However, a simple question led to one woman becoming a punchline after she asked to reschedule the eclipse so her son could watch it. The mistake occurred on a Facebook event page for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, which will host a party for the solar eclipse on Aug. 21. Unsafe solar eclipse glasses with fake safety labels are 'flooding' the market The astronomical society says in a safety warning that looking for the International Organization of Standardization logo won't suffice for a safety check as some groups are printing the safety sign-off on unsafe glasses. As if this wasn't enough, the AAS alleges that some dastardly sellers are displaying fake test results on their websites to back up the fake ISO logo. The woman -- whose name is not being shared here -- pointed out that children in the Dallas school district are scheduled to start school that day and wouldn't be able to attend. So she innocently asked if the party could be moved to a day where kids could attend. "Most kids go back to school that day. Can it be done on the weekend?" the woman wrote. Obviously, that's not something that can be controlled by the museum and almost immediately led to fellow Facebook users mocking the mom's post.
