I am coming back atcha … get ready for it because both barrels are loaded with “double aught” buckshot shells full of information. I had some time to spend … so as the Seeker of Truth, I started researching.

The first two links in the article and your posts that I clicked on were broken and provided no information … nice work there, Sport. I finally found a working link and it used information from a journalist named Gary Webb that he presented in a three-part series called Dark Alliance, published in August 1996 by the San Jose Mercury News.

So now the Seeker of Truth was finally onto something, a start. I set out to pursue information about Gary Webb and the Dark Alliance. In the first search hit, I quickly learned that Jeff Leen, The Washington Post’s assistant managing editor for investigations had already done my homework for me with astonishing and damning results. Jeff starts off with:

An extraordinary claim requires extraordinary proof. That old dictum ought to hang on the walls of every journalism school in America. It is the salient lesson of the Gary Webb affair. It might have saved his journalism career …
As I continued to read, I learned that Webb had made an extraordinary claim that the CIA was responsible for the crack cocaine epidemic in America, but what he lacked was the extraordinary proof. The NY Times, WAPO and the LA TIMES challenged the story for “its overblown claims and undernourished reporting.” The San Jose Mercury News then did an internal review of Webb’s “facts” and methods to conclude that the story by Webb “did not meet the newspaper’s standards.”

I could continue on, but then why should I. I have spent enough time calling to your attention yet another agenda driven journalist and I now repeat my challenge for you to show me irrefutable evidence of your charges, but stop using people like Geraldo Rivera and Gary Webb again as your “expert witnesses.”

It will be most educational for you to take time and read the damning expose on Webb by clicking here.

While I continually try to tell you two narrow-minded idiots to stop buying into Yellow Journalism and do some simple fact-checking before you form an opinion or make a snap judgment, I know in my “heart of hearts” that you never will let truth become the dominate reality factor in your lives, because you cannot divorce yourself from your evil libertarian ideology.

It is in my effort to further assist you to walk the narrow path of righteousness, that I now take liberty to repost the following information for your further enlightenment:

It is unfortunate that the extended use of the Agenda-Setting Theory (AST) -- which I refer to as Yellow Journalism (YJ) -- has become too prevalent in the communications media. Many journalists have decided their job is to set the agenda instead of using the old fashion time-proven journalistic method of reporting “who, what, where, when, why and sometimes how.” This YJ is fast become the norm and we need look no further than the recent University of Virginia (UV) gang rape story for evidence of this. The YJ articles never connect all the dots to accurately report the facts.

I am criticized for sometime posting information from Huffington Post (HP) on LF. There is openly stated prejudice against HP because of their overtly liberal commentary and I understand this. I have responded to the chastisement for occasionally using HP as a source by stating: “Facts are facts, wherever you can find them.” The limited-learning individuals who so quickly condemn HP fail to realize that HP was among the first, and probably the very first, of the alternatives news aggregators to expose and tear into those originating and propagating the concocted UV gang rape story. I find it happing more often than not that journalists are taking advantage of the weak-minded but seemingly educated readers who apparently do not wish to expend the energy or have no stamina to face a personal responsibility to get the facts … before they quickly rush to judgments or make snap decisions and post those on LF based solely on biased information and sometimes outright lies.

When I read these YJ articles for understanding and critical analysis, I always approach from the “other side” expecting to discover discrepancies … as I feel Packrat has so complementary done is his two posts. For my efforts, I was recently tagged with “Searcher of Truth” as a moniker. I accept the “left-handed compliment” and now wear the new title proudly as I continue to find this aggressive agenda setting is rapidly becoming the “modus operandi” for young journalists. I place blame on these authors of YJ for doing this. I place more blame on the readers who do not question the narrative piece containing partial data and one-sided information reported only from those who have a vested personal interest in the story and possible financial reward from an obviously impending law suit.

How seemingly educated folks can so quickly go after the cheese in these JY article mousetraps the authors applying the AST set for them with partial-facts and sometimes fabricated information is quite puzzling. I fail to understand their reasoning, but I always find they’ll scream louder that it’s the “moral (agenda) of the story” and not the validity of the story itself that deserves utmost attention. That there are a few bad cops, regardless whether there is truth or not in the current story they are reading, is enough justification for them to tear into the keyboard and start their condemnation process. It is so cult-nature predictable. Maybe there is hope that some day these individual will take on skepticism and simply stop placing full belief in YJ stories and thereby leave room for all YJ articles to become happenings with the “boy who cried wolf” results.

