I have been thinking about the wife bashing and cheating accusations. This has all the ear marks of the gop elites trying to bring down both the leaders at the same time.

I was wondering if anyone else had the same thoughts?

They were photos for a magazine cover shoot. Published all over the world.

They were still top secret and no one would have ever known about Nudie Melania if those dirty anti-Trump PAC people hadn't reminded them. No, the Xlinton machine would never have brought those up.

And you're a bad bad man for thinking otherwise.

An establishment anti Trump Pac did.

The Trumpsters act like this was a Cruz PAC.

It wasn't. It was an anti-Trump PAC, nothing more.

Many of these PACs are just funnels for a lot of money, often run by operatives from campaigns that already quit. For instance, Jesse Benton and some others are running a big PAC now, even after Rand dropped out. They are just a funnel for tycoons to throw money into the race. Otherwise, these campaign pros would be unemployed for this election season now that their candidate has dropped out.

I heard it was Rubio's crew that have their finger prints all over this stuff.

That was reported in various sources that Rubio was shopping this information to various publications and internet sites that refused to publish .

Trump tweeted that The NE got the John Edwards story right. Therefore the allegations against Cruz are right.

But the NE owner David Pecker (the perfect name for the owner of the sleaze publication)is a Trump supporter . The paper has already endorsed his candidacy ,has given Trump space to author his own articles .Pecker has prohibited his reporters to publish any dirt on Trump. The tabloid only publishes glowing tributes to Trump.

Pecker has also allowed the publication to be a venue for Trump generated smears of his rivals Ben Carson.

They have accused Jeb Bush of having an affair with a Playboy Bunny ,and that he was involved in the drug trade in Florida.

When Carley Fiorina spoke emotionally about her daughter's drug issues ,the Enquirer's headline was “Homewrecker Carly Fiorina Lied About Druggie Daughter.”

It looks like we've come full circle and are back to the sleaze days of the 1800 Jefferson v Adams campaign.

True. And they're tame enough to post, as is, in the newspapers.

The photos aren't the issue. The issue is that a photo was used in a smear campaign by Cruz supporters to sway Utah Christians to vote for Cruz.

Ted Cruz sex scandal story leaked to National Enquirer by Marco Rubio “ally,” not Donald Trump, report says

Maybe Donald Trump isn’t behind the Ted Cruz “sex scandal” story leak to the National Enquirer after all.

According to The Daily Beast, “for months and months, anti-Cruz operatives have pitched a variety of #CruzSexScandal stories to a host of prominent national publications.”

One such outlet was Breitbart News, which was shown “a compilation video of Cruz and a woman other than his wife coming out of the Capitol Grille restaurant and a hotel on Tuesdays and Thursdays,” a source inside the publication told The Daily Beast. (Leave it to a politician to keep a standardized booty call schedule.)

The Breibart source confirmed that they’d received the video from “a Rubio ally,” but ultimately decided against running the story because, “There was no way to verify the claims.”

Cruz today issued a statement more or less implying Trump and “his political henchmen” planted the Enquirer expose.

Trump, for his part, denied Cruz’s counter-allegations, maintaining his ignorance of the whole thing while ham-handedly throwing jabs at “Lyin’ Ted Cruz.”

“I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer,” Trump wrote in a statement posted to his Facebook page, “and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.”

Absent in this still-unfolding story is a motive for a Rubio “ally” — whatever that means — to run a smear campaign against Cruz, unless it’s true and the suspended Rubio campaign anointed itself the role of morality police.

Maybe you need to look for Easter Bunny in your yard! ;)

Well, Trump's main spokeswoman is one of those alleged to have had an affair with Cruz. So unless they're throwing her under the bus just to get at Cruz, it doesn't make a lot of sense. But Cruz sleeping with a Trump mouthpiece would fit nicely for Rubio and his crew.

So unlike the Edwards story the Cruz allegations have not been confirmed independently?

Not at this point . Major media sources would not touch the story when Rubio was peddling it (they called the story "The Thing").Major news outlets that looked into the rumor before or after its publication haven’t substantiated the claims. Two of the women identified in the story, Katrina Pierson and CNN contributor Amanda Carpenter, denied the allegations .

Also John Edwards confirmed the story about him as true before it stopped being a rumor .

Meanwhile ,as you know ,I've always taken the position that whoever the Republicans selected ,the choice was clear that the Republican was the better candidate .

But after watching this campaign I am pretty sure that under no circumstances can I vote for Donald Trump. John Hawkins @ Town Hall makes the case better than I can.

“I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer,” Trump wrote in a statement posted to his Facebook page, “and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.”

Trump has a long history with the Enquirer. Trump has a long association with NE boss Pecker . Trump invited Pecker to his 2005 wedding .Pecker attended an exclusive Elton John concert the following year at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. In early 2013, Pecker appointed David Hughes, a top executive at Trump Entertainment Resorts, to American Media’s board of directors. Later that year, Trump pitched Pecker to lead Time magazine. The Enquirer endorsed Trump and has run hit pieces on all his opponents throughout the campaign ;going so far as to accuse Ben Carson of leaving a surgical sponge in a patients head. In contrast ,the Enquirer has an exclusive interview with Trump at the beginning of the campaign ;and has run adulation puff articles about him ever since .

“and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.” Total lie . He has had Roger Stone ,a notorious dirty trickster skulking around his campaign from the start . The only person on record in the whole Enquirer story is Roger Stone . Officially Trump dismissed Stone in August . Unofficially Stone has been a key advisor to the Trump campaign.

Will you have Trump shock when he is not all you think he is? It was 2nd Bush's Iraq move that made me start second guessing him. It was 1st bush's read my lips that made me start second guessing him. I wonder what it will be for you when Trump is elected and does next to nothing(which by the way is still a good thing) he claims.

To many Trump supporters have an exaggerated view of what he can do and it will be devastating to you when he does not live up to what you thought he would be.

After 30 plus years of watching politics I have learned to get my expectations very low! Even President Reagan had to fight his own party just to get anywhere.

Just another item on the laundry list. Associating with Nixonian con man Roger Stone (recall his swinger parties and ads, his dirty spoiler campaigns as a hired political gun, and infamous "Stone's Rules") is a typical sample of the kinds of people that Trump has chosen to associate with over the decades.

Roger Stone was (and still is) Trump's closest political advisor for decades.

That alone should disqualify Trump. Stone is a total scumbag and has been for 40 years. He was the worst of the Nixon-era political operatives. The rest of the GOP has shunned him for many years. Not to mention his well-known unsavory sexual habits. Apparently, that doesn't matter much to a serial adulterer and devout Presbyterian like Trump.
