Title: Oregon Seizes Bank Accounts of Christian Baker Who Refused to Make a Wedding Cake for perverted dykes

Melissa Klein, the owner of the bakery that refused to bake a cake for a homosexual wedding ceremony, has revealed that the state of Oregon seized all of her bank accounts weeks before she planned to pay the settlement from the suit brought against her by the couple.

According to Fox News, Klein and her husband were hit with a penalty of over $135,000 in July payable to the lesbian couple who cited "emotional suffering" for the mom-and-pop bakers holding to their Christian beliefs. The state, ignoring the couple's religious liberty, agreed and said the small business, Sweet Cakes by Melissa, couldn't discriminate against the rights of LGBT customers.

The Kleins quickly gained support for standing up for their own rights and began receiving donations which were kept in a separate account from their personal banking in order to pay the settlement. But in the weeks before Christmas, Mrs. Klein was shocked to find out that Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industries had confiscated all the money in all of her accounts.

“It was like my breath was taken away,” Melissa Klein said to Fox's Todd Starnes. “I panicked. Everything was gone.”

“We had three accounts,” she continued. “I have one account that’s labeled, ‘God’s money’ – our tithing. They just took it.”

An attorney for the couple said the fight is not over and the couple "will continue to work to ensure that every American has the First Amendment right to express their faith-based beliefs, and to conduct their daily affairs according to their conscience."

That constitutes theft.

What justification is the state using to steal their money? Is the state of Oregon now claiming the state of Oregon is homosexual?

Sadly, they are going to get away with it because the taxpayers pay the paychecks of the state lawyers who will push that case in court, and they pay the paychecks of the judges that will hear the case.

Meanwhile, they have no money to hire lawyers to push their case to get their stolen money back.

How the HELL can our national politicians allow these crimes against citizens go unpunished?

Theft by use of the force of arms because the state is using armed police to defend themselves and threaten the bakers.

In other words,a case could be made for armed robbery, with the Governor topping the bill.

Good luck getting a judge to hear the case, though.

That's what I was wondering. This was a private lawsuit. I guess the State can enforce such a judgement if the defendant refuses to pay by some legal means with due process. But through the department of labor and industries?

I remember a lawsuit a little while back where a family won a lawsuit against a municipality where they showed they were being oppressed by this municipality. The municipality simply refused to pay. What were they going to do?

We need an entirely different form of legal system in this country. There is provision for one but it is not taught in law schools.

We HAVE a completely different form of legal system in this country than the one in common use. It's the one the Founding Fathers gave us,and one in which the courts have to listen to the people because the people are in charge of the govenrment.

BTW,when I write "the people",I mean the taxpaying citizens. NOT foreigners,NOT people on welfare, and NOT people who don't have jobs or own property.

That's what you've been programed to think and you've bought into it. The people aren't in charge of anything. At best, they are like cattle or sheep being herded on a trail to the slaughterhouse. Every several years we elect, or re-elect, a group of Judas goats to lead us up the slaughtering ramp.

Have noticed much less activity here on these boards lately. I have spent a lot of time at Sportshoopla, they have a very active political board there.

Being a Seahawks fan is how I found the place. The politics board may have a thousand posts a day.

Gatlins and misterwhite and Roscoe have won. There is no place for Liberty at any FR spinoff site.

You wouldn't last there. They have standards. Statists who pose as conservatives would be booted fairly quickly.

I went to glance through it and found it was about like LF overall, not much better or worse.

Lots of personal chitchat nothing-news or non-news threads (Please pray for my 97yo mother, she's just too young to die). Et cetera.

If anything, there are far more raving statists there than here at LF. I saw plenty demanding that the feds should use drones to Hellfire the Bundy brothers. For no good reason really. It's not like they pose any threat to anyone other than the threat of a bad example.

It looks to me like SH started their political section to keep politics off their sports threads. And it keeps their posters from running off to some other political forum when they do want to discuss politics due to some hot-button current issue.

So I don't get the hoopla over political threads at Sportshoop.la.

Beyond that, it is another very poor forum software if you actually want to chat on topics or find old topics in a given subject area. Admittedly, LF's article categories are so ridiculous that it is much harder to find anything here than it should be but it is still better than Sportshoopla fundamentally. Lots of people have tried to create political forums with these BBCode-style generic forums but they never really work or last. Only a handful of forum software like TOS or Pinguinite (LF's forum software) have ever managed to do an adequate job for political chat sites. If Sportshoopla did not have sports as its main draw and tried to make a go with just politics, it wouldn't last a year and would lose 90% of its readers.

If LF were properly moderated, things would be politer here and rude people would find they could only post a few rude comments per day. It's not a lack in LF's software, it's a lack of will on AKA's part.

You can see that LF had a big influx of LP refugees and how it is dwindling. In large part, it is due to a lack of willingness (or time perhaps) to moderate it.

Moderating a forum is a long and thankless job generally. It is one reason why TOS sucks hundreds of thousands a year from its patrons to keep their chat site between the lines and out of the ditch (and still fails in many ways).

As the number of chat site members increases linearly, personality conflicts and malicious posters increase exponentially. Anonymous posters really exacerbates the problem and brings out the worst in people.

You neglected to consider that you might be a real asshole who takes pride in his assholery on anonymous chat sites.

Not that I'm any saint in this regard. And DCW has had his moments as well.

In some ways, a sports chat site lets everyone choose sides and have their little group hates in a way that is less toxic. In sports, eventually your teams play and one wins or loses for the season. In politics, things can just boil along for years, decades even. So political chat sites are probably more toxic for that reason.

BTW, you may have noticed that LF's posters have mansplained the issues so well that there isn't a single woman who posts here, not counting that teen girl who posted a little in the last month (assuming she's not actually a middle-aged FBI agent trolling for pedophiles).

There has to be some problem with the moderation when the majority of human race won't even post at all.

There is the matter of tone and courtesy as well.

With your wife or girlfriend or mom, do you start a discussion of a difference of opinion with, "Listen up, you moron, this is how it is!"? Of course not.

Even if you're 100% right on an issue, taking an arrogant or condescending tone with others guarantees you lose 100% of the time. Not on the merits but on the "feelz". And that is just human nature.

I guess since I brought up LF moderation in comparison to SH, I should flag AKA so we're not talking behind his back.

But you have the posting style of a medium Canary. I'm only guilty of having a posting style that sometimes sounds like I'm talking down to people and being a little arrogant. I'm saying that even if all the facts support your position, you can offend them so much in how you argue your case that they will never admit you're right and will be reactionary, taking up a hardened opposite position they would never have adopted if you hadn't decided to mansplain things to them.

Lawyers know this. No matter the facts, they are careful not to make a jury hate them because they will lose a lot of cases simply because the jury hates their guts.

I'm not sure why I'm explaining this because Canaries never grasp it. Which is why they are called Canary types.
