Title: Judge tosses Libertarian Frank Tamburri from U.S. Senate ballot

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge John Hannah rejected arguments that Libertarians are subjected to unfair requirements for signatures on their nomination papers, and determined the naturopathic doctor lacked the required 3,034 signatures.

However, Tamburri is filing an appeal with the Arizona Supreme Court. If the lower-court ruling holds, there will be a primary only on the Republican ballot. Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick is running unchallenged.

If he's successful, Tamburri would be the sole Libertarian on his party's primary ballot, which means he would be on November ballot as the Libertarian standard-bearer.

Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham filed the complaint against Tamburri. Republicans suspected Tamburri was recruited by the Democrats to run, figuring he could pull votes away from the GOP nominee in what is expected to be a tough general-election race.

But Tamburri has maintained he is a genuine Libertarian, not a recent recruit to the party ranks. His defense in the petition challenge revolved around what he maintained were unfair signature requirements for minor parties. But Hannah cited a Georgia case in which the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a signature requirement of 5 percent of registered voters in a given party. In Arizona, the requirement is one-quarter of 1 percent of voters — and that can include independents.

Remainder of the story is here.

Additional Comment:

The term “Libertarian” has long been synonymous with “Asshole” in my estimation, and I think it’s safe to say that Jacobin magazine editor Connor Kilpatrick probably feels the same way.

Today is the centenary anniversary of the birth of Libertarian icon, economist Milton Friedlman, so what better day for the publication of the most viciously hilarious takedpown of the Libertarian position that I think I’ve ever read?

Excerpted from the much longer “It’s Hip! It’s Cool! It’s Libertarianism!” which was cross-posted today at both Naked Capitalism and The Exiled:

Libertarianism isn’t some cutting-edge political philosophy that somehow transcends the traditional “left to right” spectrum. It’s a radical, hard-right economic doctrine promoted by wealthy people who always end up backing Republican candidates, no matter how often they talk about civil liberties, ending the wars and legalizing pot. Funny how that works.

It’s the “third way” for a society in which turning against capitalism or even taking your foot off the pedal is not an option. Thanks to our shitty constitution and the most violent labor history in the West, we never even got a social-democratic party like the rest of the developed world.

So what do we get? The libertarian line: “No, no: the problem isn’t that we’re too capitalist. It’s that we’re not capitalist enough!”

Genius.

At a time in which our society has never been more interdependent in every possible way, libertarians think they’re John fucking Wayne looking out over his ranch with an Apache scalp in his belt, or John fucking Galt doing…whatever it is he does. (Collect vintage desk toys from the Sharper Image?)

Their whole ideology is like a big game of Dungeons & Dragons. It’s all make-believe, except for the chain-mail–they brought that from home. Elves, dwarves and fair maidens for capital. Even with the supposedly “good ones”—anti-war libertarians—we’re still talking about people who think Medicare’s going to lead to Stalinism.

So my advice is to call them out.

Ask them what their beef really is with the welfare state. First, they’ll talk about the deficit and say we just can’t afford entitlement programs. Well, that’s obviously a joke, so move on. Then they’ll say that it gives the government tyrannical power. Okay. Let me know when the Danes open a Guantánamo Bay in Greenland.

Here’s the real reason libertarians hate the idea. The welfare state is a check against servility towards the rich. A strong welfare state would give us the power to say Fuck You to our bosses—this is the power to say “I’m gonna work odd jobs for twenty hours a week while I work on my driftwood sculptures and play keyboards in my a chillwave band. And I’ll still be able to go to the doctor and make rent.”

Sounds like freedom to me.

Standing ovation!

Read more of Connor Kilpatrick’s “It’s Hip! It’s Cool! It’s Libertarianism!” at either The Exiled or at Naked Capitalism. Trust me it’s a fantastic, totally worthwhile read.

Me too.

I've long advocated a taxation scheme like the fair tax w/rebate; --- coupled with a bare bones Medicare type system for everyone. ----

This would be.a substitute for ALL OTHER WELFARE SCHEMES, FED OR STATE...

We're a rich country, and could afford it if the income tax was repealed, and all levels of govt were reduced to a minimum.

I'd bet that this would spark a renaissance of capitalism unlike any ever known.

Which is why it'll never happen. -- Socialistic statists like gatlin hate unfettered capitalism.

Face it guys, we are rapidly approaching the point where we simply do not need the grunt labor of millions of people.

In order for the rest of us capitalists to work and live lives in freedom, it will be necessary to find something for the unemployable to do. A fair tax type scheme would be the answer..

Keep hating the rich

Keep worshiping the Satanic elite, Godless lover of evil.

These 13 Families Rule the World: The Shadow Forces Behind the NWO

Somewhere near the very top of the pyramid, an extremely elitist organisation known as the Council of the 13 families orchestrates all of the major world events. As the name suggests, the Council consists of the top 13 most influential families on Earth.

An increasingly number of people is becoming aware that 99% of the Earth's population is controlled by an "elite" 1%, but the Council of the 13 families consists of less than 1% of the 1% "elite" and nobody on Earth can apply for membership.

In their opinion, they are entitled to rule over the rest of us because they are the direct descendants of the ancient gods and consider themselves royal. These families are:

  1. Rothschild (Bauer or Bower)
  2. Bruce
  3. Cavendish (Kennedy)
  4. De Medici
  5. Hanover
  6. Hapsburg
  7. Krupp
  8. Plantagenet
  9. Rockefeller
  10. Romanov
  11. Sinclair (St. Clair)
  12. Warburg (del Banco)
  13. Windsor (Saxe-Coburg-Gothe)

(Personally, I suspect that this may not be the complete list and some very powerful lineages are still unknown to us).