You may now resume your snickering at the Seeker of Truth while you continue to turn your spineless backs on the reality that just “bitch slapped the Hell outta you.”

I always had my suspicions about Gatlin - and as he posts more and more of these so-called investigative screeds, it is becoming increasingly clear that he is a disinformation agent of some sort, being used by the government in some way, possibly in a paid capacity. It's more likely that he is doing this out of some delusional sense of patriotism or perhaps part of his retirement agreement.

Look at his posting history for example - anytime a topic like this is broached, he jumps all over it like white on rice - explodes with indignation, then a few hours later, he has a professional looking post in which he claims to have debunked everything that was posted in the original thread.

Notice that he focuses solely on one aspect (Gary Webb). He completely ignores the numerous links and documented facts that were posted in the original article - seems that the "Truth Seeker" was either too lazy or too afraid to continue his quest for "truth".

Gatlin has been either unwilling or unable to debunk the premise of the original article - that is: The CIA has been (and still is) importing drugs for decades - that fact is unassailable. Gatlin would have you believe otherwise. He claims that Gary Webb was lying - anyone who has diligently researched that particular sordid episode knows beyond a doubt that Webb's sources were unimpeachable. His newspaper took a lot of risks running his "Dark Alliance" series.

Of course one only has to look at Gatlin's reactions when anything that exposes the criminal and corrupt actions of fed.gov is posted and it becomes more and more obvious that he is a shill.

Only someone either naive beyond belief or who is working for some agency to quash the truth would continually assert that the United States government is not guilty of numerous horrific crimes against its own citizens.

I don't believe Gatlin is naive.

MK-ULTRA, Project Mockingbird, The USS Liberty, the crimes of Mena, the Tuskegee experiment - these and any other DOCUMENTED atrocities will be vehemently denied to have happened by the professional shill.

Gatlin certainly exhibits most of the traits that a disinformation specialist would have and no doubt is being used by someone in government to "catapult the propaganda".

Here are just a few of those traits that Gatlin exhibits:

Avoidance. They never actually discuss issues head-on or provide constructive input, generally avoiding citation of references or credentials. Rather, they merely imply this, that, and the other. Virtually everything about their presentation implies their authority and expert knowledge in the matter without any further justification for credibility.

Selectivity. They tend to pick and choose opponents carefully, either applying the hit-and-run approach against mere commentators supportive of opponents, or focusing heavier attacks on key opponents who are known to directly address issues. Should a commentator become argumentative with any success, the focus will shift to include the commentator as well.

Teamwork. They tend to operate in self-congratulatory and complementary packs or teams. Of course, this can happen naturally in any public forum, but there will likely be an ongoing pattern of frequent exchanges of this sort where professionals are involved. Sometimes one of the players will infiltrate the opponent camp to become a source for straw man or other tactics designed to dilute opponent presentation strength.

Anti-conspiratorial. They almost always have disdain for 'conspiracy theorists' and, usually, for those who in any way believe JFK was not killed by LHO. Ask yourself why, if they hold such disdain for conspiracy theorists, do they focus on defending a single topic discussed in a News Group (NG) focusing on conspiracies?

One might think they would either be trying to make fools of everyone on every topic, or simply ignore the group they hold in such disdain.Or, one might more rightly conclude they have an ulterior motive for their actions in going out of their way to focus as they do.

Artificial Emotions. An odd kind of 'artificial' emotionalism and an unusually thick skin -- an ability to persevere and persist even in the face of overwhelming criticism and unacceptance. This likely stems from intelligence community training that, no matter how condemning the evidence, deny everything, and never become emotionally involved or reactive. The net result for a disinfo artist is that emotions can seem artificial.

Most people, if responding in anger, for instance, will express their animosity throughout their rebuttal. But disinfo types usually have trouble maintaining the 'image' and are hot and cold with respect to pretended emotions and their usually more calm or unemotional communications style.

It's just a job, and they often seem unable to 'act their role in character' as well in a communications medium as they might be able in a real face-to-face conversation/confrontation. You might have outright rage and indignation one moment, ho-hum the next, and more anger later -- an emotional yo-yo.

ANY NG posting by a targeted proponent for truth can result in an IMMEDIATE response. The government and other empowered players can afford to pay people to sit there and watch for an opportunity to do some damage. SINCE DISINFO IN A NG ONLY WORKS IF THE READER SEES IT - FAST RESPONSE IS CALLED FOR, or the visitor may be swayed towards truth.

These are just a few examples, but I'm sure you get the drift.

