy Chief Bob Green, who oversees Metro operations for LAPD, told KPCC that the department only recently started enforcing the code of conduct. He defended the officer’s actions:
”All that gal had to do was comply and this would be a non-event, because that same thing goes on hundreds of times every day throughout our system with our officers trying to restore order, and people who ride that train are begging for order on the system,” Green said.

The incident poses a broader question about policing policy aboard Metro’s buses and trains: Does dragging a rider off a Metro train for putting her feet on a seat contribute to public safety aboard transit?

Eric Mann, the executive director of the activist civil rights group Labor Community Strategy Center, says the police presence does a disservice to regular riders.

“If you’re black or Latino on the train, it’s virtually promised that you’ll have miserable experience,” says Mann. “The onboard police say, ‘We’re going to treat you like you are a criminal. Eventually we’re going to find something that you did, because we have so many statutes on the books that we can get you on anything.’”

Mann’s Strategy Center is suing Metro and the LAPD for failing to disclose information about police presence aboard Metro vehicles.

It seems that Fat Spitting Mouthy Bitch got locked up on $20K bail. Good! LOL

I think the LAPD is going to teach her that spitting on a cop is a bad idea in California too.

They didn't demand a $20K bail if they weren't taking it very seriously.

The ambulance chasers and race hustlers undoubtedly all pounced on the victims in a rush.

Other articles I read indicated that a large majority of the subway riders were sick of people breaking the rules all the time and that is why LAPD was doing enforcement. There was a constantly rising number of complaints. That they pried a police sergeant out and had him on a subway car indicates LAPD are pretty serious about enforcing subway rules, whether anyone likes it or not. You notice the LAPD spokesman wasn't backing down a bit.

And they're washing sidewalks where homeless hang out with bleach on a major scale. It's a Hep A epidemic, mostly due to homeless people spreading it. And it is one of those nasty ass-to-mouth bugs, no way to describe it politely.

I'm still struck that this just happened to be an LAPD police sergeant. I think it's pretty rare to send those guys to patrol subway cars for rider infractions.

I'm thinking maybe this was a bit of a setup. They knew that as soon as they tried to take on subway rulebreakers, they'd get called racist and every name in the book while the usual Dem weasel pols stabbed them in the back, grandstanding every step of the way. So maybe they send out a cool-headed sergeant with lots of racial sensitivity training to draw the lightning of the racebaiters and the sleazy cowardly pols.

Or maybe it's just a happy accident that it worked out that way. I got more suspicious of this when I saw the police spokesguy not backing down one inch when the racebaiters and subway CEO and mealymouthed pols all tried to start backstabbing the cops.

If they can take down the first big case against a semi-sympathetic perp, the so-called "Tiny Girl" in this case, things get a lot easier for subway enforcement for the rank and file cops assigned to it. They've put the riders on notice.

I did enjoy that Fat Mouthy Bitch got locked in jail. Pretty rich.

I sniffed around for more info on the charges for spitting on a LAPD cop.

LeChuga (aka Fat Mouthy Bitch) was charged with "suspicion of battery on a police officer" and held on $20K bail.

This shyster webpage lays out the law and gives some examples. I'll quote a few statutes, just to make Gatlin happy.     : )

California's laws on battery on a peace officer are Penal Code 243(b) & 243(c)(2) PC. These laws define battery on a peace officer as willfully and unlawfully touching a peace officer or other protected official in a harmful or offensive manner, while the officer is engaged in the performance of his/her duties.1

You are only guilty of PC 243(b)/PC 243(c)(2) battery on a peace officer if, when you committed the battery, you knew or reasonably should have known that the "victim" was a peace officer or other protected person performing his/her duties.2
Penal Code 243(b) reads: "(b) When a battery is committed against the person of a peace officer [or other protected person] engaged in the performance of his or her duties, . . . and the person committing the offense knows or reasonably should know that the victim is a peace officer [or other protected person] engaged in the performance of his or her duties, . . . the battery is punishable by a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by both that fine and imprisonment."

Penal Code 243(c)(2) reads: "(2) When the battery specified in paragraph (1) [a battery where an injury is inflicted on the victim] is committed against a peace officer engaged in the performance of his or her duties, . . . and the person committing the offense knows or reasonably should know that the victim is a peace officer engaged in the performance of his or her duties, the battery is punishable by a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 for 16 months, or two or three years, or by both that fine and imprisonment."

In addition to peace / police officers, the protected persons covered by California's “battery on a peace officer” laws include:

  • Custodial officers,
  • Firefighters,
  • Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) or paramedics,
  • Process servers,
  • Employees of a probation department, and
  • Doctors and nurses providing emergency medical care.3
So it depends on whether they charge her with the misdemeanor version or the felony version. I hope they throw the book at her. It would be even better if she was an illegal and got deported for it. Fat Mouthy Bitch is 22 so she might be a Dreamer. But illegals wouldn't challenge a cop like that unless they were insane.

Anyway, I'd say it's likely she'll get the misdemeanor charge, being California and all. But that $20K bail says someone in the D.A.'s office is taking it pretty seriously or they are at least piling up the charges to force her guilty plea.

I wouldn't object if they fined her a few thousand in fines and about the same in court costs and then gave her 5,000 hours of community service cleaning up subway cars. The same outcome would be good for "Tiny Girl".

As for Tiny Girl, it seems she'll be subject to a $250 fine and around $300-$400 in court costs (CA is pretty outrageous on court costs). She'll be hoping that that's all she gets hit with.

As for Gay Pussyboi who took the video we saw here, he did apparently consent to (or sold his rights to) the video to local media outlets and then posted it on YouBoob as well. The irony is that his video provides some very strong supporting evidence at 00:07:25 to convict Fat Mouthy Bitch of spitting on a uniformed cop. It would be great fun if the prosecutor called him as a hostile witness to convict Fat Mouthy Bitch. LOL

You can't be vaccinated against Hep C,

Nor from the many forms of bacterial infections you can get from someone else's body fluids.

Bethany Nava (aka Tiny Girl) has a court date of 2/15/18.

AFAIK, LeChuga (aka Fat Mouthy Bitch) is still being held, pending $20K bail. Too bad.     : )

And I bet she is STILL screaming "Racism!" and will never be convinced she was in the wrong.

With any luck at all,she will get popped again soon for something similar, and get some active time for 2nd offense.

You go,gurl!

In the entire history of the world, the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.

I'd bet that after spitting on a sergeant, her cavity search at the jail was thorough and memorable.

I'd bet that after spitting on a sergeant...

WHAAA?!?

This little teeny-tiny helpless girl?? But...but...It's only teeny-tiny SPIT. Infected with teeny-tiny viruses, bacteria, and cooties.

Has she hired Gloria Allred or her daughter yet?

No, the busybody Fat Mouthy Bitch spat on the sergeant, not Tiny Girl. Tiny Girl got cited and immediately released while Fat Mouthy Bitch got held on $20K bail.

So for interfering in an arrest and spitting on a cop, Fat Mouthy Bitch is going to be punished a lot more harshly than Tiny Girl is.

You can see that statute I posted above. If they go for the felony charge, she could get a $10K fine and a few years in jail, even more if she transmitted an illness to the cop when spitting on him.