The Rothschild dynasty is unquestionably the most powerful - visible - bloodline on Earth and their estimated wealth is around $500 trillions!

… there is no obligation.
So why do it?
That’s a “fair” question and I have often wondered why I have never been asked it before. While I appreciate your right to ask the question, you will need to respect my right to decline to answer.
Are you "fair and balanced" between God and the Devil?
That is an improbable analogy and I will explain why.

I use of the term “fair and balanced” to mean that fair is in accordance with the rules or standards; legitimate … while balance is taking everything into account, meaning fairly judged and equally presented.

To be fair and balanced between God and the Devil, I would need to fairly state the good and bad things about God and balance those with the good and bad things about the Devil.

Since I see God to have been conceived as being incorporeal, yet a personal being for the source of all moral obligations to the greatest conceivable existent … I therefore can only find good things about God.

While on the other hand the Devil is merely a name, among many other names, given to a supernatural entity who is the central embodiment of all evil … consequently, I can only find bad things about the Devil.

Ergo, there is the basis for your improbable analogy.

Yes, we are ruled by mostly unknown people and cartels.

That sad part is - most people don't realize it. There are even some who are so conditioned by the mass media that they will try and deny the truth and marginalize you by calling you a kook - now there's a word - or a conspiracy theorist, as if that is the ultimate insult.

They can't even wrap their minds around the fact that powerful people might get together and have a plan.

And that these same people have willingly sold their souls to Satan for unfettered power and riches and have banded together with one goal - a New World Order ruled by the antichrist.

I do NOT refuse “to believe that there are evil people in high places, those with unlimited wealth and power who do his bidding.” I need only to look no further than Obama, Hillary and Kerry to be fully aware that they have unlimited wealth and seemingly unlimited power to do, and are doing, the Devil’s bidding.

One of the many shortcomings you self-righteous Paultard shitheads have is that you not only try to tell people what to think, you believe you posses magical innate power to read someone’s mind and determine what they believe ... then become smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinions and behavior or others.

How does one live with that kind of cognitive dissonance?

Oh, my sides … I cannot stop laughing at the irony of how you of all people can judge someone to have cognitive dissonance when your hyper tense anxiety constantly holds such a contradictory and incompatible attitude to the norm and lets you think you can decide what is right for all Americans and control how they think.

I have lived through a world where Obama leads and controls … I have survived. I could never live in a world where you Paultard libertarians would try to control all actions and thinking by free people. You Paultards can take your libertarian belief that you can determine when someone cannot think well and that you will do their thinking for them and shove it up your liberal asses.

Hmmm … I just remembered that someone the other day asked me why I have such great disdain for libertarians.

Of course there are rich and powerful people who get together and make plans in secrecy. No doubt they talk about mundane secrets to make some under the table deals with “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” arrangements involving some type of covert operations mutually beneficial for power and profits. I will never dispute that. But when you continually try to tell me there is a secret illuminati plan of world domination to microchip the population under the NEW WORLD ORDER form of global government, then you and I quickly part ways.

I will admitted that there are no doubt some dirty secrets and under the table deals that take place from time to time among the elite and powerful, but I cannot see any factual evidence there is any “illuminate NWO plot” to take over the world and instate a one world government. It is too far fetched to ever believe that the governments of all almost 200 countries in the world would all agree on anything.

You can continue to believe your “conspiracy theory.” But don’t try to push your CT propaganda shit on me. Until you show me factual proof there is a NWO seeking to establish a one world government and microchip the entire world population, I will go on believing that you and the other Alex Jones “CT disciples” are crazy loonies full of shit. In the meantime I will continue to laugh at all of you CT freaks while I envision some small group of individuals mind-fucking all of you CT freaks with this NWO crap and reveling in bliss at the chaos they create and set in motion, from which they probably derive some form of “dark ecstasy.”

As you propagate your inconclusive and ambiguous innuendos about a NWO, I will continue to laugh and ridicule you.

When has Deckard or any libertarian stated an intention to do anyone's thinking for them?
If you expect me to go back to various posts to parse sentences and point this out, then I must inform you that I will not take time to do that.

There have been instances where it was obvious to me that he was trying to channel my thinking.

Being "fair and balanced" ... I will, however, have no dispute with you should you interpret his phraseology differently while reading his posts to me.

So you "believe you posses magical innate power to read someone’s mind" - as you were recently berating the "Paultards" for allegedly believing. Interesting.

A government strong enough to impose your standards is strong enough to ban them.

That was not from my possessing some magical innate power to read his mind ... it was derived from the reading the wording content of his post. "Most interesting."

And the "Paultards" who "believe they posses magical innate power to read someone’s mind" - they don't read the wording content of posts?

Alex Jones

Alex Jones be pimpin' for da Trumpster now.

He sold out long ago.

However I see very little in your long winded screed that was either cogent or lucid.

You're free to believe whatever you want, but I do find it amusing the bellicose way you stomp your widdle feet and keep telling yourself that you and you alone are the sole arbiter of knowledge and wisdom, while at the same time hurling a couple paragraphs of the same boorish insults that would make a 8th grader seem like Shakespeare.

But please, do keep up with the pre-programmed, fed.gov approved Mockingbird talking points - it is so amusing to watch you squirm.

Not any more tight than your girly lace panties are up your crotch, Deckie Girl.

You like watching men squirm?

"Interesting" ... [posted with a smirk on my face].
