*Note: Since this post was published, some material information has hit in the form of a massive, meaningful data-dump from Wikileaks. I have read through some of it, and it is unquestionably damaging to Hillary Clinton. When I originally wrote the post below, I was working under the assumption that this would be the big political news story over the weekend, and all anyone would be talking about for at least the next two days and into the debate. With the Wikileaks dump we have another huge story, and it will undoubtably lessen the negative impact from the Trump audio. Trump got very lucky. I’ll have more over the weekend once I’ve had some time to read through more of the Wikileaks information and gather my thoughts. Below is the original Trump post, published before I became aware of the Wikileaks release. The just released audio of Trump’s comments from 2005 is devastating for his Presidential chances. This is not to say I think the election’s over, but I see this as the most damaging thing to emerge against him since he started his primary run last year. It can’t be brushed off as political rhetoric to win the Republican primary, and some of the things he said will be deeply disturbing to many Americans. While everyone thought the “October surprise” would be damaging to Clinton, the exact opposite seems to have happened. Unless someone has something equally devastating on the Clintons and is prepared to release it (not out of the question), Trump is in trouble. Sunday’s debate now becomes do or die for him. Trump’s response was pretty good, but unless he has audio of Bill on the golf course, probably not good enough. “This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Well, let's see. He said it, in private, to another guy 11 years ago in what he called "locker room banter" way before he had any aspirations to run for public office. The audio is released just 4 weeks before the Presidential election as an obvious political ploy. The press is covering it like the next Watergate while ignoring all of Hillary's scandals. Trump apologized for the private-made-public remark.
Do you find the media coverage at all curious that the other guy is just another guy? His name is Billy Bush. That would be the son of G.H.W. Bush's brother Johnathan, and the cousin of G.W. Bush. The official story is that a producer remembered the conversation and just recently dug up the tape. It broke in the Washington Post.
After 11 years, he remembers just 4 weeks before the election. Wouldn't you think his memory would have been jogged back in the August debate when Megyn Kelly challenged Trump on some of the rhetoric he’s used towards women?
I have an unsupported suspicion that the Bush family leaked this strategically. Had the station producer been the source, I doubt it would have first appeared in WAPO. I would like to see more of the video to see if Billy Bush instigated the discussion on a hot mic. My curiosity is piqued at how many MSM sources did not mention that the other guy was Papi's nephew and W's first cousin.

You can do anything... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything." It also included Trump saying he once tried and failed to have sex with Nancy O'Dell, who was Bush's co-host at the time. After reviewing the tape, "we were debating what to do" with it, an NBC source explained. By Friday morning, Silverstein had decided to broadcast it, and a script had been written. The story was not slated to air on Friday night's edition of the show, however. That means the earliest it would have aired is Monday night -- after Sunday's presidential debate. Another NBC source confirmed that "Access" was working on a story, and that NBC News knew about it, but said that as of Friday morning the story "wasn't quite finalized." That's when Silverstein was notified that David Fahrenthold of The Washington Post had come into possession of a copy. Fahrenthold, who has been reporting for months on Trump's charitable donations and the Trump Foundation, was contacted around 11 a.m. on Friday by a source who told him about the footage, according to a Post story about how he got this scoop. Fahrenthold asked NBC for comment about the tape around noon Eastern time. The producers at "Access," which is based in California, were blindsided by Fahrenthold's call. According to the Post, Farenthold knows the identity of the person who leaked the video to him, but will not disclose it. On Friday, mere hours after The Washington Post published damning audio tape of Donald Trump having a coarse conversation with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in 2005, the show’s current host Natalie Morales opened the evening’s episode with a segment devoted to the tape.
An NBC source told DailyMail.com that Access Hollywood staff uncovered the controversial footage as part of a story the program commissioned for next week, but they were beaten to the punch after someone leaked it.