My gut feeling is that the poster who goes by the moniker "Gatlin" is a government propagandist.

It will be most educational for you to take time and read the damning expose on Webb by clicking here.

How the CIA Watched Over the Destruction of Gary Webb

...documents released by the CIA provide fresh context to the “Dark Alliance” saga — information that paints an ugly portrait of the mainstream media at the time.

On September 18, (2014)the agency released a trove of documents spanning three decades of secret government operations. Culled from the agency’s in-house journal, Studies in Intelligence, the materials include a previously unreleased six-page article titled “Managing a Nightmare: CIA Public Affairs and the Drug Conspiracy Story.”

Looking back on the weeks immediately following the publication of “Dark Alliance,” the document offers a unique window into the CIA’s internal reaction to what it called “a genuine public relations crisis” while revealing just how little the agency ultimately had to do to swiftly extinguish the public outcry.

Thanks in part to what author Nicholas Dujmovic, a CIA Directorate of Intelligence staffer at the time of publication, describes as “a ground base of already productive relations with journalists,” the CIA’s Public Affairs officers watched with relief as the largest newspapers in the country rescued the agency from disaster, and, in the process, destroyed the reputation of an aggressive, award-winning reporter.

“These days, Webb is being cast in a more sympathetic light. He’s portrayed heroically in a major motion picture set to premiere nationwide next month.”

It appears the Devereaux made his review that Webb was “portrayed heroically” by viewing a short 2:30 clip of an advance trailer from the movie that was not going to be released before another month.

There is no conspiracy nonsense written ...

You set my inquisitive mind in motion with your intriguing post. Consequently, I immediately performed a Google search. The first search hit showed this as the lead-in:

BorderGate: The story the government doesn't want you to read ...

I immediately thought: Oh, shit … with a lead-in like that, I am looking at just another damned abominable conspiracy theory book some author is bilking the innocent public of their dollars and line her purse with the hard-earned and ill-spent money taken from fools.

With that in mind and with my curiosity aroused, I continued my Google search because I love to debunk or read where conspiracy theories have been debunked … equally important, also learn once again that conspiracy theories are just what they are labeled to be: “Theories.”

After further review and seeing evidence that I was about to become inundated with more of the same CT freaky crap, I stopped my search and put my inquiring mind in the neutral gear, but not before I took time to read the promotional spam email the advertising department for the sale of the book Bordergate is flooding out over the internet. I present a link to that email for the edification of you CT freaks who have not heard of the book and may have an interest.

Bordergate book sales promotional email.
After reading that email preview, did the statement that “Darlene had high-level information from a reliable informant” set off alarm bells in your mind?

It should, since “unnamed source” is code for “bullshit.”

Why do people waste hard=earned money buying these "ass-wipe" conspiracy theory books?

Neve mind answering … it’s a rhetorical question.

I have a hard time deciding if the biggest KOOK is Deckard, Buckeroo, or tpaine. It’s the Paultard thing they have, each tries to “out best” the other with their libertarian fanaticisms. Ole Pinguinite has joined in as of late, but I kinda like him. He is the most courteous and sincere of the groupies and makes the best sense in his posts. I notice that “Little Sir Echo” (although not a libertarian, but a camp follower in awe with the “anarchy mafia”) got into a “pisser” the other day with Buckeroo when Bucky latched into him for no reason whatsoever … he was just being bucky, exceedingly obnoxious as always. That was the wrong thing for Bucky to do, since they have no friends. Oh, need I mention their little baby problem child, hondo … I guess I probably should. He left the sand box recently to make a guest appearance on a thread and again show his stupidity with yet another la la world non-relevant cartoon. I don’t know what it was about, I just look and see there is a picture and that he is the poster before I hit the mental “ignore” switch and scan on down the thread. Have I neglected to mention anyone? If so, my since apologies to the unprivileged soul(s).

Keep outing the Paultards as the KOOKS they are. Great job!

We are going to raise some cash via a LF fundraiser wherin we are buying you a little skirt and some POM/POMs since you are sarg's best cheerleader. A question came up in the staff meeting that you like ruby red lipstick. Is this true?

That's the BEST you can muster? What a loser!

Go back to sleep and nurse the terrible hangover you must have after "another" Saturday night.

Leave the room while the adults are holding a discussion.

Depends on whether the cause, and the owner, are worthy.

In gatlin and goldies case, both were found wanting, and poor little gatlin still feels outed.

The only thing gatlin proved is that he bought off Goldie about his claim to be a major.

