Star running back Rahmel Ashby, who just happens to be facing gun and attempted murder charges, warms up, before the Grand Street Campus vs. Erasmus Hall, PSAL Football Championship game on Sunday. What criminal case? Fans cheered star high school running back Rahmel Ashby during a championship game at Yankee Stadium on Sunday — despite his pending attempted murder charge. Ashby, a senior at Grand Street Campus High School in East Williamsburg, played in the PSAL Championship Division title game. “He should be allowed to play,” said fan Renaldo Charles, 17, who traveled from Long Island to watch the game. “Whatever happens outside the high school stays out. It should not affect his games. He will have his day in court.” Ashby was arrested in Brooklyn on April 29, 2014 for attempted murder, officials said. Prosecutors alleged that he fired a gun and wounded three people. The 17-year-old was sprung from jail when he posted $50,000 bail. Ashby was arrested again for gun possession charges on Oct. 30 2014, records show. Fans said Sunday that proceedings against Ashby were still ongoing. Ashby’s fans sure weren’t deterRed from coming out to cheer him on, one saying “whatever happens outside the high school stays out.” Angela Murray, 40, of Brooklyn, said people shouldn't judge Ashby before knowing all the facts about his case. “People only remember when someone gets arrested and charged. It makes a big splash. But everybody forgets when a person is set free. We don't know what happened,” Murray said. “He'll respond to the charges. That doesn't mean he shouldn't play now.” A fellow student also defended Ashby. “He's a good person. He didn't do any of that,” said the teen, who declined to give his name. “He's a good football player too. He should be able to play. He'll deal with the other stuff later.” Not everyone was quick to look beyond Ashby’s rap sheet. “He should not be playing,” said a high school referee from Brooklyn, who declined to give his name. “These are serious charges,” the ref, who is 50-years-old, continued. “Other students aren't allowed to play for a lot less.”

There are standards? BOYCOTT PAYPAL AND CLOSE YOUR PP ACCOUNTS NOW! ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO SO,TOO! ISLAM MEANS SUBMISSION! Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012) American Indians had open borders. Look at how well that worked out for them.
