Victor Francisco Michel-Lara, 32, of Cedar City, Utah was arrested Sunday and faces first-degree felony charges of rape of a child, according to his arrest report. He was also placed on an immigration detainer. The girl told investigators that Michel-Lara molested her “many times” in the last six months and had raped her thousands of times, the St. George Daily Spectrum reported. He admitted to inappropriately touching the girl, but said it happened accidentally when he rubbed lotion on her, the newspaper said. He also allegedly said the rape accidentally happened when the two were “rough housing.” "He stated that she moves around a lot with the lotion making his fingers slippery (and) they accidentally slipped into her vagina," an investigator wrote in a police report, the newspaper reported. Police believe Michel-Lara returned to the U.S. after being deported to Mexico on an unrelated charge, the Spectrum said. He is being held on $200,000 bail at the Iron County Jail. One reason I hate the media and the police. The police are clearly lying and the media are complicit with those lies because sensationalism sells advertising. I have no doubt he raped that child multiple times,and even ONE time is enough to justify life in prison or execution,but THOUSANDS of times? Give me a freaking break! And I don't want to hear any crap about how "the girl said it was thousands of times". To a 7 year old,"thousands" may mean more than her fingers. Has there ever been any period in history when the freaking media just reported the news without putting a personal spin on it? Look how they are reporting on the Chancellorsville dust up right now. It was the white people on the right who were violent,and the white,brown,and black left were "peaceful demonstrators for justice that had their bottles of frozen water attacked by the heads of the aggressive hate-mongering crackas ob de right". ATTENTION UNICORN RIDERS! Be very,VERY careful about forcing people to pick sides in this fascist family fight. If you continue to make it about race you might not like how it ends. Who would have EVER thought that there would ever be ANY group of shitheads so vile they could make the freaking Nazi's look like sympathetic characters by comparison? In the entire history of the world,the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.
I wondered the same, if her use of "thousands" from a 7yo would hurt her credibility as a witness. Few 7yo's grasp the concept of large numbers and many parents know how they exaggerate. OTOH, maybe they'll just take that into account. That whole defense of my-slippery-fingers-somehow-fell-into-her-7yo-vagina is so dumb that your average Utah jury will want to hang him anyway. No. The media has always been awful in various ways. Quite often they were very biased mouthpieces for wealthy land/cattle/railroad barons or for local or regional industries. It's as true today as ever. There was no golden age of unbiased reporting, I'm afraid. It's one reason we so badly need freedom of speech for the press. You can't make them report the truth but you can always hope that someone will report the truth and it will enlarge their circulation and influence. IOW, marketplace of ideas stuff.
*I* want to hang him,and I don't live in Utah. ANYONE that rapes and/or murders a child and there is no possible doubt about their guilt should be executed with a week of being convicted. BTW,I am talking about ACTUAL rapes and murders,not philosophical ones where "equivalence" plays a role. You pretty much have to add that condition in the 21st Century,where words tend to mean anything some left-wing shit-for-brains think they mean. In the entire history of the world,the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.