Odds are he's a minor bit player, a clown.

Why do people waste hard=earned money buying these "ass-wipe" conspiracy theory books?

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!

On January 17, 2007, the media at large reported that U.S. Attorney Carol C. Lam, the top federal prosecutor in San Diego, CA, was removed from her job. The Justice Department said Tuesday that, “Ms. Lam’s dismissal had nothing to do with the prosecution of Mr. Randy (Duke) Cunningham, but was based on her overall record in prosecuting firearms violations and crimes along the California border with Mexico.”

At the very same time that U. S. Attorney Lam was responsible for the Cunningham case, she was also responsible for the landmark case Fitzgerald – Nunn Vs. Department of Homeland Security. A year before this civil trial began, Lam’s Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) Timothy Stetler had been made aware of the ostensible corruption that U.S. Customs Special Agents Darlene Fitzgerald and Sandy Nunn had uncovered and attempted to expose. Darlene’s investigation uncovered tons of narcotics and contraband being facilitated into the U.S. via railroad tanker cars with the apparent approval of Customs managers.

AUSA Timothy Stetler listened to the testimony of Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos in her pre-trial deposition. She corroborated Darlene’s suspicions when she stated that the managers at Customs were “torpedoing our rail operation” and criminal cases. She further stated, “At the very least these managers were committing Obstruction of Justice.” AUSA Stetler told Gastone Bebi, attorney for Fitzgerald and Nunn, that he was concerned that it was in fact corruption and that he felt he had a duty to report it. He should have reported this to his boss, U.S. Attorney Lam.

There was no investigation into the well-documented, well-witnessed allegations of Sandy and Darlene. At the trial, Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos took the stand and made history that day by being the first sitting Judge ever to testify against the U.S. Government. A complete transcript of her historic testimony may be read at . The essential fact of her testimony was that she witnessed high-level Customs managers shut down Operation Rite Rail. In that operation Darlene had already seized 8000 pounds of marijuana and 34 kilos of uncut cocaine in just one pressurized railroad tanker car. She had secondaried (placed on hold pending inspection) five more of these cars. These five cars importing from Mexico were improperly manifested as empty yet contained 25 to 40 tons of unknown contraband. They had been sent from the same front company in Mexico where the previous seized- tanker car was from. Darlene had high-level information from a reliable informant as to the contents of these five cars – yet Darlene was ordered off the case and told to shut down her operation.

At the trial, Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAIC) Gary Pinkava took the stand for Customs (See Federal Transcript of Pinkava’s testimony at ). During the course of his testimony, he admitted that he would not allow Darlene and her Supervisor Robert Mattivi pressure test, at no charge to the government, these highly suspect tanker cars. This would have been the largest seizure on record for any agency (25 to 40 tons) and it was under the command and control of ASAIC Pinkava. Subsequently, as testified to by numerous witnesses (see other testimony at the BorderGate web site); these tanker cars were released into the commerce of the U.S. uninspected by anyone.

As shocking as this testimony was, there was also evidence of witness tampering during the course of the trial. The Honorable Roger T. Benitez, United States District Judge, while presiding over this case, responded to the efforts by U.S. Customs Attorneys who threatened U.S. Customs employees with the loss of their jobs if they dared to answer subpoenas and testify against Customs managers. Judge Benitez stated, “Boy, there’s something about this that doesn’t pass the smell test!” (see ). All these crimes remain uninvestigated.

What Darlene and Sandy exposed at this trial is the horrendous National Security Terrorist Threat that these tanker cars pose to our nation. Timothy McVey blew up the Federal Murrah Building in Oklahoma City with about one ton of ammonium nitrate in an unsealed-cargo truck. This cowardly attack killed scores of people and resulted in at least fifteen damaged buildings being torn down. A terrorist can put forty times this amount of ammonium nitrate in a railroad tanker car and pressurize it. This would result in the world’s largest pipe bomb. This is almost too frightful to image, yet America has enemies who relish such a possibility. Darlene has repeatedly said that the national security threat she has exposed is apolitical because exploding tanker cars do not just kill Republicans, Democrats or Independents, they kill everyone. This too was made known to the San Diego U.S. Attorney’s Office, which was headed by U.S. Attorney Lam.

