Poster Comment: Ben the Mechanic at GreenCarReports.com says He dances around sustainability, clean energy, etc - yet, he is a monster consumer himself. His lifestyle is to the tune of $200,000 / month. This is not a carbon footprint - this is a carbon crater. And then, he has the audacity to come after other clean technologies (because it doesn't line up with his agenda). His 'net' effect on the world is toxic. The collapse in oil prices makes Teslas more expensive compared to oil-based vehicles. Cheap oil is simply bad for electric cars. I don't see why this is mysterious. It's also likely to be bad for hydrogen vehicles.
The emperor's remedy is straight out of the Trump playbook. He wants to slap $10 tariffs on imported oil to prop up his 2008 goal of getting one million plug-in electric cars on the roads by 2015.(he fell just a tad short;only about 400,000 electric cars have been sold ) .That's after billions in EV subsidies for consumers and the industry.
