Mexican Invasion Title: GOP Insiders Whine: Stephen Miller Drives a Hard Immigration Bargain "Even Republicans". You know, even the Republicans who want nothing more than full and total amnesty. The Gang of 8 gang. Even they. Even. In short, he's trying to get the best deal possible. While they want a fake deal that gives the left everything in exchange for some meaningless "protections" that will never be implemented and some more border funding. At least until a Fed judge decides that having a border is illegal because it prevents MS-13 members from enrolling at UCLA. It's America they really loathe. I'm sorry, was that too intense? And they're not coordinating with outside groups. Nope. And there's no gambling at Rick's. Let's rephrase that. "It's no secret that he's an obstacle to selling out the country." Will no one rid me of this meddlesome patriot. Except leak hit pieces to the media. Like this one. I like how all these quotes come from anonymous "Republicans." Yes, I put the quotation marks in the right place. Stephen is unfairly trying to sabotage this, said a former DHS official for President George W. Bush who is in contact with Republican staffers in the Senate. A former Bush official. Well now I'm convinced. Look what happened last time, said a second former Trump adviser, who worked with Miller and is in close contact with the White House. He almost single handily blew (the bill) up. They are having flashbacks. So are we. To 1986. The last time the amnesty gang got its wish. Most Republicans are uncomfortable with the Republican aides and their discomfort with the views of their base. That's how they got Trump. Poster Comment: This deal all hangs on Miller and Trump's relationship with him and Sessions. On the other side, Javanka and their Gang of 8 allies. You can bet they are investigating Miller back to the crib, trying to find anything to get him out of the White Hut. No, Daniel, you didn't. Miller does not represent Republicans. The people wanting amnesty and no wall do. The Republicans (no quotation marks) control Congress, the Supreme Court and the Executive Branch. They are not being stopped by "Republicans" - they are stopping themselves while a minoritarian group of Republicans led by Trump try to get the wall built and immigration brought under control. It is true that Republicans and Democrats have different reasons for wanting open borders. Republicans want it because business interests, who are their primary constituency, want the very cheap exploitable labor. They don't want to have to hire Americans at higher salaries and with legal protection. Democrats want more Democrat voters. The Republican Party wants working class votes - that's how they won the White House - but in general they are beholden to business interests, who don't want to PAY anything for working class support, so they try the straddle. In the days of Reagan, it worked. It doesn't work anymore. That's why Jeb! was defeated by the margin of error. Miller and Trump are minoritarian Republicans trying to force their party into line. I expect that Trump will win this one and get the Wall funding.