During the course of this trial sufficient evidence to warrant a Grand Jury investigation into the following was absolutely exposed: Facilitation of the Importation of 25 to 40 tons of contraband into the U.S., Witness Tampering, Perjury, Misprision of Felony, and possible Subornation of Perjury. This evidence was sufficient to warrant the initiation of a Grand Jury Investigation – yet there was none. The most shocking federal transcripts of this testimony can be found at . U. S. Attorney Lam knew, or should have known, about this ostensible corruption committed by the Customs managers before the trial, and later exposed at the trial. Yet to date, nothing has been done to investigate any of this.

What is even more telling in this case is the fact that Senator Dianne Feinstein has publicly defended U.S. Attorney Lam. This is most interesting when you consider that well before this case (Fitzgerald – Nunn Vs. Department of Homeland Security) was ever filed in federal court, 24 Customs employees signed a letter begging Senator Feinstein to investigate their allegations of corruption. Two weeks after Senator Feinstein’s Office received this letter (sent certified mail & fax) Senator Feinstein was seen by several of these Customs employees out on one of the U.S. Customs Yacht “rubbing elbows” with one of the very managers the brave 24 wanted Feinstein to investigate. It was later learned by a reporter who covered this story, that Senator Feinstein’s husband may have had a financial interest in the very companies over whose rails this contraband was rolling. Senator Feinstein initiated no investigation into the 24 Customs employees’ allegations. Customs turned up the retaliation heat on the agents involved in this rail project. Details of this horrendous retaliation are chronicled in the book “BorderGate.”

It is important to note that there have been no other rail tanker car seizures since Darlene’s seizure in 1998. Have the drug smugglers and terrorists simply quit trying to enter the U.S. or have they simply been operating freely under the un-watchful and accommodating eyes of U.S. Attorney Lam and Senator Feinstein.

The real victims here are Darlene, Sandy, and all other brave Whistleblowers who have come forward with important information that exposes threats to our National Security. There is no real protection for Federal Whistleblowers. There seems to be a pattern at the U.S. Attorneys Office and the Department of Homeland Security of acting against employees for doing their job instead of prosecuting corruption. Another clear example of this is the two Border Patrol Agents who now face prison because they defended themselves in a firefight against a known drug smuggler. Again, it was a U.S. Attorney’s Office who appeared to take the side of the drug smuggler and went after the Border Patrol Agents. Yet there has been no investigation into the motivation of the AUSA prosecuting this case against the Border Patrol Agents. This raises the question – Who is overseeing those who are responsible for prosecutorial oversight?

U.S. Attorney Lam at worst condoned and at best ignored the retaliation by U.S. Customs managers against Whistleblowers Fitzgerald and Nunn. Ironically, now she complains when she is the object of “possible” retaliation for her role in exposing the Cunningham scandal. What goes around comes around.

I'd say that Darlene's testimony under oath is no conspiracy but the fact that our newspapers refuse to cover it is definitely a conspiracy. The truth is if our local newspapers uttered so much as any truth in this, the CIA would do a hit job on the editor for revealing such a story. If hit jobs can be done to journalists like Gary Webb (two gun shots to the head ruled out as "suicide" (my ass it is)), than no journalist (or editor) is safe to publish facts about where the drugs are coming in from. Wake up, Gatlin. You're just as much a pawn in this nightmare as the canaries and drug mules are for the kingpin operatives.

Hypocritical asswipe.

Did you conveniently forget the spam job you and Roscoe did posting a shitload of childish cartoons on the "Libertarians are Awesome" thread?

Before you open that fetid gaping maw of yours and try to claim the cartoons you posted were 'relevant" - don't even start that shit.

The spam you and the other short bus-riding canary Roscoe posted didn't contain a single shred of truth about libertarians.

Shut your whining mouth. You can’t stop bitching.

There is a big difference in what professional adult educators do and a what a snotty-nosed kid playing in a sandbox does.

Of course I am not going to say the cartoons were relevant.

I am going to inform you the cartoons that Roscoe and I posted met the highest educational standards needed to the critically enlighten Paultard retards. However, with the limited brain power you libertarians possess, we did fall short of our goal.

You can’t stop finding something you need to continually bitch about.

It’s time for you to start showing more respect to your learned elders … do so now.

I have difficulty understanding why your local newspapers would not will not “utter so much as any truth in this” since what Darlene testified to under oath in her sworn statement on September 18, 2001, is openly published in its entirity on the internet by narconews.com. Click here to read the affidavit by Darlene Fitzgerald-Catalan.

Why do you believe the CIA would do a hit job on your editor for revealing such a story when the complete story with all details is published all over the internet including the Whistlerblower magazine? Please tell me the name of your newspaper that refused to cover the story and with whom did the newspaper allegedly conspire for what reason.
