Shocking footage has emerged of two pitbulls savaging a man on the streets of the Bronx in New York City as bystanders bravely attempt to pull them away.
Filmed from an apartment above the road, the middle aged man is left lying in a pool of his own blood after the crazed dogs drag him across the road in the prolonged mauling.
The entire incident was recorded by a woman at the apartment overlooking the street, who is also heard speaking to emergency services on the phone.
The two dogs first start mauling the man in the middle of the street, while another, holding what appear to be leashes, tries to intervene
Both the men are thrown to the ground in the melee, but the dogs target only the man in the yellow shirt
The attack continues, with the two dogs dragging the victim across the road and towards the sidewalk. However, a group of bystanders rally together to help protect the man
After lying for several moments in a pool of his own blood, the victim then climbs back to his feet
Badly injured, he walks away as clothing and a pool of blood is left in the street
The victim, wearing a yellow shirt, can be seen lying on the ground while the two white dogs are circling and biting at him.
Initially attempting to hold them off, he soon succumbs to the attack is dragged towards the kerb.

According to police, the dogs owner, Cynthia Oliver, 55, was arguing with the unnamed victim outside her apartment block at 2414 Belmont Ave.
It was then that she let the dogs off their leash.
Screams and shouting can heard heard in the footage, including a call for someone to 'get the water' - a bystander then sprays the dogs with water using a hose.
As others help to pull the dogs off the man, the woman filming the attack can be heard saying: 'They're attacking a man... He's in the street bleeding. I'm upstairs watching this out [of] my window.'
More than a minute after it began, the prolonged attack ends with the dogs pulled away and the victim, left badly injured, lying in a pool of his own blood.
Although this marks the end of his mauling, the dogs then appear to begin indiscriminately attacking others in the streets just before the footage stops.
