Skip to 1:20 below for the key bit. If youve been waiting for Cruz to hammer the point that Trump is erratic and potentially dangerous as president, a fear that seemed to have resonance in Iowa, here it is in spades. Thats a smart way to appeal to undecideds, I think, even more so than attacking Trumps conservative heresies because unpredictability is a quality that most voters naturally disdain in someone running for the worlds most powerful job. Even if youre at peace with Trump deviating here and there from Reagan orthodoxy, chances are youre not thrilled at the thought of presidential tweetstorms whenever he doesnt get his way on something. Rich Lowry rightly praises Cruz here for deftly weaving mockery and substantive criticism of Trumps record together, which is true, but Im surprised that Cruz doesnt emphasize what Trumps loss in Iowa says about his managerial acumen. Thats the way to kill Trump not by calling him a RINO, which many of his fans dont care about, but by using Iowa as proof that the Great and Powerful Oz wasnt so great and powerful when it counted. If Americas going to do so much winning under Trump that we all get bored with winning, how come the winning didnt start in Iowa?
If you think the Trump/Cruz war is fun, wait until the Palin/Cruz war heats up. Theres probably no advantage to Cruz in engaging there, but Palins doing her best to bait him. Meanwhile, as Trump and his surrogates go kitchen-sink on Cruz and suck up all the available media oxygen, the Christie/Bush/Kasich triad thats trying to take down Rubio is gasping for air. Someones going to need to explain to me later why Trump is bombing Cruz this week instead of the guy whos piling up endorsements and donations and seems to be the biggest threat to Trump in New Hampshire. Exit question: How far up the Canadian chain of command does the great Iowa fraud go?
Update: More from Trump on his ground-game failure in Iowa:
Well, I think we could have used a ground game, a term I wasnt even familiar with, he said. You know, when you say ground game, I say what the hell is that? Now Im familiar with it. I think in retrospect we should have had a better ground game. I would have funded a better ground game, but you know, people told me that my ground game was fine, and by most standards it was.
Not true, says Politico. Trump was warned that he needed a better ground game but held off due to the expense.

Because Trump is a petulant 10 year old child in a 70 year old body, and Cruz recently beat him. His ego is as incapable of accepting that as it is of seeing future defeat from Rubio. He sees himself being cast in the role of a "loser",and it's all Cruz's fault because nothing is ever his own fault.
Also,I still believe he is running for two purposes. One is to pump up an ego already the size of the known universe, and the other is to emerge as the top alleged Republican candidate so he can drop out late in the race for cash and future considerations (Perot, part 2) so the Dim candidate can win because it will be too late for any other candidate to put together a good campaign. He will then spend the rest of his life bragging about how "I COULD have been the president of the US if I wanted, but I decided the job was beneath me."

I can't imagine what makes you say that!

Poor Donaldo, surrounded by underhanded Cuban/Canucki anchor babies plotting against his effort to Make America Great Again.
Trump got a lot of credit for pretending to be humble in his Iowa concession speech. But only hours later in NH, we see him not just as a loser but as a sore loser. Trump stepped on his own positive press from what was being called a gracious concession speech in Iowa. And now he's crapped himself again.

He is and always will be the spoiled Trust Fund Mama's Boy he has always been, and that is all he will ever be.
